The imp and the giant - Part 1 - Tyrion x Reader
Tyrion walked absentmindedly through the gardens, his head in a book, taking no notice of where he was going, or at least he wasn't until he walked into a large elaborate iron gate.
Tyrion looked up, rubbing his sore head as he stared at the gate and the surroundings. He couldn't remember ever being in this part of the garden before, and he definitely would have remembered the huge metal gates with a large KEEP OUT! sign, that looked as though it had been there many years, if he had seen it.
He looked through the gate, the garden beyond was overgrown with vines, but looked more beautiful than any other part of the gardens; the flowers seemed more perfect, brighter, and the smell of the blooms that filled the air was quite intoxicating.
Tyrion looked around sheepishly, making sure that no one else was around; he knew he shouldn't enter, he knew he should obey the sign, but curiosity was getting the better of him, and he felt the need to explore the land beyond the gate.
Pulling down some of the vines that barred his entrance, Tyrion managed to squeeze his way passed the metal bars of the gate, and into the world beyond. As he stepped over the gnarled roots of ancient looking trees, and pushed his way through hanging tendrils and creepers, his eyes grew wide as he saw what they kept from prying eyes.
Before him was a perfect little garden, a deep blue pool was at it centre, surrounded by moss covered rocks and drooping narcissus; every flower bloomed, every tree grew strong and tall, as happy little bumblebees flew from one perfect blossom to another. The whole scene seemed to sparkle, as if under an enchantment, an enchantment that made Tyrion want to explore further.
As he stepped foot into the enchanted glade, he couldn't help but hear the tiniest little cry he had ever heard; again Tyrion's curiosity was piqued, how could anyone cry in such a beautiful place he thought as he followed the sounds of the teary sniffles.
Tyrion rubbed his eyes, not wanting to believe what he was seeing, wondering whether the bump on the head he had received when he walked into the gate was making him hallucinate. There on the top of a large bright red toadstool sat the smallest woman he had ever seen; the pair of glass like wings that came from her back glistening in the sunlight as the little creature held on to her ankle.
Tyrion couldn't help but stare, despite the tears that were falling down her cheeks, the tiny female was undoubtedly beautiful, with a head of the lightest pink hair, and a pair of piercing blue eyes; Tyrion found himself incapable of looking away, incapable of going back, incapable of remaining hidden, as he found himself moving forward strangely wanting to comfort the little woman.
With a squeal, the little thing flew to hide behind the toadstool, her eyes widening in fear as she saw Tyrion come towards her.
"Please my lady, I mean no harm." Tyrion said gently, trying to cajole the tiny creature out from her hiding spot.
"W-w-what are y-y-you doing in my garden?" The woman asked, peaking her head out slightly from behind the stalk of the fungi to look at the large man before her.
"My apologises, I didn't not know that this was your garden; it's just that it looked so beautiful that I had to get closer." Tyrion said, smiling as the little creature limped out cautiously from her cover.
"I have never seen a giant before." She said, fluttering up and hovering just in front Tyrion's face.
"I think you must be the biggest man I have ever seen." She told him; Tyrion unable to hold back the chuckle that made the fluttering creature flit back to her hiding spot.
"Forgive me, it is just that I have never been called a giant before." Tyrion said, taking a seat next to the toadstool as the little lady looked at him wide eyed.
"In my world I am the little one." Tyrion told her, smiling as she fluttered up, flying around and around him, looking him up and down.
"But you are in my world, and to me you are most certainly a giant." She said happily, as she came to rest on the floor with a bump, landing unceremoniously on her bottom, as she winced, gripping on to her obviously sore ankle.
"How did you hurt yourself?" Tyrion asked, as the little thing once again tried to get to her feet.
"I was playing with the dragonflies, but they can be a little overzealous sometimes, and one of them bumped me while I was flying, and I fell to the floor." She told Tyrion, who had to smile at the idea of her playing with overzealous dragonflies.
"Do you have someone to take care of you?" Tyrion asked, as the little creature limped around, trying to pretend that she was fine.
"No, there is only me, there always has only been me. But I'm big enough and strong enough to look after myself." The woman protested, trying to stand up tall and straight, but failing miserably as her sore ankle had weight put on it.
Tyrion chuckled to himself, despite her size she was most definitely stubborn, and he was more than sure that she could take care of herself; but for some reason he felt as though he had to offer his assistance.
"Even though I am sure that you are more than capable of caring for yourself, why don't you come and stay with me until you are better? Once you have recovered, I will bring you back to the garden." Tyrion said, hoping that she would say yes.
"You mean go beyond the garden, go to the land of the giants? But I have never been out beyond the great gate; won't they eat me if I go out there?" She asked, leaning against Tyrion's leg for support.
"Well, I haven't eaten you, and I'm very sure that none of the other giants will either." He chuckled, holding out his hand for the little lady to sit on.
"But where are my manners? My name is Tyrion Lannister, and what might your name be my little lady?" He asked, nodding respectfully to the small woman.
"My name is (Y/n), (Y/n) the Imp." (Y/n) said happily, her brows furrowing in confusion as Tyrion began to laugh.
"Imp? You are an imp? I thought that I was the only one of those around here." Tyrion chuckled, smiling at the confused (Y/n).
"You can't be an imp, you are faaaaaaar too big to be an imp, and you don't have wings." (Y/n) protested as she crossed her arms defiantly across her chest.
"If you were an imp Tyrion, you would be in the garden with me, but you live in the land of giants beyond the gate." She told him, sitting down with a bump in the palm of his hand.
"Well, if you come with me, I will show you that in the world of the giants that I am the imp." Tyrion said, watching as the little creature mussed for a moment.
"You promise that you will watch over me, and make sure that none of the other giants eat me, and you'll bring me back when I'm better?" (Y/n) asked, as Tyrion raised his hand up so that he could look into her tiny eyes.
"You have my word that I will protect you from all imp eating giants." Tyrion said happily, as he placed the little lady up on his shoulder; smiling as she took hold of a lock of his hair so that she did not fall.
"Then Tyrion the Giant, show me beyond the garden." (Y/n) announced dramatically, as Tyrion made his way back towards the gate.
