Peso prepared the anesthetic. Of course, it was the middle of the night, but he seemed wide awake as Candy, Zaria, Neon, and Skye helped him do that.

Everyone else on the Octopod was fast asleep, not a doubt it was the middle of the night. That's when Peso finds the right time for operations as there's no one around to cause annoyance.

Zaria held the anesthetic machine's mask, while Neon was on the switch, waiting for the medic's signal. Candy and Skye stood on the side.

"Okay, Zaria. You can put the mask on her." Peso said.

With a quiet nod, Zaria cautiously put the mask on Xuli's face, just so she can be out long enough for this operation to end.

"Switch it on, Neon." Said Peso.

Neon switched the machine, and the anesthetic rolled in and Xuli was clearly breathing it in.

"Okay, girls. We can begin." He said. The fangirls nodded.

Peso cut open Xuli's skin to her ankles, and used a bone-saw to carefully cut the bones, and, with help from the fangirls put the brace on. Stitches were also added to the wound and supporters on the broken arm. And after a LOT of stitching --and a bit of magic-- they finished the operation. The fangirls wiped the blood off of Xuli's body and their fingers and Zaria put the mask off of Xuli.

"Well done, fangirls. The operation is complete. You can take a break now." Peso said.

As he stepped out of the Sick Bay, the girls had a quiet chat...

Xuli still lay unconscious. Of course, she guessed she was in the Sick Bay, only she didn't know how badly she was hurt.

She felt what felt like chocolate anesthetic sit in her mouth. It tasted pretty sweet, but anesthetic means...

Was she having an operation?

She heard the four of the fangirls' voices:

"You think she'll be alright, guys?"

"You're kidding. She's Xuli!!! She always makes it in the end."

"I hope you're right, Candy. That seemed like a pretty awful crash earlier."

"Hopefully Glitch comes nowhere near these premises. That's the last thing we could use right now."

But then...

Xuli woke up on the sound of a loud, shrill, scream. The dark, faint, outline of Lily's hospital bed. The girl was meant to be sound asleep on the bed but as Xuli's vision cleared she saw...

Nothing..?

Lily can't just disappear into thin air.

But the feeling of panic grasped Xuli so hard she began to scream so loud lots of doctors came running into the room, Abigail in the lead. It only took one look on the empty bed to turn the young doctor white.

"What. Happened. Now." She demanded.

"I-I have no idea!" Xuli said innocently, "I heard her scream, then it was gone. I opened my eyes and she was gone!"

Nurse Rita bent down to pick something up.

"Ab, look!" She said, "this might give us a hint of where Lily is!"

It was a note?

Abigail looked at the note, read it over and over again, then...

"Xuli, you'd better get back to Jet Pad. You and your team need to save her before it's too late."

"But we don't know where she is!" Xuli said.

"I can solve that," Said Abigail, "in her little hair clip, the purple flower one with the yellow diamond in the middle, the one she got from Mum after she died. A tracker was placed in the diamond, just in case her original one breaks. It might tell us exactly where she is!" 

Everyone dashed out of the room without another word, leaving Xuli alone in there.

How come I've been so silly as to let a girl slip between my fingers like that? Xuli thought as she ran off with the doctors.

A few minutes later she was in the JetPad with her team, flying to Grim HQ to try to get Lily to safety before it was too late.

When they got there, however, they heard what sounded like Glitch's yells and Lily's little whispers. The girl sounded frantic and weak.

"Quick! Who knows what kind of chaos is he doing to her right now!" I said. My team and I hopped out of JetPad and into Grim HQ. 

It was horrifying: Lily lay limp and weak on the rough floor, with Glitch standing in front of her with a knife in his hand.

"Say goodbye, child..." Glitch said.

"LILY!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Xuli screamed, running toward the child.

Too late, the knife hits Lily's chest...

Right where she got shot.

"Too late, No Jetter...she's going..."

Lily's eyes turn lifeless...

"Going..."

Her entire body thuds to the floor.

"Gone..."

She gives her soul away.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" Xuli screamed and began to wail.

Glitch flew off, but before he left he said something to Ubercorn:

"If you hadn't lied to her for all these years she could've still been alive right now..."

He flew off.

Ubercorn ran to Lily and lifted up her lifeless body and put his ear on her chest, hoping for heartbeat of any signs of life.

A minute later he looks up at us, tears in his eyes...

"I'm sorry, Go Jetters. But Lily's..."

Oh, God, don't say it...

"...dead."

It was like something had left Xuli and went down into the roots of the ground and never to come back. Lily lay on the floor, weak, dead, gone...

Xuli remembered a woman with dark hair also and laying in a coma, on her way to death. Bailey had told her that the woman was her very own mother.

I guess Lily has met the same end as her mother...

Xuli wept. Kyan's comforting arm went around her shoulder. She didn't notice it, though.

She just kept weeping for a long, long time.

Although she was now out of that horrid flashback, never in a million years had she wanted to be there, or in any of those flashbacks. First she saw her parents die, then she saw an innocent seven-year-old girl die in the most violent fashion.

Why did her life had to be filled with so much sad events? Ubercorn had said that she never deserved all those things, and Xuli agreed half a million times.

Moment after moment after moment after moment...

She felt so fed up.

Candy, Zaria, Skye, and Neon were still in the Sick Bay, but Candy could just make out a small tear on Xuli's cheek.

"Guys!" She whispered, "Look!"

The fangirls saw the tear.

"Poor Xuli! You think she's hurt?"

"She's already hurt, Zaria."

"I meant hurt internally."

"Yeah. I think she's having painful flashbacks."

"Hang on, let me try read her mind."

Skye focused her energy and read Xuli's mind.

"Yeah, she's having flashbacks, and she's ending one now."

"Which one?"

"When Lily died."

"Yeah, she was so upset when Glitch stabbed the kid in front of Xuli's eyes."

"I hope she's alright, though..."

The fangirls sat down without a word. Silence engulfed the Sick Bay once more...
