Brienne of Tarth- Stars (c)
Westeros was a rather large place and with you and Brienne needing to travel across nearly the whole thing, it took a fair amount of time and it meant that the two of you had to form multiple camps to wait out the night, very rarely finding a tavern or inn where you could comfortably spend the late hours. By now you had gotten used to camping, prior to this expedition, you had very rarely had to sleep without a roof over your head, but it was a trip that was meant to be for good, so you didn't mind that you had to go for who knows how long without luxuries.
Brienne had already lit a small camp fire that you had prepared your dinner on, leaving you to unpack your bed rolls from the back of your horses, lying them close to the fire so that the last embers of it would hopefully help tackle the bitterness in the air. Although your camp had been set up under a forest canopy, you were able to see the sky through the leaves above you, so when you were laying upon your bedroll you were able to make out some of the shining dots above you.
With the fire burning out, you and Brienne had taken your places on the thin fabric on the floor, staring up at the leaf covered sky. Even if it was slightly obstructed, you couldn't deny that the night sky looked beautiful.
"The stars are so beautiful," you smiled warmly. "They make the cold night feel less dangerous."
Brienne rolled onto her side to look at you, nodding her head in agreement.
"No matter where I travel in Westeros, just looking up to see stars makes me feel like I'm home. I never felt that in Evenfall Hall, it never offered me that safety, but even out in the midst of a forest or on a battlefield, the stars make me feel safe and at home."
You smiled softly at her. You liked it when she finally put down her guards and allowed you to see her for who she was, not just as a strong warrior.
"I must say I am familiar with that feeling," you said fondly. "No matter what danger I am to face, having you here by my side to protect me and fight with me, makes me feel like I am at home. You are my safe place."
Brienne didn't say anything more as her cheeks begun to become slightly red, her excusing herself for a nights rest and rolling over so you couldn't see the emotions crawl upon her face.
