Dynasty - Part 2 - Jon x Reader

"She claims to be my sister? I have no sister. I am the only child of Lyanna and Rhaegar." Jon protested as Tormund tried to explain what he had just seen.

"Not according ta this lass. And I can tell ya one thing, there ain't no mistaking that whether er claims are true or not, she looks every inch like a dragon." Tormund continued, as he tried to encourage Jon to come and meet the young woman.

Jon sat down on the step, his mind racing. A sister? A sister! If it was true, why had Ned kept her secret, why had she not always been with him, why had Ned kept them apart? Jon knew that he had always felt that part of him was missing, that there was something that belonged in the space in his heart, but he had always put it down to being a bastard, and being treated as such by Catelyn. When he had learnt of his true lineage some things had fallen into place, and he presumed that the missing piece had been explained, but now, a sister. A twin sister. This was what he had been waiting for.

Jon had questioned himself since Dany's death. Questioned his place in the world, questioned why he was still there. He had felt as though he was being punished by the gods, but surly this sister turning up was a sign. A sign that he had done what was right. And she was his reward.

"Where is she?" Jon asked, jumping to his feet and rushing back inside.

"I told Thorne ta take er inside. He probably took her ta ya rooms." Tormund said, as he rushed after Jon whose pace had now turned into a sprint.

(Y/n) spun around as the doors to the room flew open. A young dark haired man staring at her in disbelief as he slowly entered. She had only caught a glimpse of him on the battlefield. Then he had been covered in dirt and blood, his face twisted in anger as he had fought the foe. But still she knew it was him, she knew that it was her brother.

"Aegon?" (Y/n) asked hesitantly as the man moved to stand in front of her.

"My name is (Y/n) Targaryen. I am your sister."

Jon wasn't sure what to do, what to think. As Tormund had told him, the young woman in front of him was definitely a dragon. Her hair, her eyes, her build, there was certainly no hiding her family line. But still, there was something very Stark about her too.

"I am sorry that I didn't come to you sooner. I'm not even sure if I should be here now. I know that this must all be a great shock to you. Finding out that you have a sister is one thing, but finding out that you have a twin sister..........well........" (Y/n) began, gasping as Jon suddenly pulled her into his arms. Tears slowly forming in his eyes as he held her close.

"Sister. (Y/n)." Jon sighed happily, gripping tighter as he felt (Y/n) tremble in his arms.

"You will never know how much I have missed you. How many nights I have wished that all this was real, and not just some wonderful dream. How long I have longed to come to you and tell you that I existed. That I love you." (Y/n) said, as Jon moved so that he could take her face in his hands. His thumbs carefully brushing away the tears that were gently rolling down her cheeks.

"(Y/n)." Jon hummed softly, still in disbelief. The young man smiling as he looked into his sister's eyes.

It had to be true. She was a gift from the gods. She was the missing part of his heart.

"I have something for you." (Y/n) told him, as she pulled away slightly. Taking a necklace out from under her cloak.

"I have wore this for as long as I can remember. Uncle Ned told me that it was a gift from our father to our mother. And that I should look after it until the day we met, then it could be both of ours." (Y/n) explained, as she pulled the necklace from her neck, and placed it over Jon's head.

Jon looked down at the gift. The necklace contained the combined sigils of the Starks and Targaryen's, a three headed dire wolf with dragons' wings. Jon was still lost for words. It was as if he was being bombarded from all sides, everything was happening so quickly, and he wasn't sure whether he could find the right words to explain what he wanted to explain. To say what he wanted to say, to show (Y/n) how he felt.

"It is only right that you wear it now. You are the oldest, even if it is only by a few moments. And if Uncle Ned was here, I am sure that he would agree that I have born it long enough. And that the head of House Targaryen should be the one to hold the sigil." (Y/n) said with a smile, as she wrapped her hands around Jon's. The twins holding the only thing that they had of their parents, together.

Even when Jon had discovered that his father was Rhaegar Targaryen, he had still always thought of himself as a northman, a Stark by another name. But now (Y/n) was giving him the Targaryen part of himself, and even though the Starks would always be his family, now he had a true family.

"Tell me that you'll stay? Tell me that you won't leave?" Jon asked, as he pulled (Y/n) over to the fire and sat her down on a chair.

