Chapter 2~ Arriving At The Beach
Alfred yawned, opening his eyes to a tapping feeling on his forehead. He groaned, back aching from the seat. "Are we there...?" Matthew nodded, running off with the Russian boy he had seated himself with. A teacher stood in front of the crowd of teenagers with a list. She blew into a whistle, yelling. "If any of you-OF THE SAME GENDER I SEE THAT GRIN MONICA- would like to claim parteners, choose now. Two students of the same gender both willing in a room each." The crowd seperated into two's, Matthew grabbing the Russian's arm instead of Alfred's. Alfred gasped. Shit. He had no one to room with now...The crowd finished seperating and Arthur and Alfred were left, freezing and staring at eachother. Arthur grimaced, he had, had a run in with Francis only a few minutes before, luckily he had gotten partnered with the Albino before he would have taken Arthur hostage. Four hour long bus ride with a flirty annoying jock who was now his roommate. Still a better choice than the french guy. Arthur sighed, "Oh...joy.." Alfred grinned, waving excitedly. "HEY ARTHUR! ARTHUR!" Arthur groaned an about rooming with the frog, it might not be a disaster, he then sighed and walked over to Alfred. "I'm stuck with you aren't I?.." He asked unamusedly. Alfred nodded. "I swear I'll be good." Arthur sighed, "Right.. That's promising..." Alfred waved his arms, "I won't draw you anymore I swea-" A loud whistle sounded. "Alright, go get your room keys at the front desk and find your rooms, you're free to go anywhere you like, just keep within this town." Arthur sighed and walked towards the hotel entrance, leaving Alfred behind. Alfred grabbed ihs room key and ran to find the room. He unlocked the door, walking in and glancing around. "Which bed do you want?" Alfred asked. Arthur set his bags down on one of the beds. "I guess this one." He said as he sat down on it. Alfred nodded, sitting his duffel down on the other one. He turned to Arthur. "So, um, what do you like to do at the beach?" He asked. Arthur shrugged "Just relax mainly. I sit on the beach and read." He said as he started unpacking. "Do you swim? Or go out to eat?" He asked curiously, sifting through his bag and pulling out clothes. "Hmm...sometimes. Whenever I go with my family, it's chaotic. But very rarely do swim...I normally, walk around the tide pools." He said with a sigh as he put up his things. Alfred pulled out his swim shorts, sitting them away from the rest of his clothes. "Will you go swimming with me later?" He asked.
Arthur groaned, "What are gonna ask me next? Go out to dinner with you?" He joked. Alfred perked up. "Why not?" Arthur glared, "You do know I was joking right?" He asked raising a brow. Alfred nodded cheerfully. "But why not? You're cute. It's something to do." Arthur blushed lightly. "No." He said stubbornly as he placed his bag in the closet. "Why?" Alfred asked, "Do you have a boyrfiend already who'd be jealous? Are you...Are you not gay? Did my gaydar fail me?" Arthur shook his head, "No. Yes I am. And no." He huffed. "Being gay doesn't mean I'll go out with anyone I just met who asks me." He scoffed. "But why?" Alfred asked. "Give me a good reason you won't. It's not like we're even going to do anything romantic it's just dinner." He rolled his eyes. "You're a jock and more than likely straight and as soon as I let my guard down you'll tell your teammates and I'll be humiliated for the rest my of life." He said sternly and laid on the bed. Alfred huffed, standing up and sliding onto the bed, leaning down and kissing Arthur, "Would a straight man do that?" He asked, voice low. Arthur's eyes widened and he blushed furiously pushing Alfred off the bed hearing a loud thud as he hit the floor. "DON'T JUST GO AROUND KISSING PEOPLE. AND DON'T THINK THAT WILL WORK ON ME." He yelled angrily and plopped back onto the bed laying on his stomach burying his face into a pillow. Alfred groaned. "Yeah? What do I have to do to prove it?I'll go out there and come out to the entire school. I've been wanting anways." He shrugged. "I don't want you to prove anything me. Why the fuck do you care anyway?" He asked, his voiced muffled through the pillow. Alfred grinned. "Because I like you. And I want to take you on a date. And I don't want you to think that I'm just tricking you." He said. "We just fucking met four hours ago and you're saying you like me. Ha never heard that one before." He scoffed. "What? I do. Come on. Let me prove it. Just tell how." He said with a soft sigh. Arthur clenched the pillow and sat sat up pulling his knees to his chest and wrapped his arms around his legs hiding his face. "Why does it matter..?.. I have dealt with the same things at every school I had to in my past...I don't believe anyone." He said trying not to sound like he was crying. Alfred's