Dealing with Lions

Arabella was escorted back to her tent by her septa while Jaime and the rest of the men searched for the missing child and her wolf. Arabella was almost asleep when she heard shouting. She quickly rose from her cot and ran to the noise. When saw Jaime riding in on his horse, she could only look around him in hopes to see her youngest sister. Jamie had jumped off of his horse and walked towards his worried betrothed.

"She has already been brought in front of the king," he tells her.

"And my father, where is he," she asked.

"Someone has already gone to get him," he tells her going in to wrap an arm around her. Before he could get his arm around her she ducked down and make a break for the tavern hall.

When she enters the hall she sees her sister standing terrified in front of the king and his family. She quickly walks to her sister and wraps Arya into her arms. She stares up at the royal family and before she can even speak, her father storms into the room. Arya quickly gets out of her sisters arms and starts to walk towards their father.

"Arya, are you hurt," he says rushing to his youngest daughter.

"No," Arya tells Ned fear rattling her voice.

"Oh, it's all right," he tells Arya before addressing the royal family, "What is the meaning of this? Why was my daughter not brought to me at once".

"How dare you speak to your king in that manner," the queen speaks up.

"Quiet, woman," the king says to his wife before turning to his friend, "Sorry, Ned. l never meant to frighten the girl. But we need to get this business done quickly".

"Your girl and that butcher's boy attacked my son. That animal of hers nearly tore his arm off," the queen states with a smugness on her face.

"That's not true! She just bit him a little," Arya defends, "He was hurting Mycah".

"Joff told us what happened. You and that boy beat him with clubs while you set your wolf on him," the queen states as if she was the one injured in this event.

"That's not what happened," Arya rebuttals.

"Yes, it is," Joffrey yells back, "They all attacked me and she threw my sword in the river".

"Liar," Arya yells back. Arabella grabs her sister back, knowing this could go very south real quick.

"Shut up," the prince yells back.

"Enough! He tells me one thing, she tells me another.Seven hells! What am l to make of this," the king yells out finally fed up with this whole matter.

"Where's your other daughter, Ned," the king asks in hopes this can end sooner.

"ln bed, asleep," he tells his king.

"She's not," the queen butts in. Smirking as if she had one some great prize, Sansa, come here, darling".

Sansa comes into the room standing right beside the king and queen.

"Now, child," the king begins, "tell me what happened. Tell it all and tell it true. It's a great crime to lie to a king".

"I don't know," Sansa says unsure, "I don't remember. Everything happened so fast. I didn't see".

"Liar," Ayra yells out running towards her sister, "Liar, liar, liar.

Arya".

"Hey, stop it," Arabella warns her sister.

"That's enough of that," Ned warns.

"Liar, liar, liar," Ayra begins again.

"Stop," Sansa yells out from the attack.

"Arya," Ned intervens.

"She's as wild as that animal of hers," The queen laughs out, "I want her punished".

"What would you have me do,whip her through the streets," the king with annoyance in his voice, "Damn it, children fight. It's over".

"Joffrey will bear these scars for the rest of his life," she talks back to the king.

"You let that little girl disarm you," Robert looks to his oldest in disdain.

"Ned, see to it that your daughter is disciplined," he brings his attention to his friend, before looking back at his son, "I'll do the same with my son".

"Gladly, Your Grace," Ned says glad that his daughter is safe. All turn to leave before a voice that has regained the attention. A voice that causes Arabella to cringe with disgust.

"And what of the direwolf. What of the beast that savaged your son" the voice bellows out.

"I'd forgot the damned wolf," Robert mumbles to himself.

"We found no trace of the direwolf,Your Grace," a guard calls out.

"No, So be it," Robert says happy to end the issue.

"We have another wolf," the queen states back.

"As you will," he replies.

"You can't mean it, your grace," Ned calls out.

"A direwolf's no pet," Robert calls back to his friend, "Get her a dog. She'll be happier for it".

"He doesn't mean Lady, does he," Sansa looks to her oldest sister in tears, "No, no, not Lady. Lady didn't bite anyone. She's good. Lady wasn't there".

"You leave her alone," Arya calls out, "Stop them."

"Don't let them do it," Sansa pleas to her father and sister, "Please, please, it wasn't Lady".

"Is this your command, your Grace," the king freezes in hearing the voice of the eldest Stark daughter. He turns to look at her and freezes in the sight of the northern beauty.

"Where is the beast," the queen questions with a smirk.

"Chained up outside, Your Grace," the same guard replies.

"Ser Ilyn, do me the h-" the queen is interrupted.

"Wait woman, I believe the girl was speaking," Robert yells to his wife.

"Continue, my lady..,"

"Arabella, your grace," Arabella stands tall. Ned and Robert both had to take a moment to remember that the women in front of them was not someone who they had lost so many years agos.

"While I was not there your grace, I do believe that punishing one wolf for the crime of any other is like punishing a son for his father's crimes. I understand you feel someone needs to be punished, but leave that to the children who have fought between them. I would say to ask the butcher boy, but I believe it would not happen any time in this life,"

"Go on," Robert encourages her.

"I'm sure that something has happened to the poor lad during the search for him,"

"You dare state we are trying to hurt the butcher's boy," the queen interrupts.

"No, your grace, however accidents happen to even the best of us," Arabella tells the queen.

"Well, Lady Arabella, I believe you are right. We should not punish the wolf for the crime to another. Set the wolf free, and everyone go to damn bed," the king states walking back to his quarters finally done with argument.

"Of course your grace, good night," Arabella calls back bowing. When she looks up the queen is glaring at her with intent to kill. Jaime is looking over to her from his location in the crowd in amazement. This lady will one day be a bigger force to reckon with. Arabella helps the girls get ready for bed as Ned takes care of the wolf.
