Lady of the Sea - Euron x Reader
As promised, another usual bad boy given a heart 💖
(Y/n) lay in her small sailboat looking up into the vast expanse of perfect blue sky; such weather was rare for the Iron Islands, and she was going to take full advantage of the glorious afternoon warmth. (Y/n) sighed happily as she listened to the water lap against the hull of her small vessel, cheerfully allowing the sea to take her where it may; she had to get away from home, once again her mother had been talking of marriage and of all people it was to Rohar Grigg, and (Y/n) could take no more.
(Y/n) couldn't stand Rohar, to her he was no Ironborn, he was a snivelling mother's boy who seemed to know nothing or care nothing for the sea; but he was from a good family, and (Y/n)'s mother was determined that her daughter should marry well, much to the chagrin of not only (Y/n) but also her father.
Much to the annoyance of her mother, (Y/n) had refused the match over and over again, she was her father's daughter, and wanted nothing more than to see the world from the deck of a great ship, she wanted adventure and the love of a strong Ironborn, a man that could give her everything that Rohar Grigg could not, but her mother was determined that despite all protests, (Y/n) and Rohar were perfect for one another.
(Y/n)'s father had been one of Quellon Greyjoy's most loyal men, and had taught her how to fight and sail, to fish and navigate by the stars, and as much as she loved her parents and the fishing village in which she lived, just like her father, (Y/n) thirsted for more, a life that she had only been told about by others, and with her mother's continued insistence on marriage, (Y/n) had decided that it was time to leave, and make her way in the world.
The night before, with her father's assistance, (Y/n) had packed her small boat with provisions, furs, and the sword that her father had gifted to her on her last name day, and had pushed off from shore hoping that the Drowned God would look down on her and bring the winds to take her to a new life; but the Drowned God did not appear to be on her side, and she now found herself floating aimlessly in the doldrums waiting for the wind to fill her sail. There was part of her that did not mind, she was at sea, the only place she truly felt at home, and it was better than having to sit and listen to Rohar's and her mother go on about wedding plans.
Suddenly a great sound split the silence of the surroundings, it was a sound she knew well but had never seen in full flight, it was the sound of the oars of a ship from the Iron Fleet. Jumping up onto her seat, (Y/n) grew wide eyed as the huge ship came barrelling towards her, seemingly not seeing or caring that her small boat was in the way, and before she could call out, (Y/n) found herself in the cold waters, her great coat dragging her down to the depths. As she felt the last breaths leave her lungs (Y/n) clung to her father's sword and prayed that the Drowned God would take her to his side.

Euron looked at the woman that lay unconscious in his bed, unable to take his eyes from her form; he had been sitting by her side since he had instructed his crew to drag her body from the depths, something he would not normally have done.
He had heard the sound of The Silencer hit something as the enormous vessel sped its way back to Lordsport, the splintering of wood, and the scream of a woman strangely still audible over the thunder of the rowing fleet. Normally Euron would have taken no notice, if some fool was in the way then they would pay the price, the Iron Fleet stopped for no one; but there was something that had made him rush over to the side of the ship, something that had made him watch the nondescript body sink below the surface of the water, and something had made him instruct some of his crew to rescue the body from the water, and as soon as she had been brought onboard, Euron knew that only the Drowned God could be responsible for the beauty that lay half dead on his deck.
Pulling the sodden heavy coat from her shoulders, he had instructed his muted crew to bring fresh dry furs, and make all haste back towards Pyke; and as The Silencer had cut its way through the water, Euron had sat cradling his lady from the sea in his arms, brushing the wet hair from her features, as he kept her warm.
As soon as the vessel docked in Lordsport, Euron had had the woman rushed to House Greyjoy, threatening the Maestre with death if he did not ensure the maidens return to full health; and now, days later, he was still waiting for her to come around, anxious to meet his beautiful Ironborn lady.
Euron had been intrigued by not only his own actions towards the unknown woman, but also by the sword that she had still been desperately clinging to when she had been dragged onboard. The sword he recognised as one of his father's which he had used when Euron was a boy, so how his maiden had come to have it he was not sure, but it would be interesting to find out.

Euron looked up as he heard a soft moan come from his side, the woman moving as she began to stir.