face softened. "It matters because you matter." He sat on the bed again, wrapping his arms around Arthur. Arthur kept his head turned and tried pushing Alfred away. "S-Since when do I matter??" He asked sternly. "Since the day you were born." Alfred whispered. "Please let me prove it, whatever you want. I am gay, Arthur." He said. "Fine. You're gay, I get it. I still won't go out with you. We just met. We know nothing about eachother..." He said with soft sniffles, his head still turned away. "Hm...I'm sixteen, I failed my permit test five times and still can't legally drive. I love poetry and art. I like football. My mom and dad are divorced, and my step mom is the only one ever home, so I don't really see either of them. My brother's name is Matthew. I have trouble waking up because I like my dreams. I have trouble going to sleep because I have too much fun when I'm awake. I like to party. I have never tried drugs. I am a virgin. I have tried one beer but it was with my step mom. This is my natural hair color. I am blind as a bat without my glasses. I like video games and I like being praised." He smiled. "You?" Arthur sighed and moved to he was sitting on his knees and wiped the tears from his eyes then looked at Alfred then looked straight ahead at the beach view. "My name is Arthur Kirkland, I'm sixteen, I'm from London, England, I have a cat named Lord Iggy. I like reading poetry and novels. I like Muse, I can play electric guitar. I live with my mom, I don't know what happened to my father, I have four brothers and they have all moved out. I am a virgin, nonstop being hit on by Francis. I have never partied, sometimes I go to the pub and have a few beers. I have a past I'd rather not remember and I like tea and people say I suck at cooking." He said sighing at the end. "See? We know about eachother now," Alfred smiled. "And I bet you're not that bad of a cook." Arthur sighed. "Yeah. You win. Now you can go gloat about it to your friends." He said unhappily. Alfred smiled, hugging him. "Why would I do that? They don't know I'm gay." Arthur grimaced but blushed lightly at the contact of Alfred hugging him. "But they probably wouldn't care since you're part of the team." He said. Alfred snorted. "Nah, they're homophobic, they'd care." He scoffed. "There's a surprise." Alfred smiled. "I really am gay. I know you think I'm not. But I am. And I really will prove it." Arthur shook his head. "I don't know how one can prove that." He said. "Well, I could...come out to the entire school. Or...you could call my step mom. She knows" Arthur stood up getting out of Alfred's grip. "No, I suppose I'll believe you." He said then grabbed his British flag designed swim trunks and headed to the bathroom to change.
Alfred smiled, grabbing his own and figuring he'd have time to change. He slipped his clothes and glasses off, groping around the room for his swimtrunks. He really couldn't see anything but a little color without them. Arthur walked out of the bathroom sighing and placing his folded clothes on the bed paying no attention to Alfred as he slipped on a T-shirt and dug a towel out of his bag. Alfred yelped. "DON'T LOOK i'M CHANGING CLOTHES...UH...WHERE'S MY GLASSES..." He felt around nervously while covering his privates with one hand. Arthur shook his head. "Why the bloody 'ell would I do that." He said digging in his bag for a book and sunscreen. "JUST WARNING YOU." He yelled, panicking. He sighed when he found his glasses and slipped his swim shorts on. "Got them. You can look now." His swim shorts were black and electric blue with an interesting futuristic theme to them. He had had on his normal glasses but he was digging in his suitcase for his prescription sunglasses. He slipped them on instead. Arthur rolled his eyes as pulled out the sunscreen and book. He placed them and his iPod into a small beach bag along with his towel, his sunglasses on his head so he could see where he was going until he got down to the shore. Alfred grinned. He internally couldn't help thinking of purses when he saw the bag but didn't say anything. Grabbing his room key, he hummed. Arthur walked out of the room and started making his way down to the beach. He stopped at a spot that was shaded by an umbrella and laid down his towel and sat down getting his book, sunscreen, and iPod out. Alfred smiled, making a run for the water and yelping, running back in the shadow. "HOT SAND. HOT SAAAAND." Arthur looked up at Alfred and shook his head and started putting the sunscreen on himself. Alfred sighed running back out and ignoring the sand. Reaching the water and happily jumping in. Arthur put his headphones in and laid back and began reading the book. Alfred ran up to Arthur excitedly a few minutes later. "Hey, we're about to go get lunch at a place on the pier, please come with me."
