Adelaide (Heidi) Lily Potter-Black is an orphan. Well she believes she is an orphan. She'd lived in an orphanage as long as she can remember. She thought she'd never leave until she turned 18. But then she got her Hogwarts letter and she starts to discover more about her past and family. Her mother was Jules Potter and father Sirius Black. She was only 6 months old when her mother died. Then only 8 months old when her aunt and uncle died. James and Lily Potter. And her father was sent to Azkaban. She was sent to live in a muggle orphanage. How will Harry react to having a cousin? How will Heidi react to her father being alive? And being a convicted murderer? Lets find out.

(1992-1993) Heidi's POV

Hi, I am Heidi and I'm an orphan. I thought I'd never leave the orphanage until I turned eighteen. But then I got my Hogwarts letter in July. I was ecstatic. The Deputy Headmistress, who is also my Transfiguration professor came to help me with my school books and gave me my train ticket. I caught the train on September 1st at eleven. I was sorted into Gryffindor and I found out there was someone with the surname Potter in the year above me.

I've always been curious about who my parents were and why I was raised in an orphanage. So I decided to research the Potter and Black families. Professor McGonagall warned me that I may not like what I find. But I persisted. She was right, I wasn't not thrilled by the Black history and pray I don't turn out like them. But the Potters all seem like decent wizards. I found out a Jules Potter had married a Sirius Black and wonder if they are my parents.

In the family tree I found. It listed that Jules Potter had a brother, James Potter who has a son Harry Potter. Who is the boy in second year with the Potter surname. Could we be cousins? I could never work up the courage to ask him. Until the end of my first year.

"Hello" I say shyly from his bed side.

"Oh hello, do I know you?" he asks me.

"No, I'm friend of Ginny's" I tell him. "I wanted to ask you something" I state.

"Shot" he tells me.

"Do you know a Jules Potter?" I ask him curious.

"No, should I?" he asks me confused. I frown sadly, I guess we aren't related.

"No" I mumble as his friends appear. "I hope you get well soon" I tell him and leave the hospital wing. I return to my dorm room to pack as we'll be leaving for home tomorrow. Well I'll be returning to the orphanage. Which is no home. Hogwarts feels more like a home than that vial place I am forced to live.

(Hospital wing) Third Persons POV

"Who was she?" Ron asks Harry.

"No idea" Harry answers. "I never got her name" he admits.

"Honestly" Hermione says shaking her head.

"She asked if I knew a Jules Potter and I said no" Harry tells her.

"How do you not know who Jules Potter is?" Hermione demands surprised.

"Why? Who is she?" Harry asks her.

"Your father's sister, you aunt" she answers as if it was obvious.

"I have another aunt?" Harry asks her shocked.

"Yes, how did you not know?" she asks me.

"I always thought dad was an only child my aunt and uncle never mentioned him having a sibling" he explains.

"Well they probably didn't know her" Ron offers.

"Why didn't she raise me?" Harry asks Hermione.

"Because she died Harry, about two months before your parents did" Hermione tells him sadly.

"I wonder why that girl wondered if you knew a Jules Potter?" Ron muses. Harry just shrugs, but makes a mental note to ask her the next time he sees her. Meanwhile Hermione was trying to remember what she knew about Jules Potter.

(Time skip to September 1st 1993)

Heidi is sitting with Ginny and their friend Luna when the train breaks down. Ginny decided to go visit her brother and Heidi goes with her. Luna assured them she'd be fine on her own. They find Ron's carriage and Heidi avoids looking at Harry.

She'd found out over the summer that her birth father is alive and mass murderer. It was in the paper the widower Sirius Black, husband of the late Jules Potter had escaped Azkaban. He'd been placed there after killing 12 muggles and 1 wizard. It mentioned a daughter, but luckily it was her full name and not the name she goes by. So hopefully no one will connect her to him. She'd hate to become an even bigger out cast because of him.

Suddenly a soft, crackling noise, and a shivering light filled the compartment. Professor Lupin appeared to be holding a handful of flames. They illuminated his tired, gray face, but his eyes looked alert and wary. "Stay where you are" he tells us. Heidi hear the door open behind me and turn backing away scared as she see scabby slimy hand opening it.

An intense cold sweeps over them all. Heidi could feel her own breath catch in her throat. She shivers as as her eyes roll back and she faints. Hearing the terrifying screams of a woman. Lupin catches her as Harry to faints. He curses and sends a patronus at the dementor. Driving it away before lowering Heidi to the ground. He understands why the dementor would effect Harry, but why her? He wonders.

When they both wake. Professor Lupin gave them all chocolate and left to talk to the driver. Heidi ate her's in silence, feeling better while the others talked about what had happened. "Are you ok?" Hermione asks her.

"I'm fine" Heidi mumbles.

"Who screamed?" Harry asks them.

"No one screamed" Ron tells him.

"Yes they did, it sounded like a woman" Heidi states.

"You heard her too?" Harry asks her and she nods her head mutely. Professor Lupin returned and told them they'd arrive in ten minutes. Heidi left with Ginny to go get into her robes. Once at school, Professor McGonagall saw Harry, Heidi and Hermione before letting them go to the feast.

(Preview of second chapter)

Heidi is at the quidditch match with Ginny. It's gryffindor vs hufflepuff instead of gryffindor against slytherin. It bucketing down with rain and there is lighting. When Harry chased after Cedric who had found the snitch. The dementors appeared. Two voices fill his and Heidi's heads.

"Not Harry, not Adelaide, please not them!" the woman screamed.

"Stand aside, you silly girl...stand aside, now..." a man orders.

"Not them, please no, take me, kill me instead" the woman pleads. The man laughs and Heidi's world goes dark as she faints. Harry to faints and falls off his broom.

"Heidi!" Ginny shouts as her friend collapsed beside her. As the crowd gasps as they see Harry free falling through the clouds. Another flash of lighting illuminates the sky, revealing the dementors. Dumbledore sent them away with a patronus and Harry was taken to the hospital wing along with Heidi. On stretchers.
