In the mirror - Part 4 - Tyrion x Reader
Sadly, for me at least😭 this is the last part of the imagine. I hope that you all enjoy 😊
"Tyrion. That's it. Where did you find it?" (Y/n) exclaimed, as Tyrion showed her the ancient book that he was gripping firmly in his hands, a sad smile gracing his lips as he looked up at (Y/n) beaming face.
He had been overjoyed to begin with, overjoyed with the knowledge that he could now possibly fulfill his vow. Overjoyed that (Y/n) could finally be free and by his side; but then it had come to him, a horrible realisation. What if she didn't want anything to do with him? What if all this, all the wonderful nights that he and (Y/n) had spent talking and laughing were nothing more than a lie, nothing more than a way of (Y/n) trying to get herself free. And as Tyrion stood before the mirror, he knew that he had to find out how (Y/n) really felt.
"(Y/n). Before I tell you that, I have something to ask you." Tyrion said hesitantly, as he placed the book on the bed behind him.
"Of course, you know that you can ask me anything?" (Y/n) replied, as she pulled up her chair so that she could rest as they spoke.
"What do I mean to you? Are you using me, or do you truly care? I know that I am not what many women would see as their perfect man, but I need to know how you feel for me." Tyrion hurriedly exclaimed, hating the words that tumbled from his mouth.
(Y/n) rose to her feet, a mixture of emotions bombarding her as she began to pace her room. A million answers to Tyrion's questions flooding her mind. She hated the idea that her little lion would think so little of her that he would even contemplate asking her such a vile question, that that terrible notion could have even entered his mind. Part of her felt hurt and angry, part of her wanted to cry, believing that all these many moons together might have actually meant so little to Tyrion that that was something he was always thinking about; but given what he had told her about his family, his father, and about what so many others thought of him, she knew that she couldn't blame him for wondering.
"Tyrion." (Y/n) said quietly, as she dropped to her knees, placing her hand on the wall of her glass prison.
"I have never met anyone like you before. I have lived a long time, seen many people and places, and nothing, nothing, can compare to the wonder that is you. Despite everything you have been through, you still have the kindest most wonderful heart. You are funny, and clever, and even if I never get out of this prison, as long as I am allowed to stay in your presence, I will be happy. I love you Tyrion Lannister, I think that I loved you even before I knew that you existed. I have been waiting for someone that could show me what love truly is, someone that could mend my broken heart, and I know that I have found that someone in you. Those that cannot see how special you really are, don't deserve you, and I am glad that you are not every woman's image of the perfect man, because that means that I get to keep you all to myself." (Y/n) said, smiling softly as Tyrion stood on his chair and placed his hand on his side of the glass, a single tear of joy rolling down his cheek as he looked at (Y/n).
"Marry me, (Y/n)?" Tyrion asked, smiling broadly as (Y/n) nodded.
"I would be delighted to marry you, Tyrion Lannister." (Y/n) replied, both of them wishing that they could hold one another close.
"Then, Lady Lannister. Let's break this curse." Tyrion declared, hopping down from his chair, before he made his way over to his bed, and began to diligently decipher the ancient text.
>>----------------------------------<<
"(Y/n) wake up. I think I've found it." Tyrion called out excitedly, rousing the young woman that had fallen asleep on her bed.
"You have? What is it?" (Y/n) asked, as she rushed to the glass, watching as Tyrion eagerly read the script.
"As far as I can tell, the mage left one chance to break the curse, one chance in a hundred lifetimes. The mirror must be presented to the sky when the two great celestial orbs become one, when the night becomes day and day becomes night. As the rays of the black sun hit the glass, it will break the barrier between this world and yours. But it also says that only a true loves sacrifice can bring the dead back to life." Tyrion mussed, feeling slightly confused as he continued to read; (Y/n) taking a seat on her floor as she looked at her little lion.
"Tyrion. I'm not sure I like the sound of that. I don't want to put you in jeopardy, I don't want one of us to die so that we can break the curse. It doesn't make sense. The mage was an evil man, I can only feel dread at what all this could mean. I would rather stay in this prison and know that you were safe, than you be hurt, or worse." (Y/n) told him, jumping slightly as Tyrion suddenly yelled out.