"In truth, I have nowhere to go. Uncle Ned was the only real family I ever knew. And when he was..........when he died, I lost the only lifeline I had. I have been part of so many families that it is hard to keep track of them all, but I never truly belonged to any of them. I had hoped that you would like for us to get to know one another, for us to be a family. I had hoped that you would allow me to stay with you. That......that you wouldn't want me to leave." (Y/n) told him, her finger brushing through his dark hair as he fell to his knees and placed his head on her lap.

"I would like that very much, (Y/n)."

Jon sat in the chair opposite his sister. The two had been talking for what seemed like hours, yet there were still so many questions that he wanted to ask her. He was still angry at Ned for not telling him about (Y/n), for not keeping the two of them together, and now he wanted to know why.

"Why did Ned tell you about me, and not tell me about you?" Jon asked, as he watched the flicker of the flames from the fire light up (Y/n)'s eyes.

"I know that you might be angry at Ned but believe me when I say that what he did was for the best. When mother gave birth to me, it was far too obvious who I was, and he knew that I had to be hidden. It was safer to separate us, especially given what some would have done to us if they knew that we had been born. He knew that he could persuade Catelyn that you were his, but me..........well that would have proved difficult. He told me about you because he said that I needed to know that I did have a true family, that I wasn't alone. You had his children to grow up with, to play with, to believe were your family. The families I stayed with usually kept me away from their own children, away from any prying eyes that may let slip that I existed. I must admit that it was a lonely childhood, but it made me tough, strong and resilient. I read a lot, educated myself beyond anything others around me knew. Learnt to fight, to hunt, to......steal. But in the back of my mind, I knew that despite all the hardships, despite the loneliness, I knew that one day we would be able to be together." (Y/n) said, as she continued to stare into the dancing fingers of fire.

Jon couldn't help but feel guilty. It was true that Catelyn had never made him feel welcome, but he had been brought up with a good family, had what he believed were his siblings around him, he had been loved. Yet (Y/n) had really had nothing but the occasional visit from Ned who would tell her all about him, to keep her company.

"I'm sorry." Jon almost whispered, feeling the need to apologise for having everything while (Y/n) had had nothing.

"You have nothing to be sorry for Aegon. I was always happy that you had a family, and Ned always made sure that I was taken good care of and had everything I needed. I never went hungry, and I always had a safe warm place to sleep. And now, now I even have you." (Y/n) said, reaching across and taking her brothers hands.

"And I will be with you for as long as you will have me."

Before Jon could answer, the door to his room was pushed open.

"What is this about a sister, Jon? Tormund was telling me that............" Tyrion began, stopping midsentence when his eyes fell on (Y/n).

"Oh, Tyrion. I would like you to meet (Y/n) Targaryen. (Y/n) is my twin sister." Jon declared happily, as he held out his hand for (Y/n) to take, escorting his sister over to the amazed little lion.

"(Y/n). I would like to introduce Lord Tyrion Lannister." Jon told (Y/n), as Tyrion held out his hand to take the unknown dragons.

"You are a Lannister? Your brother murdered my grandfather. Your family conspired to convict and execute my uncle for treason. Treason that he did not commit. And I swore that I would avenge my uncle if ever I was to meet one of you." (Y/n) said, looking the little man up and down as Tyrion dropped his hand.

"But........... I have heard nothing but good things about you. I have heard that you are a good man, and we have already lost too many good men to lose another to something as petty as revenge. And I know that it is the last thing that my uncle would want. So, it is a great pleasure to meet you, Lord Lannister." (Y/n) said with a soft smile as Tyrion seemed to breath a sigh of relief.

"It is a pleasure to meet you also, lady Targaryen." Tyrion replied with a slight chuckle, as he bowed respectfully.

"Tormund was right. You really are a Targaryen." Tyrion said, as he took in every aspect of the beautiful woman that stood before him.

"But I also sense something very Stark about you." Tyrion continued, as (Y/n) chuckled quietly.

"I am afraid that I know very little about that side of my nature. But I hope that it is part of my life that Aegon will be able to tell me about. Though I must admit that I know very little about being a Targaryen either. I was never able to call myself that when I was growing up. Like Aegon I was called Snow, a bastard for all intents and purposes, even though I knew that that was not the case." (Y/n) explained to the little lion, as Jon pulled her to his side.

"Tyrion. If you don't mind, (Y/n) and I still have many things to discuss." Jon said. Tyrion nodding and leaving the room as Jon escorted his sister back to their seats.