"Where am I?" (Y/n) groaned to the person that she could feel was sat by her side, not daring to open her eyes as her head throbbed painfully.
"You're in my home." A smooth voice chuckled, a voice which caused (Y/n)'s eyes to instantly fly open.
"You're home? How did I get here, what happened?" A confused (Y/n) asked, looking up at the handsome man before her, a man who seemed so familiar yet in her cloudy state, could have been anyone.
"To answer your questions, yes my home, I brought you here, and my ship hit your sailboat." Euron said, a smile growing on his lips as (Y/n) moved to sit up, resting her back against the pillows.
"Your ship hit me? Tell me, are you blind or just stupid? Couldn't you see me in the water, or do you think that worm eaten overgrown raft of yours is too good to give a damn about anyone else that may be using the sea? Or do you simple believe that the whole of Ironman's Bay belongs to you?" (Y/n) complained angrily, as she rubbed the large bump at the back of her head.
Euron couldn't help but laugh, he was most certainly not used to being spoken to in such a fashion; but the fact that she had the nerve to address the Lord of the Salt Throne in such a manner, only made him want to get to know her more.
"I am neither blind nor stupid, but my crew is mute, so you should thank the Drowned God that I heard your scream; and I have never had The Silencer described as a worm eaten raft before." Euron chuckled, watching as the lady suddenly stared at him in disbelief.
Even in her throbbing brain, those words rang as clear as a bell; a mute crew and a ship called The Silencer could only mean one thing, and that was that she had just insulted Euron Greyjoy, not only the most feared pirate, but also the most feared Ironborn there was, and (Y/n) along with every other Ironborn knew how he had come to power, and this was a fate that she feared now faced her.
"My lord, please......please forgive me...... I didn't, didn't mean any disrespect." (Y/n) spluttered out, hoping beyond hope that the wildly unpredictable and cruel man before her, would not return her body to the sea.
"There is nothing to forgive, I do so like a woman that can stand up for herself, one that is not afraid to tell a man what she thinks and wants." Euron cooed, as he moved closer to her side.
"Tell me, my lady of the sea, what is your name?" Euron asked, taking hold of (Y/n)'s hand and kissing her knuckles gently.
"(Y/n), my lord." She told him, not sure how to react as the lord moved ever closer.
"A beautiful name, for a beautiful woman. Now, tell me why you came to be drifting out in the sea and why you have one of my father's swords." Euron enquired, as he brought up his hand, and brushed some of (Y/n)'s hair back behind her ear.
"I was trying to get away from a marriage I do not desire to a man that is no true Ironborn; I was trying to make a new life, one of adventure and battles, one where I can feel the sea spray against my cheeks and the wind in my hair, a life I can share with a real Ironborn man that will fight and sail by my side. And I have the sword because your father gifted it to my father, for his loyalty and service to him; and my father gifted it to me so that I could use it as it was intended." (Y/n) explained, still confused as to whether or not she was going to die.
"I know that you are probably going to send me back to my family, back to a man that I despise; but please, I pledge you my life to you if you will only allow me to stay in your service, my lord. I swear before the Drowned God, that I will do anything you wish." (Y/n) said, begging the Lord of the Iron Islands.
"You will do anything?" Euron asked, smirking as (Y/n) nodded frantically.
"Good, then you will stay with me; I wish to get to know a woman that not only has beauty but also the true spirit of an Ironborn, and if your family wish you to marry then I can think of no better man than I." Euron told a shocked (Y/n), who was even more shocked when he pulled her into his arms.
"Be mine, my lady of the sea, and I will give you all you desire and more; the Drowned God wished for us to meet, and who are we to fight a god." Euron hummed, his lips ghosting over (Y/n)'s as she looked into his eyes.
Even though she had heard the tales of the cruelty and sadism that the Lord of the Salt Throne was capable of, even though she knew that he was feared by even the most hardened Ironborn, there was something in his eyes that spoke of his pledge being nothing but the truth, and (Y/n) found herself incapable of saying anything but yes.
"I can think of nothing I would want more, my lord."
As the two kissed, (Y/n) couldn't help but thank their great god for this unexpected twist of fate, and no matter what happened, she would take whatever life, and love, Euron offered.
