Chapter 3: Failure First Date Fixes
Arthur sighed placing the book down and removing his headphones. He looked at Alfred, "Why?" He asked raising a brow. "Cos I'll be bored, why not? They have good food! Like...fish and chips. They have that!" Alfred grinned. "Will your jock friends be there?" He asked. "Yeah, pretty much everyone from my ap history class will be." Arthur growled and grimaced, "Jocks..."Alfred leaned down, giving him puppy eyes. "Pleeeeaassee? I'll beg," he said. Arthur sighed unhappily and put his things in the bag and stood up regretting the desicion he was making. "Fine." Alfred squealed and hugged Arthur. "Thank you~!" Arthur pushed Alfred off of him and dusted himself off. "You're a clingy person aren't you?" He asked unamusedly. Alfred blinked. "Is that a bad thing?" "I suppose not, but you have hugged me alot today." He said placing a hand on his hip. "You don't like my hugs?" He sniffled, holding back tears. Arthur let out a long sigh. "Great...here come the waterworks." He turned and looked at Alfred. "Look. It's not that. I am just not used to being hugged ok?" Alfred nodded. "I'm sorry..." Arthur shook his head. "It's fine, let's just get the lunch over with before I change my mind." He said as he grabbed his things. Alfred grinned. "Ok." He practically ran to the pier off in the distance. It was made of dark wood and lined with the occasional tourist shop. It connected to another pier where boats were rented out.
He stopped halfway down the peer, motioning towards a sign. Arthur followed Alfred regretting every step he took. He stopped once he reached Alfred's side by the sign and was questioning himself if it was too late to turn back. "We're not there yet, it's at the end of the pier," he said. "But look, a pirate museum..." Arthur looked at it a bit interested, he was a big fan of pirates, he found them fascinating. He turned and looked at Alfred, "Ok. What about it?" He asked. "We should go in it after lunch." He said excitedly. Arthur held back an excited smile. "Really? Are you interested in Pirates or something?" He asked. Alfred nodded. "They're cool. I like them." "Ah..I see. I guess we could." He said. Alfred excitedly nodded. "We should rent a boat too and go out on the water some time. Oh, um, guess we should get back to walking to the restaurant." "You do a lot at the beach don't you?" He asked rasing a brow. "Yeah, there's a lot to do on vacation, it's fun." He smiled, taking off in a half run half walk down the pier. Arthur rolled his eyes and followed Alfred still regretting what he was doing. Alfred stopped at the end, a Tiki bar and tables set up under a cover of a bamboo ceiling. The tables seated up to 4 and had small candles on them. In the back were picnic tables that seated up to eight.
Alfred grabbed Arthur's hand and ran to the back, sitting down at a table with his friends and their girlfriends. Other teenagers gathered around another table. Arthur sighed, he was now starting to regret going with Alfred to the restuarant. He was just waiting for it to be over, he thought maybe if he stayed quiet long enough nobody at the table would notice him there. Alfred grinned. "Hey guys!" One of his friends stared at him for a second then at Arthur then back to Alfred. "Uh. Man? We told you to bring a date. That means a girl. You cannot be so stupid that you can't even get a girl to go with you to lunch." Alfred blinked. "I didn't want to bring a girl though." He said, challenge clearly present in his voice. His friend's eyes narrowed slightly. Arthur sighed quietly, yup...this was going to end badly, he contemplated just getting up and walking away, god how he hated Jocks. Alfred cleared his throat. "If you have a problem with me not picking up the first thing with breasts I could find," he cracked his knuckles casually. "Then why don't we have a little talk." He growled. His friend grunted. "Yeah, why don't we." He stood up with Alfred, throwing a punch. His girlfriend shrieked. Alfred grabbed his fist and squeezed, throwing a punch back his way and hitting his nose. At the same time, he brought his knee up, shoving it into his crotch. He yelped, fainting with a bloody nose. His girlfriend screamed, running away.
Arthur just moved out of the way, he didn't understand why athletes fought so much, well..more like American's, he didn't really see a point to the fight. He just stood out of the way watching confusedly. Alfred growled angrily. "I'm getting another table, you're all fuckasses right now." He pulled Arthur to the front, sitting down at an empty table. He sighed. "I'm sorry. I didn't think they'd be that bad."
"I don't really get what that was about anyway." He said sighing. "He told me to bring a girl they could get drunk and I didn't." He fidgeted. "Oh I get it. So you decided to bring me and joke about it. But instead your plan backfires and you end up getting in a fight. Charming." He scoffed. "I knew I was going to regret coming with you." He said crossing his arms and looking out at the waves. Alfred's jaw dropped slightly. "No. NO. I swear! I didn't want to bring a girl because they'd just get her drunk and more than likely into a bed and I'm not ok with that. I brought you because you're a lot better than a random girl. I just didn't think they'd get so pissed about it." Arthur laughed sarcastically. "Sure, alright. Whatever you say."
