The Snow Queen and the Bear - Jorah x Reader
I've been asked to do a soulmate imagine for Ser Jorah. Again, this is my first imagine for Jorah, so I do hope its what you wanted. Enjoy 😊
Jorah watched on as Daenerys spoke in hushed tones to Tyrion, he knew that under her outwardly calm exterior, a million emotions were fighting to break free. It had not been that long ago that a message had found its way to her informing her of something she would never have believed, and there was still a part of her that didn't.
The message concerned something that Daenerys believed that she had lost at birth, that being her twin. She was always told that the girl, that was born only moments after her had died at birth; but according to the letter, the child had in fact been scurried away as soon as it came from the womb, taken by a stranger to a place far beyond the realm of the Wildlings, far beyond what was known, to a land made of ice and snow, a place colder than anyone could imagine, there to be raised by its Queen as her own child, and now she herself was Queen of her people.
The letter had informed Daenerys that her sister was known as (Y/n), and that when she had learned of her true lineage, (Y/n) had sought to find her real family, and once she had found Daenerys she had offered to assist her sister by journeying south from her homeland, bringing with her, part of her army.
Daenerys had been preparing for days, wanting everything to be perfect for when her sibling arrived. As she finished speaking to Tyrion, the pair looked over at Jorah, as he stood patiently waiting for her to call on him.
"Ser Jorah." Daenerys called out, watching as the man came to join her and Tyrion.
"I have discussed things with Tyrion and the council, and we have no idea what is coming, we are not even sure that the letter is correct and that this Queen really is my sister; but as long as she is here she is my guest, and I wish to assign you as her protector while she is with us. If she really is my sister, you are the one I trust most to protect her with your life; I know you won't let any harm come to her, Jorah." Daenerys said, taking his hand.
"You have my word my lady that I will not let you down." Jorah said, a small smile pulling at his lips, as he bowed before Daenerys.
"My lady!" A voice came, echoing through the large hall, as a guard pushed his way through the doors, making Daenerys, Jorah and Tyrion start, as the panting man came rushing up to them, bowing as best he could.
"My lady I think that there is something that you should see. There are at least two battalions of riders making there way to us, and there's......... well there's also a dragon my lady." The man told Daenerys, as she hurriedly made her way out of the hall, with Jorah and Tyrion in tow.
As the three looked out, they saw the battalions; each man dressed in perfect white armour, astride a perfect white steed that seemed to be moving quicker than any horses should be able; but it was not the men that made the trio stare wide eyed, it was the ghostly white dragon that flew over their heads, that breathed out great breaths of frozen air, air that fell to the ground as the most delicate snowflakes.
Without thinking, Jorah looked at the soulmate mark on his wrist, the image of a small blue dragon looked back at him seeming to be a little brighter than it was before. Jorah had always thought that it must be connected to the House of Targaryen, but a blue dragon was in complete contrast to the three headed fire breathing dragon that was the Targaryen's sigil. The mark had seemed to taunt him for years, especially since no one had even seen a mark like his before; he had spent many long nights staring at the dragon, wondering whether he would ever find the woman that had been marked by the gods to be his.
Before they knew it, the battalions stood before Daenerys, Jorah and Tyrion, the steely eyes of the men staring out at the three from under their elaborate helmets. With a great swoop of wings, the mighty white dragon came to a gentle landing in front of the mass of men and horses, the men bowing their heads respectfully as it did so.
As the three watched, shivering against the freezing air that surrounded the white dragon, two tall men dismounted their steeds, making their way over to the immense dragon, holding up their hands for something that could not be seen, to take them.
Jorah's eyes widened when out from behind the huge head of the dragon came a woman so perfect that he thought that the gods must have sent her. Her long platinum white hair flowed down her back, tumbling over the large white coat that covered her figure; Jorah could do nothing but stare at the perfectly brilliant azure blue eyes of the Queen that stared back at him. Her skin was pale and smooth, and although there were hints that she was Daenerys twin, the two were not identical. Jorah had always thought that Daenerys was beautiful, but her beauty paled into insignificance against the regal figure before him.
The two guards that held her hands, let go as they came before Daenerys and the two men by her side.
Taking off their helmets, the men bowed deeply before Daenerys, their long pale hair falling down as their heads lowered.
"My lady Daenerys, may we present the Snow Queen." One of the men announced, as they parted ways, the Queen walking up slowly to greet the trio.
Daenerys looked at the woman before her, smiling as their eyes met; deep down knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Queen before her was her sister.
"Your highness, it is a pleasure to meet you." Daenerys said, as the two young women embraced.
"Please Daenerys, if we are to be sisters, then you should call me (Y/n)." The Queen said, smiling at her twin.
"May I present my hand, Lord Tyrion Lannister, and this is Ser Jorah Mormont, who I have assigned to guard you during your time here." Daenerys told (Y/n) as she looked over at the two men.
"It is an honour to meet you." (Y/n) said, as Tyrion kissed her hand, noting that the Queen and Jorah had not taken their eyes from one another.
"So, you are to be my protector Ser Jorah?" (Y/n) asked, as Jorah took her hand and gently kissed her knuckles.
"Yes, your Highness, I have been given that honour." Jorah said, his eyes never moving from hers.
"Well I hope that you know that it is not just me that you must protect, it is also Snaer and Ormr." The Queen told him, smiling at his look of confusion.
"Ser Jorah, I would like you to meet Snaer." The young Queen told him, as she took him by the hand and led him over to meet the huge white dragon.
"Snaer, meet Ser Jorah, he is to protect us." The Queen said, stroking the large creature who instantly let out a breath of frigid air at Jorah, which nearly froze him to the spot.
"You will have to excuse Snaer, Ser Jorah, I am afraid that he is slightly protective." (Y/n) chuckled, as Jorah tried to get the feeling back in extremities.
"And this is Ormr." She said, slowly moving the great fur collar of her coat to reveal a sleeping tiny blue dragon that was wrapped comfortably around her shoulders.
Jorah couldn't help but stare, the small blue dragon looked almost identical to the soulmate mark on his wrist.
"Beautiful, isn't he?" The Queen cooed, as she gently patted the sleeping creature.
"My mother gave him to me when I was very young, he is identical to the mark on my wrist; my mother always told me that he was my soulmate." The Queen said innocently, as she pulled up her sleeve to show the stunned Jorah the small dragon mark on her wrist.
(Y/n), Daenerys and Tyrion, watched as Jorah stumbled backwards, wide eyed, unable to believe what he was seeing. After all these years, all these long years, here she stood, his soulmate; he had been right after all, his true love was a Targaryen, but rather than Fire and Blood, his Targaryen was Snow and Ice.
As he recovered, he began to roll up his sleeve. "Well then, if Ormr is your soulmate, he must be mine too, because he is identical to my mark." Jorah said, showing the young Queen the dragon on his wrist.
"But ..... that must mean....... that........ that you are my soulmate." (Y/n) said, looking into Jorah's eyes.
Jorah moved before the Queen, falling to his knee and taking her hand. "I promise to love you from this night, and for all nights to come, if you will only love a lowly man such as myself." He said, glancing up at the smiling face of the Queen.
"Even I cannot fight what the gods have decreed Jorah, I will love you from this moment, until my very last." (Y/n) said, as Jorah rose to his feet and took her in his arms.
"Now we just have to get Snaer to love you." She chuckled, looking over at the large dragon.
"I believe that is something I can work on my love." Jorah said, pulling her into a kiss, as a sleepy Ormr moved to encircle the two happy souls.
