Robb Stark- Grey Wind (c)

You tried your best to hold in your scream when the oversized wolf appeared from the overgrowth. You had never seen anything quite like it, but it had certainly seen you so there was no escape. Something of such a size could easily over power you or catch you if you decided to run. Freezing in space, you hoped it would continue on in the forest and you could return to your village and regretfully tell your father that you wouldn't ever be returning to the forest due to the beast that called it home.

Slowly it approached you, your heart pounding in your chest until it stopped inches in front of you. The creature plopped its rear onto the ground looking up at you as its tongue fell from its mouth in a loud and playful pant. Your eyes widened at the peculiar actions of what you would expect from a domesticated dog. Still not moving the large wolf decided to make the first move, forcing its head against your hand, forcing you to pet it.

After a couple of tries, you finally returned the movement, running your hand through its thick fur, the creature clearly enjoying it. Either it was a very friendly wild animal, or someone had domesticated it.

"Hello buddy," you smiled down at it, happy that it was friendly and was unlikely to do you any harm. "What are you doing out here?"

The canine pointed his head off into the forest before scampering off in the same direction. When it realised you weren't following, it ran back nudging your legs until you were walking in the direction that he wanted you to go in. Without thinking too much about it, you allowed the wolf to guide you until you heard a male voice calling out into the forest.

"Grey Wind," you heard a male voice call.

The wolf looked up at you with a joyous expression before howling out and beginning to lead you off towards the man's voice. You were apprehensive but the dog seemed smart. Finally, you and the wolf broke through the forest to find a man stood there. If it had been anyone else maybe you would have been thankful to have met them, but this was a nobleman, someone you had no right to speak with.

"Milord," you whispered. "My apologies."

You lowered your head, not wishing to make eye contact. Stood before you were Lord Robb Stark, the eldest son of the Lord of Winterfell. As a mere peasant, you weren't supposed to speak to someone of his status, you could lose your head.

"There is no reason to apologise, my lady. Thank you for returning my direwolf. Grey Wind does like to run off," he smiled fondly.

He held out his hand for you to take but you were far too nervous about whether it was a trap. You weren't given time to think though as Grey Wind gave the back of your legs a shove, forcing you into his arms.

"Grey Wind," Robb berated, assisting you in gaining your footing again. "I am terribly sorry for him."

"It's fine milord."

You attempted to take another step away from him, but Grey Wind didn't agree with that fact. He pushed you into his owner once again forcing you both to laugh at the odd behaviour of the direwolf.

"Clearly he doesn't want you to leave," Robb smiled. "I don't think I blame him."

"Pardon milord?" You whispered, scared of what he meant.

You had always had an interest in him, but you doubted he even knew your village existed let alone that you were there.

"I must thank my direwolf for bringing the most beautiful woman in all seven kingdoms to me, would you mind taking a walk with me?" He said softly.

"Why me?" You croaked.

"Why not?"

A small smile curled upon your lips as he offered you his hand once more but this time you didn't need Grey Wind to help you make your answer.