"Arthur, please, I wouldn't do that," Alfred said frowning. "And how should I know that. And why should I believe, to me, all Jocks are the same.." He said. "Please. I'll do anything. Arthur, please." Alfred said in panic. Arthur glanced at Alfred. Arthur felt his heart ache when he saw how bad Alfred wanted to prove that he was a good guy and wouldn't do anything. He quickly turned his head blushing lightly unable to look at Alfred any longer. "Why...Why do you care so much about me..Just because we know some things is no reason..and because we just met is also no reason to care so much. Why are you so determined?" He asked. Alfred blushed. "Because you...because you make my heart flutter, that's gotta mean something..." Arthur glanced at Alfred a little. "....How do I do that? I haven't done anything, I haven't tried flirting with you or anything." He said. Alfred shook his head. "I don't know. You just do." Arthur blushed lightly. "Fine.." Alfred blushed furiously. "S-So...I mean...you're really cute...and...I...my heart gets fluttery around you and I'm tongue tied..." he hid his face in his arms against the table. "And I really want to fall in love with you, if I haven't already..." he murmered. Arthur's eyes widened and he blushed even more. "R-Really?...."He asked. Alfred nodded slowly. "I do..." Arthur sighed softly looking around a little then looked at Alfred. "Ok.." He said blushing. "Ok...?" Alfred smiled. He was blushing dark red. "I promise not to hurt you. I know you've been hurt before." Arthur scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Well what gave you that idea." He looked at Alfred obviously being sarcastic then laughed a little. Alfred leaned over the table, wrapping his arms around Arthur. Arthur blushed furiously and panicked a little. "A-Alfred..You're getting everyone's attention over here.." He pulled back, sitting back down. "I don't care if you don't." Arthur sighed. ".ok.." He said softly. Alfred smiled as the waitress came over, asking what they'd like. He gave her his order. Arthur just ordered fish and chips and a sweet tea to drink.
"So..do you think you're going to be kicked off the team?" He asked relating to the incident earlier. Alfred shrugged. "We get into fights a lot. I might though." He sighed. "If I do, I have other hobbies..."
"Don't you enjoy football though?" He asked. Alfred nodded. "I do." "Well..maybe you won't if you're any good at it." He said with a joking smirk. Alfred smiled. "Yeah," he picked up his drink as it was sat down. "Hey, will you go on a walk down the beach with me tonight? It sounds cliché but I...I think it's romantic." Arthur blinked then took a sip of his tea. "Hmm...I suppose I could." He said setting his drink down. "Thank you," Alfred sipped his soda. Arthur chuckled to himself at a thought he had. "Hm? What is it?" Alfred blinked. "Nothing. I just find it funny....Here I am all buddy buddy with my worst enemy." He said with a soft laugh. "You don't still think I'm a bad guy, do you?" Alfred fidgeted with his napkin. Arthur shook his head. "No. I didn't mean it like that." "Ok..." Alfred smiled. Arthur took another sip of his tea then looked out at the waves again. "Hey..." Alfred sighed. Arthur glanced at Alfred blinking. "What?" He asked. "I just, um, wanted to say ...IthinkI'malreadyinlivewithyousothereIsaiditIloveyou." He nervously laughed, blushing furiously. Arthur blinked. "What?"
"I...I think I'm already in love with you so there I said it I love you." Alfred said. Arthur blushed furiously. "Y-You're...." He hesitated. Alfred nodded, hiding his face in arms on the table again. "U-Um..." He couldn't think of any way to respond. Alfred held his breath nervously. "..I love you." "I heard you the first three times it's just..." He sighed. "I-I just.. don't know what to say. No one but my mom has acually told me that..." Alfred nodded. "I..." he licked his lips. "I just...wanted to tell you that..." Arthurs blush stayed on his cheeks. "A-Ah...Ok..." The waitress brought them their food. Alfred took a bite of his, blushing. Arthur sat queitly and ate, his cheeks red. Alfred finished his food, sighing nervously. "S-so, you wanted to go in the museum, right?" Arthur looked up at Alfred after finishing his own food. "Ah..Yes.." He said. "Then, let's go." He smiled. Arthur nodded and stood up. "Ok.." Alfred payed the bill, standing up and following him.
