___
KEELY PULLED HER
coat closer to her body. She could feel goosebumps rising on her arms. The cold was something she would never get used to, or enjoy. It was the same cold that had almost killed her as a child living in the streets.
The Galway street was full of people. Some were hurrying while others dawdled along. Keely shuffled her way into the stream of the people. She had no real destination, so she let herself be pushed along.
Most of Keely's days were spent roaming the Irish streets, it was night when she worked.
Sometimes she would bartend, but most of the time she would play with her band to earn money. It wasn't a lot. But between Keely and her brother, they got by.
Keely's blue eyes spotted a familiar face ahead of her. It was the man from last night. She felt excitement rise inside of her. She'd hoped to find him again.
The Irish girl weaved between the crowd toward him. Many people gave her dirty looks as she pushed past, but it didn't bother her. "Hey!" she called out. The dark haired man turned at the noise.
Keely stopped beside him. "Sorry, I'm Keely." she flung her pale hand out towards him. "We met last night."
The man took the girls outstretched hand. "Elijah." His voice sounded confused.
"You ever been to Ireland before?" Keely tugged Elijah forward, forcing him to walk with her, before releasing his hand. The pair walked side by side. "Not in a long time." he answered simply.
"Well, why don't I show you around?" Keely walked backwards, starring him face on.
___
Keely pulled Elijah around the town. She showed him her favourite places to go and the best places to hear music.
Though she had enjoyed getting to know the accented man, she felt like he was hiding something. Not the sort of thing you'd tell someone when you had just met them, it was something bigger.
Keely wasn't usually a nosy person. Sure, she was curious, but she hated prying. But she wanted to find out what he was hiding.
Elijah found himself confused at her carefree and joyful nature. She was nice to him, even though they'd meet yesterday and seemed to ooze with happiness.
She clearly wasn't rich, but it didn't seem to bother her. She always had a smile on her face, stopping to speak with many people on the street. Her step had a childlike bounce to it.
Elijah was almost afraid to be around her, his world could destroy her. Wherever originals went death followed. Wether that was in the form of enemies, or their own siblings.
"So, how many siblings do you have?" Keely balanced herself on top of a blue stone fence. The pair were walking around the farmland. She turned her gaze from the vibrant emerald coloured pasture, to look at the man in front of her. "Yesterday you said you were having sibling issues."
Elijah nodded his head. "I've got three brothers and a sister."
"That's a lot, I've only got my older brother to worry about." Keely couldn't imagine how it would be to have four siblings. It was hard enough for her Riley to get by, but adding more siblings to the mix. It would be a nightmare.
Keely looked down at the old brown leather watch on her wrist. Her head shot up to look at the setting sun. "Christ, I need to go," she cursed. She hadn't realised how long they'd been walking for. She jumped down from the stone fence.
"Hey, maybe I'll see you around sometime?" She looked to Elijah, "You'll have to tell me all about those siblings." With that, Keely turned and sprinted over the field of long grass, toward town.
Elijah smiled at her retreating figure. It was the first time he had been happy in a while, and was all because of a small Irish girl from Galway.
