Terrified
A/n: Enjoy this new chapter! Sorry it's so short😥
Sans' POV
Wandering through the area that connected to the door of The Ruins,I found myself taking a different route, absently weaving around trees. This path was one I'd never used and,by the lack of tracks in the snow,no one else does, either, though that just made the atmosphere more of an undisturbed one,not unsettling in the least. Smiling to myself,I hummed a tune, one with no real end. As I walked deeper down this path I started tracing a pattern in the air with my blue magic,a relaxed feeling overwhelming me.
It seemed as though the peace didn't last as I then heard soft crying,I abruptly stopped humming, listening to see if I'd heard it right and,I did,the sobbing continuing. The way the thing was crying gave me the feeling it didn't want to be discovered,so I slowly took steps towards whatever the thing was. Taking it slow as to not blatantly give myself away,I eventually came to the source behind a tree. Taking a small breath and mentally preparing myself for what i was about to see,I peeked around and was surprised at what I saw,my eyesockets widening.
Your POV
Pressing myself into the bark of the wood,I sobbed softly, curling into myself as a cold feeling gnawed at me,chilling me to my core. Shivering,I tried to keep my noise down, not wanting to be caught by one of the giant creatures I'd seen roaming in the wood. Being so concerned with trying to keep my noise down,I failed to notice the soft crunches of snow that approached my area. This mistake, however, decided to make itself known as I heard a surprised gasp from way above me.
My eyes widened,my breath hitching as my head snapped up to meet the gaze of the creature that had found me. Fear dug itself into my chest as I locked gazes with a skeleton, two pools of tar contrasting the glowing pinpricks in the center of them. Making a quick observation of it's face,I saw it's smile drawn across it's face, breaking all of the logic I previously had, then again,I didn't even know a giant skeleton could exist until today. Though I interpreted it as a smile of interest like a scientist who'd just found a new test subject.
This thought brought me back to the situation as I scrambled away from the giant skeleton,my chest heaving as my heart beat my ribcage. "Calm down, kid,I ain't gonna hurt ya." the skeleton tried to assure me,it's voice deep, indicating it's gender to be male. His words seemed to try and assure me as he stepped into my sight and I shivered,he was HUGE. Shuffling backwards,I watched the skeleton warily, not trusting him as he knelt down,me just out of his reach.
Sans' POV
Lowering myself onto my 'stomach' I rested my skull on my crossed arms, but now I got a closer look at the kid,I got concerned, their clothes were drenched, their whole body was shaking and their chest rose and fell rapidly. "What happened to ya kid?" I asked them, reaching out to try and comfort them, getting the reaction I expected, them backing away from my hand, fear in their gaze. They looked to be trying to make out words but ended up just not speaking, pulling my hand back,I asked,"Do you wanna go somewhere warmer than here?" A hesitant nod was my response so I sat up,setting my hand palm-up in the snow and smiling encouragingly at them.
Your POV
My initial reaction was to stand up and back away from his hand,my breathing getting fast and my eyes were wide as I knew he could just crush me instantly. Though when I realised he wasn't going to forcefully pick me up,I shivered but took a few steps toward the wide platform of bone in a sort of test to see if I could trust him. Looking up at his face,I saw him smiling encouragingly at me and I was surprised. Mustering up some courage,I stepped onto the hand, sitting in the center, shivering in fear, scrunching my eyes closed as I felt the surface underneath me moving.
Feeling a light pressure on my head,I opened one of my eye and glanced up,my heart freezing as I saw one of his boney digits resting on my head, rubbing my head slightly. This action, though terrifying, was slightly calming and I felt my tense muscles loosening, barely noticing that he had continued walking. He chuckled and I just ignored this, focusing on the comforting motion that had continued, even when he was walking. He whispered something underneath his breath and smiled down at me.
