RAJVEER.

He was again up. He couldn't sleep again. And it was all because of her muffled cries. There was really something she had in her mind and life. He was unaware of a big part of her life. He wanted to know.....but as always his mind stopped him from getting up and asking her reasons.

When he heard cries getting silent, he thought she had slept. So he turned his position and tried to doze off. But a sudden noise of utensil falling jolted him up. He got down the bed and wore his flip flops. He silently opened his door a little and peeked.

There she was. In kitchen timidly filling a glass. Then she unwrapped something and swallowed. She drank water and left for study.

Curiosity got him. He couldn't stop himself from going out and checking what she had swallowed. He waited for five minutes. When he heard study door getting locked, he tip toed to kitchen. There was nothing on slab. Neither on floor. He checked dustbin. It was also empty of anything. He had cleaned it before sleeping...and it was same. Empty. He searched whole area but got nothing..

At last he dropped his idea of search. Perhaps she had swallowed pain killer or something. May be she had an ache. But where the hell that wrapper went?

He thought for a while.

She would have brought only pill. But he saw her unwrapping it. Damn! This woman'd one day make him the cat who was killed by curiosity!

He went back to his bedroom and waited for the academy alarm going off. Today was the important day. Last night he had got affirmation mail from ministry. kMA was going to have new staff. And he was sure the lazy ass BC was, whole burden was now on his shoulders.

Today is a big day! Sleep.

But sleep was far away when someone adjacent to his room was making his life difficult day by day.

She understood her place in his life and had happily accepted it. She had drifted apart. There was nothing between them. Neither a proper conversation, first of all even a conversation, nor any kind of emotional or relational stuff. There was nothing between them. Both were living under same roof as two strangers. She was cooking his dinner and he was fixing her breakfast. It was just give and take relation. What she was giving him, he was returning. He was not ungrateful after all.

But as always her silence and aloofness always caught him. She since the confrontation had decided to neglect him. What was the reason? When she woukd have come to know about his tending of her wounds, she could come to him and explain herself.

He'd have listened!

But no. She never did that. Her actions every day made his belief more firm. She was.....

Today for first time,Raj wanted her to announce her truth herself. If she was what he had thought of him, she needed to announce it. Raj thought of talking to her once again but god knows whay she'd do after hearing same lines.

No....

He got scared. He had brought her safe and sound,and he was going to leave her at Naveen' in same state.

This relation with his independence was going to end.

Naveen' case!

Realisation hit him hard. Between all his marital drama he had forgotten to keep a track of his case. Damn this marriage! Now he was being a ungrateful friend which he was not. It only happened after this marriage. This marriage was the cause which brought the worst of him out.

He never was so rude to someone, this much insensitive he never was. He never was a jerk he was being in past one and half weeks. He was someone else...a caring, sensitive, kind guy. But the day he had seen her on his table begging for him to be her bidder, he was enraged.

He couldn't have thought how low a woman can be.

And when that filth came into his life as his wife, he couldn't suppress his aggression. He behaved badly woth her. He talked rudely. He used profanities which he had never down before with a woman.

All because of this marriage!!

Coming back to his duty, he decide to call Nav' lawyer. He dialed her no. It was half past one but he knew she'd be awake. After all this case was not an easy one..

'Hello. Annie..Rajveer here.'

He could hear her deep intake of breath. Suddenly What happened man!

'Are you really a jerk? Cant you keep your wife occupied? You know na how badly she is destroying her carrier! Still tum usko har do minute me mujhe phone karne dete ho! Whats wrong with you guys? Ek daily sau baar phone karti he...dusra saun din me ek baar. See...I am well capable of handling this case alone. Now tell your wife I am not going to get her flirt brother hanged. Mujhe shanti se kaam karne do.'

With this, the line went dead.

For a second, he was confused. Then he got the part. Whole day madam was disturbing annie. Why? She herself had suggested annie for this case. So now what were her tensions regarding the case?

He needed to see her...at once.

He ejaculated up and rushed to study. He found it locked from inside. He knocked. But she never came out. He knew she was awoke but she never came out.

'Nainaa....Come out..I have something to talk about. Its important.'

He called out impatiently. But still she didnt open the door. He called her out many times but no reply came hence he dejectedly warned her.

'Dont open the door. But ye mat bhoolo...subah bhi hogi. I am not gonna spare you. You cant run away from me. Never..'

He went straight to his bedroom and fell on bed. This woman was getting on his nerves day by day..

Soon he dozed off. His slumber broke with a tinge of message that he had got from ministry. He got up and checked his laptop.

It was about selected officers for providing their services at KMA. Total four names were in the list.

Captain Amresh Prajapati.

Captain Alekh Sharma..

Lieutenant Ayushi Saini (le kar le jo karna he)

Next name shook his world. He had not been expecting this captain to appear. In fact this name appeared out of blue. He was not ready for this blow. Damn! He was tensed. He was astonished beyond limit.

But he had to forward the same mail without any changes to BC. Moreover they were appointed by ministry hence he couldn't do anything.

His sleep flew away so did his comfort. He got out of bed and went out. It was almost two hundred forty five hours in morning which means KMA bell was about to go off in fifteen minutes. He opened the main door and left for ground.

Only physical work could distract him. It was not going to be easy. He took rounds after rounds of ground.

When he couldn't do more, he left for his room. It was perhaps half past three..He went straight to freshen up.

In bathroom like everyday his mind was occupied. He showered for like eternity. He couldn't take his mind off. The shock he had gotten early morning today was more like a blow. A sudden attack of fate once again!

He when came out of his thoughts, went out. He dressed up and left for assembly where BC was all set.

'Good morning sir.' He greeted BC. Who in reply almost hugged him.

