Chapter 6: Some truth
Gabriel's p.o.v
The next day my entire back was sore, especially near my shoulder blades. I tried my best to stay still but the occasional muscle spasm would cause my shoulders to jerk forward, adding to the already inflicted pain. Groaning I raised myself into my good arm, looking over the span of the living room I noticed it was just turning dawn. Laying back down onto my stomach I closed my eyes again, trying to ignore the stinging sensation on my back as best I could. As the pain slowly subsided I tried falling back asleep, hopefully sole more rest can help with the pain. Sighing I waited out for sleep to come, but it never did, so I just laid there, the pain now just a light throb as seconds ticked by.
As sunlight began to make its way through the windows I heard footsteps walking upstairs, figuring it was just [Your Name] I paid no mind to it. As the footsteps made their way downstairs I saw [Your Name] walk down the hallway, smile towards me some and walk into the kitchen, I followed her movements as best as I could, watching her as she did her daily routine I suppose. A few minutes later she came back into the room where I am, a bowl in her hands with steam rising from the top of it. She smiled at me again and say down in front of me.
"Are you feeling any better?" She asked, placing the bowl next to her.
"My back still hurts, but not as ouch as yesterday." She smiled and nodded.
"I made you some soup, if you're hungry." I nodded and she helped me sit up, being careful not to let me lean back on my wounds. Settling for leaning forwards, my arms at my side as [Your Name] fed me soup. It was a nice gesture, I didn't want to tell her that I could easily fed myself but I guess she wanted me to rest as much as possible, which I understood. After she finished she set aside the bowl and places her hands on her lap.
"Can I ask you a few questions?" She asked and I nodded. She smiled quickly as if to say thank you. "Do you have any family that you'd like me to contact?" I paused briefly, in thought, there's Cas she should call but he's probably dealing with his own crap. Guess I have to settle for lying.
"I don't have any family that lives anywhere remotely, or anywhere in this country." I said, hoping she would buy it. She nodded in response.
"How did you really fall from the sky? You said you were on a plane but no plane would ever fly out in this kind of weather." I froze, shit, there's really no way I can go around this without telling her the truth and even if I did she'll think I'm batshit crazy. Sighing I looked at her, her gaze held steady on mine and she looked ready for almost anything that came out of my mouth.
"I don't know how to answer that." She squinted some, probably not believing me.
"Why not?"
"I just don't know how I got here."
"Well you must have some answer for how you got here." Avoiding her gaze I mulled over on what to tell her, if I keep lying to her she'll never trust me and if I lie she'll probably kick me out to send me to an mental hospital. Sighing once more I glanced back at her.
"No matter what I say, you have to believe me, okay?" She nodded slowly, not wanting to interrupt me. "Now I know this sounds crazy, believe me I do, but I fell from heaven..I'm an angel." I looked at her from the corner of my eye and expected her to be confused only to see her laughing, her eyes squinting as she covered her mouth with her hand. Looking at her fully I looked at her oddly. She stood up, calming down from her laughing fit.
"Get some rest Gabriel, you clearly hit your head hard enough to believe that you're an actual angel." She chuckled and picked up the bowl and went into the kitchen. Taking a breath of relief I relaxed my shoulders from the tension, at least she believes I'm just delusional which I guess is good, better than being a liar and crazy. She came back into the room and helped me lay back down.
"I'll check on you later okay? I'm gonna attempt to get the spare firewood from the shed." I nodded as she left upstairs, presumably to get her winter gear on. I closed my eyes and relaxed into the couch, falling into a dreamless sleep.