"I have it! Well, at least part of it. In three days' time, the sun and moon will become one, a great celestial convergence that will mean that night and day are one and the same. The moon will move in front of the sun, which means that it will appear black. Don't you see. All we have to do is move the mirror to the highest tower in the Keep; as soon as the moon moves over the sun, the rays will break the curse, and you will be free." Tyrion exclaimed happily, already working out how to move the mirror to where he needed it.
"Yes, but what about the last part? What about the sacrifice and bringing the dead back to life?" (Y/n) questioned, nervous that Tyrion seemed to be too caught up in his own thoughts to give credence to the seemingly inauspicious omen.
"We will deal with that when the time comes. All that truly matters is that we can set you free, that we can break the curse and we can be together." Tyrion said, dropping the book onto his bed, and jumping up onto his chair.
"I swear that I will pay whatever price I must to set you free, (Y/n)." Tyrion told her. (Y/n) knowing that there was nothing that she could do or say to dissuade her little lion.
>>------------------------------<<
Tyrion sat in the tower, his eyes focused on the sky as the moon and sun began to slowly move together.
"Look. Look, (Y/n). Its actually happening." Tyrion said, turning the mirror so that the glass was in full view of the occurrence.
"Do you think that it will work." (Y/n) asked, as Tyrion tried his best to push the large frame closer to the window, the little lion not noticing that the mirror was now teetering on the stone surround.
"It has to work; this has to be it." Tyrion replied, watching wide eyed as the moon gradually took its position over the sun, the sky above Kings Landing being plunged into darkness. except for a fiery halo that looked all the more brilliant against the premature night.
Without warning, the glass of the mirror began to crack as the fiery fingers that emanated from the halo, flooded the glass, Tyrion losing grip of the frame as (Y/n) let out a gut wrenching cry of pain.
"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Tyrion screamed, dropping to the floor as he watched the mirror fall to the ground. The sound of the breaking glass, shattering his heart into a million pieces.
Slowly, Tyrion rolled onto his back, staring up at the grey ceiling as the moon moved away from its sister, the world once again plunged into daylight. He could feel nothing, he wanted nothing. (Y/n) had tried to warn him, told him that the wicked old mage would have one last terrible trick up his sleeve; but he had chosen not to listen, too concerned with breaking her free to hear her warning. Now he had lost her, now he had lost everything.
Slowly he got to his feet, his body feeling numb as he staggered forward. He knew he shouldn't, but he had to see what was left, to see if there was any sign that (Y/n) had actually been, even if only for one moment, in his world.
>>----------------------------------<<
The journey from the tower to the courtyard below seemed to take a lifetime, Tyrion not even sure that he wanted to get there. But as he reached the great door, he knew that no matter what, he needed something to remind him that (Y/n) had actually existed.
The courtyard was scattered with a million shards of glass, each piece glistening like a diamond in the sunlight. And there, in the middle if all the carnage, lay (Y/n), her lifeless form resting on the ground, looking every inch like some kind of perfect creature that had been sent by the gods, just waiting for something to wake her up.
Bending down, Tyrion picked up a large piece of mirror, its sharp edges digging into his skin as he knelt by (Y/n)'s side. His blood dropping like scarlet tears onto her white gown.
"I am sorry my love. I should have listened to you. Now I have lost you forever." Tyrion whispered, as he pulled (Y/n)'s head into his lap, his fingers slowly combing through her hair.
"I had wanted to give you this on our wedding night. It is the only thing that I have that belonged to my mother." Tyrion told the lifeless woman as he pulled out a necklace from his pocket, gently laying the charm on (Y/n)'s chest.
"I will always love you, my princess." Tyrion told her, his voice barely above a whisper, as he closed his eyes and bent down, gently kissing (Y/n)'s lips.
Suddenly (Y/n) sat up, gasping for air as she looked around, he eyes finally falling on the shocked man by her side.
"Did.........did it work?" (Y/n) asked in disbelief, as Tyrion pulled her into his arms, his heart beating so fast in his chest that he could swear that it was going to explode.
"(Y/n)! I thought I'd lost you forever. I thought that you were dead." Tyrion told her, pulling away just far enough so that he could kiss her lips.
"I'm....... I'm here. I'm really free. Oh Tyrion, thank you." (Y/n) said, as she took his face in her hands and kissed him again.
"Well, my lady. What do you say to me showing you my room properly?" Tyrion asked as he helped the shaky woman to her feet, gripping hold of her hand tightly as he determined then and there that he would never let his princess leave his side again.