Arthur walked up the pier and stopped once he reached the museum he fiddled with the bottom of his t-shirt and looked down blushing furiously. Alfred blinked. "Wh-what...?" Arthur glanced around then looked at Alfred and looked back down blushing completely red, he gulped then grabbed Alfred's arm and gave him a quick kiss and let go going back to fiddling with his shirt and looking down, his face a dark red. Alfred blushed, heart thudding in his chest. He pulled Arthur in for another kiss. Arthur flailed a little, his heart beating loudly as he was kissed, He relaxed a bit and closed his eyes welcoming Alfred's kiss. Alfred slowly pulled his arms around Arthur, tipping him back slightly. He blushed bright red and knead his fingers into Arthur's hair. He smiled, pulling back an inch to breathe. His heart felt like it could explode. Arthur let out a small soft sigh and looked up at Alfred blushing. "M-Maybe we should go inside now.." He said quietly. Alfred nodded, breaking away and reaching for Arthur's hand. Arthur glanced down seeing Alfred's hand going towards his and he blushed lightly taking his hand and turning his head. Alfred smiled, walking into the museum. He was immediately caught off guard, staring in awe at the different model ships in a glass case. A siren song played on a hidden speaker. Arthur looked at the model ships but the only thing catching his attention were the weapons. Alfred followed Arthur's line of vision, gasping. "Wow..." Arthur walked over to the hall where the weapons were, a small smile formed across his lips. "These are amazing. Real weapons..restored to their orignal shine and beauty." He said holding back excitement. Alfred blinked, glancing over at Arthur's smile and blushing. He looked back to the weapons. "Yeah..." Arthur turned his head spotting a large area, "Hey check that out, he said as he walked over to it, there was a fake pirate ship built in the area where you could look around it and play on and in it. There was a small closet against a wall, Arthur walked over to it and opened it up gasping. "Whoa check this out." He said with a smile. Alfred nodded, following him around.
The closet was fill with different pirate clothing, Arthur changed into the red pirate captains outfit before Alfred came into the next area with him. He pointed a fake sword at Alfred as he came around the corner, he wore a small smirk on his face. Alfred blinked. "Is that real...?" Arthur shrugged. "I don't know if the clothing is real but." He took the tip of the sword and bent it. "This is fake." Alfred chuckled. "You look great, the pirate look is very fitting for you." Arthur smirked. "Of course." He placed his hands on his hips confidently. "My Ancestors were pirates." He said proudly. "Wow. Really?" Alfred smiled. Arthur nodded. "Yes indeed."
"Mine were, um, patriot fighters in the militia." He blushed awkwardly. "Really? That's pretty cool." He said then ran inside of the opening in the pirate ship and coming up onto the deck. "Say Alfred. Why don't we have a little fun. If you're PIRATE, enough." He chuckled. Alfred smirked. He nodded. "Be right up," he walked into the ship, glancing around and getting an idea. He found a set of stairs that wound up at several different places on the ship. Following those, he thoroughly left time for Arthur to question where he was.
He stepped out on board suddenly and quietly as Arthur studied the floor for him. Alfred wrapped one arm around both of Arthur's arms and one to his neck. "Looking for someone?" Arthur shrieked when he was suddenly grabbed then sighed when he found it was just Alfred. "Hey, what are you trying to do...choke me?" He coughed a little. Alfred slipped his hands back down to his sides, smiling. "Nope. Just wanted to see if I could sneak up on you." Arthur rubbed his neck, "Be careful when you wrap your arms around somsones neck. You are crazy strong." He said. Alfred gasped. "Oh, shit, I'm sorry." He pulled Arthur into a hug, kissing his neck and pulling back. Arthur blushed lightly, "It's fine, you didn't bruise anything, I don't think." "A-anyways, what is it you wanted to do up here?" "Just mess around. You know, just have a little fun, what's a beach trip without acting well foolish I guess." He said. Alfred grinned.
"Hey, want...want to have a sword fight?" Arthur smiled and drew out the fake sword he had. "Is that a challenge?" He asked with a smirk. Alfred pulled a fake sword he had picked up before he went in the ship out, licking his lips and chuckling. "I don't know, is it?" Arthur smirked giving Alfred the idea that he accepted, and he swung his sword at Alfred. "Ha, Need I remind you because my Ancestors were pirates I know my way around a sword dear Alfred!" He laughed. Alfred swung out of the way, clashing the two swords ogether with a plastic clink. Not as satisfying as metal, but it worked. He had the advantage of knowing his way around the full ship on his side. The question was, did he want to win? He held his sword to Arthur's. Arthur looked at Alfred for a moment then swung his sword again hitting Alfred's sword. He clashed their swords together multiple times. Alfred hummed. He blinked. What was arthur doing... Arthur smirked as he kept making Alfred go backwards as he swung his sword at him finally making him trip over some boxes. Arthur stood over him and pointed the sword at his face. "I win.” Alfred smiled. "So you have. Am I your captive now, captain?" Arthur blushed then jumped when he heard a stern voice.
"Hey what are you kids doing up there?!" A deep male voice called. Arthur turned around to see a black security guard standing at the bottom. "U-Uh nothing Officer." He said nervously. "Whatever you're doing be careful with those swords, they break easily." He yelled then walked off. "A-Ah..Yes sir!" Arthur replied and sighed in relief. Alfred laughed. "You ok? You look scared to death." Arthur turned and looked at Alfred then leaned down flicking him in the head and stood back up walking towards the stairs that lead to the bottom. "The guard startled me." He said puffing out his cheeks slightly as he walked down the stairs. Alfred smiled. "Hey, wanna go back to the hotel room and figure out what to do until we go walking on the beach?" he followed him out of the ship, putting his sword back. "Sure." He said as he removed the clothing and hung it back up, putting his own sword up.