'You too captain. I got the mail by the way. Thanks Raj. Finally KMA is going to have new faces. Sakht jarurat thi teachers ki. And it all was possible because of you. Koi aur officer hota to shayad hamari baat koi nahi sunta. Its pros of being a good officer always. Now come on. Those officers'l take time. Till we have lot to do.. come on.'

BC after addressing cadets like before dragged Raj to his cabin where a grumpy major nair was already present.

'Maj. Nair. Now you'll have a help. Captain sharma jo last month promote huye the, is arriving around lunch. Aap lunch ke baad wali drills reschedule kar lijiye. He'll help you from tomorrow. Aur Lolita ji ko boliye ki Apna lecture prepone kar de. I think lietunant Saibi is going to arrive tomorrow. After lunch there'll be no class. Got it?'

Nair tried to protest but agreed in last. Meanwhile Raj had his pale face which BC ignored taking it result of so early and hectic life style.

Raj taught his classes again lost. And when the lunch bell rang, he abruptly left.

An orderly informed him mid way that bc was calling him. He knew it was the time. He gathered himself and took deep breaths.

He was ready to face...

He entered in and BC happily indicated him to come forward. Major Nair, Suriji and lolita ma'am was standing on bc' left while shal was next to him. Shal elbowed him and silently wishpered to him...

'There's a surprise for you!'

He with a poker face neglected her.

'Come Raj. See all four of them are arrived. I had not expected them to come so early. By the way let me introduce everyone.'

He heard BC and waited for this to end soon.

'Major Nair, drill commanding officer;
Captain Rajveer Singh shekhawat, communication and strategy teacher;
Dr. Shalini, Medical trainer along infirmary in charge;
Lt Lolita, history teacher along girls hostel warden,

This is old KMA staff.now new entries are..

Captain Amresh who'll be New security in charge.

Captain Alekh Sharma who'll assist Major Nair,

Lieutenant Saini'll assist lolita ji.

And a new subject is added this year..

Artillery and ammunition.

Captain Naina Singh'll teach it. And Captain Nandini'll assist her.'

Once again he was left mouth agape. From where Naina came? It was about Nandini who was gonna teach here. And one second, as much he knew Naina was junior. How could she teach new subject while Nandini'd assist her!

'Sorry to object sir. But isnt Captain Singh junior to Captain Nandini? Moreover she was not invloved prior to this announcement. Suddenly tjis change? I mean I wasnt informed about it. sir.'

BC laughed..

While others except Nair were astonished.

'Ohh come on Raj! Colonel Chandra ne recommend kiya he. I was personally informed around two hours ago. May be you missed your mail. Don't get surprised. Aur ha try this much fatal joke! apni biwi ki kabiliyat par shak? Aisi baate sirf majak me acchi lagti he...Dont pretend as if your not aware of her recent appearance in conference. Abhi two months back she attended three nations meet. Special recommendation tha. You forgot you were also invited! Naina there held praises for her lecture on today's war phase and style. Come on Raj...Stop messing with her. I know biwi ko pareshan karne ka apna maja he...lekin Is tarah khud ke pairo par kulhadi nahi maarte!'

He felt ashamed of himself. He had to bear this....all because of her.

Was she really this talented or????

But meeting was dismissed. And all had to leave.

Raj was soon surrounded by shal, alekh and nandini. She was too there...at a distance, whisper talking with Shal.

And soon alekh' phone went off. He excused himself.

Nandini grabbed rhe opportunity and proceeded to hug him. He stepped back..

'Come on raj! Arent you happy after seeing me? Me to khushi se pagal ho gayi thi when i got the mail. And about your marriage, who is the girl? Tell me..Ab dosto se kya chhipana?'

Raj snorted. Friend? When she was his friend?

Never..all she cared was her appearance and status.

'Nandini..Wese Raj ka chhodo. Uska to saamne hi he...ye rahi girl.the lucky one.' Shal on his behalf spoke. While speaking she pulled Naina on her right side and presented her to nandini who at once balled her fists.

'Ab tum apna batao...kaha he tumhare Businessman Gadoria sahab? How come he allowed you to do this petty job? Hmm? Kya huya?'

Nandini almost shouted...

'I am divorced. So mujhe nahi pata...kaha he aapke Gadoria Sahab! Now I have my packing to undone and adjust my belonging. Me jaati hu.'

'Ha to jaao na...wese Gadiria sahab hamare hote...to hum yu Cotton aur detol nahi leke ghumte...Jaao Nandini..late na ho jao tum.'

Nandini left with raging face.

He turned to shal.

'Ye kya tamasha tha?'

'Exactly..kya tamasha tha andar? Khud ki biwi par hi attack? Kya chal rha he tumhare dimag me? Do you know what you just did? Naina tumhari biwi he..raj. Even if she has nothing in name of skills, tum usko aise bhari mahfil me question nahi kar sakte! Manner kaha gaye tunhare?'

'Come on shal. It was just a surprise for me. I just.......Leave it. Now will you please spare me? Meri jindagi ke jhamele kam hone ke baajway badte hi ja rahe he. I need rest. Can I leave?'

'Ha jao na...roka kisne. Naina...Lets get coffee. Is boring aur ubau captain ko yahi chhodo. Naya coffee shop khula he. 20% off on first order. Chalo...Lets have fun. Actually your treat. Nayi posting ke liye..'

He saw her meekly nodding before shal dragged her.

He departured to his room where without changing he sat on couch..

Again his thought went to her...

She a talented captain! But why Naveen never quoted her even when he and nav both were asked to attend that conference.

And why did Chandra recommend her? He never did this before. Was she involved with him?

His head ached badly....

First that unexpected return of Nandini...and now these disclosures about her.

She never told anything about herself. Even if he never asked, she'd have made first move. Why so distant! Why so silent...

And like as always he dozed off..
