Narrator's POV
A blur of black that blended into the darkest corners of the trees traversed the giant camp. It seemed a trick of the light to any bystanders, the speed of the figure inhuman compared to anything normal. After the blur slowed to a halt in a secluded area was the only time that any of them showed. Dulled (E/c) orbs were narrowed, the rest of their face hidden by a dark black hood as they drew deep breaths, their eyes darting around as they muttered to themselves incoherently. But when a continuous string of thuds approached them, they froze.
Your POV
No. No. No. NO. There wasn't supposed to be any of them here! My thoughts rushed around widely as I looked for somewhere to blend in,I scanned around and spotted a patch of shadows underneath the low hanging branches of a nearby tree. At a speed that would look like something only The Flash would be capable of,I dived behind the bark of the tree, looking around for those pesky cameras that seem to be positioned everywhere. Sighing in relief when I didn't find any,I focused on the situation at hand, curiosity crept into my system so I snuck a glance around the tree trunk and my blood turned cold.
None of my training for this specific situation could compare to the real thing, the monster stood tall, around 30x my height. Noticing the cellphone grasped in it's hand,I grew suspicious of it's motives. The skeleton looked to be distracted as he talked through the phone to someone on the other side, huge eye lights flickering over the forest like a camera as if they were looking for something,my only question was what? Unfortunately the skeleton was using such a quiet tone,I couldn't make out what the conversation was and this drove me insane.
Little did I know I'd been moving forward in an attempt to hear what was going on,my paranoia taking me by the shoulders as it clicked the button to end the call. It was only then I realised I was about a foot out in the open and my black uniform stood out in the white snow. A curse escaped my lips,a huge mistake as the skeleton's eye lights that had been scanning the area around the trees were now locked onto my (E/c) orbs. It's gaze locked me on the spot,it was even more terrifying than my parents could ever describe to me,even with all of their gruesome descriptions of what monsters were capable of.
Sans' POV
Looking at the tiny figure dressed in black that stood out boldly against the plain white snow,I was surprised 'So this is what all of monster kind is afraid of?'I thought to myself as I looked at the tiny figure. Only their eyes were visible and they were wide in fear as an unsettling silence washed over us,the only sound was of the wind as it brushed past, knocking the tiny figure off balance. Though I'd heard all of those terrifying tales of what the Ninja did in the past,I knelt down and held out a hand to steady them mainly because I saw just how afraid they were, making me slightly sympathetic.
As soon as they caught their balance, they backed away from my hand, looking like they wanted to sprint off at any given moment, their eyes flickering between me and my hand that I retreated back to my body. Their eyes never left me as I looked at them blankly, wondering what to do next. All of their muscles were tense as I sat myself in a more comfortable position, keeping a watch on them, when I was situated in a comfortable way,I locked gazes with the ninja, confusion was mixed in their eyes as well as undeniable distress and I mentally noted it.
This was a new situation so I started with a basic question,"So kid, what's a ninja doing in monster territory?" I was genuinely starting to grow concerned for the ninja as I knew most of us didn't take kindly to the ninja. They went rigid and broke their gaze from mine, looking down at the snow, kicking a small pile of snow from under their foot,a tense atmosphere hung over us and I desperately groped at any idea that would ease them, even if just a bit. Then an idea formed in my head and I grinned to myself, chuckling under my breath.
Narrator's POV
(Y/n)'s head snapped to look up at the monster as he chuckled to himself in a mischievous manner, their eyes wide with fright at the sudden noise emerging from the skeleton, not liking the way he chuckled like he was going to do something stupid, "Well,we've gotta start somewhere,I'm Sans, and you are.." He left the question open ended in a hope that the ninja would at least tell him their name, after a short silence, they responded,"(Y-y/n)" their tone was timid as they stated their name. Sans grinned in accomplishment responded,"Nice to meet you,(Y/n)."
(Y/n) smiled underneath their mask,'Maybe, just maybe, monsters aren't all that bad.' they contemplated, since nothing as horrifying as tales would tell had happened during their interaction with Sans. "Yo-ou to-to." (Y/n) stuttered, still having an uncertain tone in their voice as they still had that negative train of thought nagging the back of their head constantly. He reached out a hand to (Y/n) and they flinched back, tensing up,only to find he was offering them his index finger as a handshake scaled down.
