The Wedding
Today was the day the older female wolf was dreading. The day when she was no longer a wolf, but a lion. The day she was to marry someone much older than her and bear his children. Now she was not against Jaime as he had been very kind to her, and was often quick to come to her aid if need be. She was okay playing the weak and defenseless woman for the time being, she had a feeling she was going to need to save her strengths for later.
Among other things her father said he wanted to talk to her, before everything began. He was originally going to tell her after dinner, but was interrupted by a young man who claimed the king needed him urgently. He begrudgingly went, but before his departure he wanted his daughter to know that this was an urgent matter he needed to discuss with her. Arabella could hear the urgency in her father's voice, and agreed to meet before getting ready for her wedding.
Ned Stark knew he was going to have a hard time telling the girl the truth. He also knew that the actual truth would destroy her. Yes she knew that Jon was her actual twin, but she did not know they were actually his niece and nephew. Nor did they know that the throne that was so close to his niece was actually hers. She had the blood of a dragon, and when she was angry fire and blood was soon to follow.
He often wondered if Jaime Lannister was to find out the truth what he would do with it. Would he give her to the King, or keep her hidden and safe until he needed her. He also wondered if Jaime truly liked her enough to say he could one day love her. He did not believe this as he knew the Kingslayer had no honor, and would play her like a fiddle if given the chance. He was against this marriage, but knew that what the king wants he will get. Ned wondered if Jaime would let Arabella keep her handmaiden, she had been with her since her toddler years when they were not able to keep a hat on her head anymore. She was instructed to wash Arabella's hair with this special wash that would make her hair the golden brown that is seen by all to blend in with the rest of the family. He fears that if she could not her secret would be known. Her silver-blond hair would give her away, and make her eyes look more purple than the purplish blue they look.
After the meeting with the king Ned decided he would write a letter to Arabella and Jon. A letter telling them the truth of their parentage and who they really are. Aly and Aegon Targaryen, heirs to the Iron Throne and last of their kind. Well besides their Uncle and Aunt who are across the Narrow Sea. He wrote about their mother and her last request. He wrote about how their dad's first family had been brutally murdered, and how he had seen what the Cleganes were capable of. It was enough to make even Robert green with sickness. Ned had stayed up all night writing the letters to the twins, and even wrote one for Arabella to give to Jaime if she felt the need. Which he hoped she did not.
The completion of the letters marked the time for him to retire to his room to rest. As he began to pick up he, the recipient of one of his letters came down from her room to come into the living area.
"Father, are you just getting up or beginning to retire," she asked. All he could see in that moment was his sister, the woman who he missed dearly, and gave him two children to protect.
"Beginning to retire actually. How did you rest,"
"Well I guess. I'm so nervous, and I do not think I could stomach could handle any food,"
"Just eat some toast at the very least,"
"Yes father,"
"I wrote you a letter, read only if I have died and send this letter to Jon. Please, this is all I can ask of you, Arabella,"
"Yes father, of course, is this about what you wanted to tell me,"
"Yes, but I do not wish for you to read it unless the time has come,"
"I promise father, You have my word,"
"Thank you. I must retire now to get some rest, your maidens will be in soon to dress you, I suggest you eat some toast," Ned tells her before going up to his bed to get some rest.
~ In another part of the Castle, when the sun has risen to mark early mid morning~
Jaime woke up in his room, knowing that after today it would no longer be just his. He would have to share it with his new bride. He knew that he should be happy, she was the perfect match for him. She was smart, brave, kind, adventurous, beautiful, and knew when to play her cards. He however was slightly sad, due to the fact that his ability to see his sister was coming to an end. Now he would have to live in Casterly Rock with his bride and have many heirs to secure the Lannister Home. He had to give up being a warrior, and become a father and lord of his castle. He wondered how long before he gets tired of the same old thing and falls on his sword.
No he could not think about that. Jaime knew that he could never get tired of his new wife. Though who was to say she would not tire of him. He was not as young as her, or smart. He was quick to go into battle, and can be quite rash when times come. He wondered how she would react to his angry outbursts. Would she leave, cry, or fight back with the paws she was born with? He hoped it was the first, as he could not deal with a crying lady, and he feared her anger though he had not yet seen it. Wolves are not to be messed with as they have teeth and paws like a lion. He remembered how the Starks fared in the capital the last time they were there. It had not ended well for them, nor the dragons.
He knew his wedding was in a few hours, well 2 to be exact. All he had to do was get bathe and get dressed. Unlike his bride, he pitied her at this moment. Having to get cleaned, shaven, dressed, hair done, and light make up. He wondered if there had been enough time to get the wolf tamed. He laughed at his joke, and decided it was time to start getting ready.
~Time for the Wedding~
Jaime surprised himself with getting ready in record time and being at the church before someone started to look for him. I stood at the front of the altar, waiting for his bride to arrive and meet him down there. He wondered how she would look today, breathlessly beautiful or just natural. He knew his sister would try to make her seem as plain as she wished the girl actually was. He was in for a surprise though. When the church doors opened and the girl and her father walked in, it took all of his self control to stop his jaw from dropping in her beauty. He wondered if the wolf got her design wish after all. She was beautiful, but looked natural. He could not believe it.
Arabella without knowing was thinking the same thing, but she had always known that he was handsome. He was also a charmer. She noticed how his eyes met hers and stayed there. He must have liked her dress, which she decided on having made last minute. This dress showcased her beauty and her ability to look as royal as the people in the court. She could feel the stare of others and hear their whispers, but none of that mattered to her. She was trying to be the person that she was raised to be, and she had to admit she was doing a damn good job.
When her father gave her away she shed tears as she hugged him, and he whispered how proud of her he was. Her wolf coat was taken off and replaced with a lion. The vows were said with near perfection, on both parties part, and the kiss had been shared.
Prior to the wedding Jaime had demanded that there was NO bedding ceremony, and if there was to be he would not be getting married. He did not wish to share the sight that was about to be for him and him alone with other men.
The reception was beautiful and held outside in the garden, which Jaime and Arabella had agreed upon. Both felt that this place would be the best way to start a marriage, out in the open with family surrounding them. Well that is what Arabella stated, Jaime just agreed with her, knowing that this was just a small thing he could give her.
When the wedding gifts were given and the cake eaten, Jaime had grabbed his bride by her hand and walked her out of the room bidding everyone a good night on his way back to his, I mean their chambers.
