Entry #6201 Day 341 Year 19.
The research done about the toxic virus '2180' is 'top secret' in the shuttle, however, I have been able to access the information and furthered the research. The virus we were told about as kids was only the surface of the truth. We were taught that the virus was spreading rapidly and it mutated life, made it become violent and than it was similar to a zombie like apocalypse.
However, the research that has been done explains this differently. The virus had altered the brain cells and decreased the amount of white blood cells, this caused a reaction and the body could no longer function as efficient as it once could. With the plant life not much had changed until a month after, the plants life increased covering the land. Other research is not found.

The virus that had spread was man made and my hypothesis suggests that scientists were experimenting to evolve the human race, to increase our abilities. During the experiment the chemical reactions we incomplete and they created the virus, by letting the chemical temperature increase unsupervised the toxic fumes that were created seeped out of quarantine. The antidote was simple to create but the 3% of surviving humanity left. I plan to research my studies and  to clear the atmosphere of Earth to make it inhabitable once again.

I shut down the private network and make my way to work. I am the intern at the systems lab, this is where we suggest how to produce and expand our lives. I walk in my white sneakers on the cold steel floors, the white coat I wear for uniform stands out compared to the blue space suits. Today I am going to suggest an investigation upon Earth and the virus. I stop and stand still at the labs door. The face scanner lets me access the laboratory and the table of waiting scientists all talk about the next step for society.

"The planet 182 is suitable for human habitation, however, there are some incomplete research about the life among the planet is limited and will take a full week to finish all research."

"OK, by one week we will be developing how to create a suitable habitat for the next generation of mates to breed"

I wait until I can find a gap in the conversation so I can suggest my idea. I don't have to wait too long as the conversation works its way towards me.

"Newt you'll be partnered in a month, what do you suggest about that?" Professor B asks.

"To be honest I don't find anyone on this station attractive and I would prefer to have a say in this. However, if I may suggest an investigation upon the virus." The scientist are intrigued and I continue to explain my idea.

"If we were to conduct the research we would need field agents and a scientist to collect data and report back to us, once in contact with the land the items on you will be contaminated and lives will be lost"

"What if I do this by myself, I am qualified to go on the field and I am the one who has the hypothesis. I will bring a contact device and update you on the current events. If I can develop an antidote or a new bacteria that could destroy it then I could contact the results."

The scientist talk among themselves about this idea. "Newt, you'll need at least another to help you carry on your research, and if you get there alive we have already had men loose lives on that planet to research the virus. The chances of survival is limited"
