Inspired by the song Midnight by Creeper
Staring ahead at the mirroring figure, sought out like one last lifeline. A silhouette against the sun, framed by the drifting snow. He kept his footing still, wondering how or even why the other was there. But alas, they were both ankle deep in snow, miles away anyone else who resided in that biome.
Eyes that bared many emotions surveyed him carefully. "Don't look at me that way," he shouted, maybe wondering if the other body was a mirage. Maybe hoping avoid the upcoming pain that the familiar surge of feelings brought.
The light amongst them dimmed and the other walked forward with the darkness of his soul thumping against the growing wind. "Fundy, I can't stay long."
"Then why did you come at all?" He questioned, knowing how idiotic his husband could be for being away.
"Because I need you. And you need me. Tell me you wouldn't embrace when the other turn their heads."
"Dream, go back," Fundy dismissed. It was late and though midnight used to belong to them, the world had caught up and took it away. "Because every time we touch I fall apart and I can't do that anymore."
"Fundy—" Dream trudged forward in the sharp air. The cold biting them with no heaven or hell taunting them. It was just them in their lonesome as the moon ascends above them. He reached forward, turning Fundy to face him. "My love, please," he begged, "don't be so bitter. I know that everything is wrong but please."
With the moon so high they felt so low. Fundy brought a hand to Dream's cheek that worked up shivers through him.
