• anything other than being with you
The starless and empty dark sky of the end only grew in his vision. Dream watched Sapnap slip from the edge of the stone and join them in his descent into the abyss. But Dream reached into his back pocket and pulled out his last pearl, taking one last throw, he watched the green ender pearl connect with the yellow end stone, grinning in confidence as the feeling of teleporting came to.
"No," Sapnap screamed, "he has a pearl—."
But it was too late as Dream was already climbing back up to safety, pulling out a crossbow to snipe the dragon from the sky. Enough arrows had connected with black scales for the other four hunters to realize that the hunt was far from over. George, Ant, and Sam had blocked off the dragon's perch as Dream approached, axe swinging tiredly by his side.
He threw the weapon over his shoulder, bouncing on his toes and ready to pull the first swing. "Ready to lose?" Dream shouted with faux confidence, a smirk beneath his mask that could sellout stadiums.
"That's what we should be saying to you," Ant yelled back. The three stepped forward with weapons raised. In the corner of his vision, Dream saw Sapnap return from the spawn area, already meeting up with Bad to retrieve his stuff.
"Alright," he said. Dream cracked his neck and rolled back his shoulders as he tightened his grip on the axe.
"Let's fight," he called out with a grin.

Respawn was a bitch, let Dream tell you that. It was fine for the hunters during the actual hunt, but compared to when it officially ends, a death and immediately respawning in a different world can take a toll on one's body.
Bad was kneeled in front of him with a bottle of water as he adjusted to the surroundings. He could hear and feel every buzz of life on that server as his code reconnected with it all. Even on the side of his neck, he could feel where the blade quickly broke skin until no other thoughts came to, bringing them back to spawn on his own server. Someone said something but all the words turned muffled once it hit Dream's ears.
"I'm sorry?" The masked man mumbled back, afraid he missed something important.
"I said,''Do you want someone to stay with you tonight?'' Sam repeated, "You look like you could use some company."
Dream shook his head, burying himself deeper into his hoodie. "'M good," he said, throwing a thumbs up in the air, but no one was convinced.
"I can drop Dream off at Fundy's, he'll probably be happy to watch over him for the night," Sapnap suggested, kneeling down next to Bad.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I mean they're married aren't they?" He rubbed circles into Dream's back and nudged him to stand up slowly. "Dream, is that alright?"
And to whatever weak response was given, the plan was finalized. Sapnap ended up just picking up Dream and letting him rest on his back as they walked over to Fundy's home. The night was fairly quiet and there didn't seem to be much conflict around in the nearest chunks, all assuring Dream some good rest for the time being.
After two or so knocks on the door, Sapnap lowered Dream down and wrapped a supportive arm around his shoulders as they waited for the fox hybrid to open the door.
"Hey! Oh—" Fundy quickly brought his voice to a softer tone as he noticed Sapnap beside Dream. "How'd it go?" He asked as Dream slowly drifted towards him and into his arms.
"He's a little worn out," Sapnap whispered, also handing over a sack of Dream's weapons. "And I thought it wouldn't hurt to bring him to your place tonight rather than being alone."
"Yeah," Fundy nodded, "sleep can do some good for tonight. Tomorrow we'll take care of the headache." They exchanged quick goodbyes and goodnights before Fundy waved farewell with one hand as the other raked through locks of blond.
"Hey, Dream," he said, regarding the 6 '2 green cladded baby leaning on his shoulder. "Are you with me right now?"
"Tired," was all he responded with. Fundy nodded slowly and kicked the door closed.
He guided him through the house and upstairs. "Yeah, c'mon let's get you to bed."
"What if I..." Dream yawned, he shook his head, rubbing his eyes beneath the mask. "What if I don't wanna go to bed?"
"Then you're not being convincing enough, come on, D." Fundy reached for the hem of the green hoodie, looking up at the mask and slipping off the sweatshirt. The blond gave no resistance as he only pressed more into Fundy's side.
"You're warm," he murmured, wrapping his arms around Fundy's waist. "And cozy..."
"And you're stinky," Fundy replied, patting his shoulder. He settled Dream's chin in his palm and unclipped the mask. Looking up at him we're green eyes underlined with dark rings. Fundy tilted his head in thought, then bringing Dream's chin forward as he laid a soft kiss on his partner's lips. "Now if you have enough energy to resist sleep, I'll assume you have enough to go take a shower."
The admin groaned, pulling Fundy towards the bed, making the ginger stumble and nearly fall on top of him. "No, no, no, we are going to sleep now," Dream sighed.
Fundy chuckled, pulling back the covers and getting situated, only for Dream to press against him completely, showing no regard for personal space this evening. "Well not only are you stinky, but you're clingy as well."
"Shut up, I just respawned, I don't smell that bad."
"It's even worse than after an MCC tournament—"
"Oh my god," Dream reached over, lightly laying his hand over Fundys mouth. "Shh, I'll take a shower first thing tomorrow."
"That means no sleeping in cuddles, yknow?"
"Woah, wait. We're still in bed, that is only the transition from now to tomorrow."
"Hey now, I don't want to snuggle with some old stinky guy that showed up at my house in the middle of the night."
Fundy heard a loud and appalled gasp. Dream's body sat up and turned to look down at Fundy in shock. "Really?" He exclaimed. He held up his hand, gold glimmering in the form of a ring in the scarce light of the room. "You married this old stinky guy that shows up at your house in the middle of the night." He laid back down, resting his head on Fundy's chest. "And you committed to it." Reaching over for Fundy's left hand, interlocking. "And to think you didn't love me because of my clout."
The fox hybrid rolled his eyes. "Alright, then before breakfast?"
"Well, does a day actually start before breakfast?"
"Dream."
"Okay, okay," Dream yawned. "What else are we doing tomorrow."
"We?"
"I cleared my whole week cause manhunts burn me out, and I don't really want to do anything other than," Dream yawned a second time, along with squeezing Fundy's hand. "Anything other than being with you."
"Well aren't you cute," Fundys huffed. He ruffled blond strands beneath his fingers and hummed. "We'll figure it out later. Just get some rest, D."
He felt the other nod, a soft whisper he could barely make out. He smiled at the ceiling above him as the words "love you" swam through his ears.
