"Stupid ragazza, it's not like that!" Lovino scolded his partner Maria during Home Economics. At this point, he was tempted to throw his cheese grater at his partner. "Who the fuck places pieces of lechon in a pizza?"

Maria felt offended and scoffed. "It's what you call being creative, something you're obviously not! Why don't we just try it? It might taste good, you know!"

"Whatever, I'm not up for your stupido fantasies!" Lovino turned away from Maria and continued to grate the cheese.

"Oh, so you're ignoring me now?" Maria held a frying pan close to Lovino's ear and clanged a ladle against it loudly. Lovino cringed at the noise. For quite a long time, since they were both little, they always rivaled against each other, so it was no surprise that they yelled at each other when they realized they were partners for the cooking project.

"Stop it!" Lovino hissed.

"I'm not going to stop until you apologize!" Maria said.

"Fuck you! I'm the one who has to apologize?"

Maria banged the ladle against the frying pan louder in an attempt to tease Lovino, which evidently worked. "I can't hear you~!"

Lovino threatened to throw the cheese grater at Maria. He would've done so, but Maria laughed. For a moment, it seemed like the world had stopped. Maria laughed, and it was a wonderful sound. All they ever even did to each other these days was scowl, tease, provoke, and yell. It's been so long since he heard Maria's laughter...even if she was laughing at him. Before he even knew it, a small smile escaped from Lovino's lips.

Maria suddenly stopped making noise with the frying pan and gasped. "Y-You smiled!"

Lovino quickly picked up the cheese grater and turned his back against her. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Lovino, your smile is wonderful. Antonio didn't lie when he said you had a wonderful smile."

"Stop trying to flirt with me, I should be the one doing that. Not you."

"So you admit that you're flirting with me? Aw, Lovino, how sweet!" Maria smiled sweetly.

"Ah, screw you!" but Lovino could stop another smile from escaping. Maria suddenly went in front of him and shoved a piece of the lechon pizza into his mouth. Lovino's eyes widened as he chewed on the weird combination. "Hey, it does taste good."

"See? Told you."
