Appearance:
Personality:
Ravi is a quiet individual who has a tendency to keep most of his thoughts to himself. He does a lot more listening to others than he does speaking about himself and how he feels. This has allowed for a slow bottling up of emotions, and there isn't any telling if he's gonna eventually talk to someone or if this buildup is going to lead to a potential outburst.
His experiences in the past have easily taught him that his job is very serious, and it requires serious people to do that job. So, he maintains a relatively serious exterior, often to the point where his attempts at making subtle jokes during more leisurely times can go unnoticed.
Ravi has shown himself to be much more cautious during his missions. Despite this cautious behavior, it seems he still retains some of his impulsiveness that he had prior to losing his leg and a portion of his wing, he's willing to risk his life time after time for the sake of ensuring the safety of not only his co-workers but whoever they might be rescuing too.
There has been a previous instance where his impulsive behavior and willingness to sacrifice himself was misinterpreted as some mildly romantic 'I would die for you' thing by a stranger, but that sort of concept is rather far fetched when it comes to Ravi, especially if this is something being perceived by a complete stranger. Truth be told, Ravi has an extremely lacking self-worth. Although, it's hard to pinpoint if he's depressed or something, given that he takes care of himself just fine. This would be something best discussed privately if it ever becomes a topic of conversation.
Ravi absolutely has PTSD from the loss of his leg and part of his wing, having been plagued with frequent nightmares and specific fears.

Likes:
The stars.
Incense. He likes the aroma incense provides, as it helps reduce stress.
Scented candles. Ravi loves the smell of pine trees, so it's not odd for him to occasionally search for such items whenever The Nebula docks on a planet for resupplies and other purposes..
Ravi likes to take naps. His missions tend to get pretty exhausting, so taking naps is his way of coping with the exhaustion.
Flying. Given that he's a bird that is capable of flight, it would make perfect sense for him to like flying. This ability becomes heavily valued after Ravi loses a portion of one of his wings.
Physical touch. This includes hugs, cuddling, etc. Ravi hesitantly seeks this out specifically when he's formed a solid bond with another individual. When it comes to more newly met individuals, Ravi seems to enforce some strong boundaries that generally avoid physical contact.
Ravi likes blackberry cheesecake as an occasional dessert.
In regards to an actual meal that Ravi likes, he likes butter chicken.
Dislikes:
Having a messy room. Ravi can't tolerate sleeping in a messy room, and may find himself cleaning up whatever might've been bothering him to begin with.
Ravi doesn't like having to face dangerous situations during his work, especially if those situations involve fighting off alien wildlife.
Ravi doesn't like getting his hands dirty when eating. It feels rather.. childish? Ravi doesn't know what brought this dislike around, but it exists for him now.
Ice cream.
Ravi doesn't normally like the idea of getting into intimate, let alone highly romantic relationships. This dislike was developed when he lost his leg. This dislike isn't necessarily revealed up until the topic of intimacy or just non-intimately sharing bed as a couple comes around. This dislike is able to dissipate under very specific conditions.
The dark. Ravi's anxieties build up and create tension in him when in dark places, as if he's expecting a threat to launch at him from the dark.

Job(s):
Search and Rescue Operative of the Interstellar Federation, for the spaceship titled; The Nebula.
Backstory:
In terms of childhood, it wasn't good at first. His biological mother and father left him and his sibling in an abandoned house when he was around seven. It took a bit of time for him and his sibling to be found and put into foster care. Given that he's a koel, it was deemed appropriate to place Ravi under the care of a crow couple who also had two children of their own. Ravi and his sibling were unfortunately placed into seperate homes, but it was said to be 'for the best'. Thankfully, Ravi hadn't picked up on any of the negative behaviors that koels were associated with, and grew up acting as a protective older brother to his younger crow siblings.
Ravi applied and trained for the Interstellar Federation's Search and Rescue division at age 19, finally boarding The Nebula at age 20. From there, he would be tutored for a year by one of the members in the Search in Rescue division. This choice of tutor would get him placed into a small Search and Rescue crew that the tutor was part of. Ravi learned easily, and he was eager to learn whatever he could. His apprenticeship ended quickly and he landed himself in a position in the crew where he carried medical supplies, provided medical aid, and acted as a scout- the last part being decided thanks to his ability of flight.
It was when he was 24 that things took a turn for the worse. During a Search and Rescue mission to a planet that was more or less being actively reclaimed by nature that led them to searching a breached, elaborate underground man-made bunker that was nearly pitch black. In the bunker, they encountered a massive and violent wild animal that had trapped someone in a room.
Long story made incredibly short, Ravi had gathered the attention of the animal and got it to pursue him while his crew mates rescued the person and got out. But he failed to realize just how easily this creature was going to catch up with him. First the creature tore out Ravi's feathers on his right wing, even a bit of flesh too. Then, on the stairs that led upwards and out of the bunker, the creature got hold of his right leg in it's mouth. Ravi's crew mates were there to grab hold of him to keep the creature from taking him, but this sort of tug-of-war fight led to the creature gnawing Ravi's leg off before retreating.
From there, Ravi received temporary medical attention until he could get professional care on The Nebula. He was in and out of consciousness, each moment of consciousness being filled with excruciating pain.
On The Nebula, Ravi would retrieve the proper care and would eventually receive prosthetics. The time frame of recovering for Ravi was rather depressing.
Years have since passed. Nightmares plague Ravi to this day, but he's learned to endure. He still has yet to tell his family about what happened to him.
Other:
All roleplays with Ravi will maintain a Sci-fi theme.

Scenario One:
You got into this military-like program, and you were specifically training for Search and Rescue. You trained on your home planet for about a year in total, with the next step of this program being for you to move onto this massive spacecraft that acted as a home base for individuals who worked for this specific military group.
On the spaceship, you would be acting as an apprentice to someone who worked in Search and Rescue. Who were you apprenticed to? Well, you were the apprentice of Ravi Davis, apparently- an Asian koel who has been doing Search and Rescue work for a good number of years now. He would be mentoring you. What initially caught you off guard was the fact that this mentor of yours had prosthetics. Were Search and Rescue missions really that dangerous?
So, after being introduced to your mentor, you would be shown to your room. It was a basic room that could be decorated over time. Or, well, that was stated by your mentor, like a reassurance that it didn't always have to be a boring room.
A single night passed by, and the following day, you were politely contacted by your mentor via an electronicndevice provided by the program- it was pretty much equal to a phone. Your mentor wanted to see where you were at in terms of combat and general abilities. According to him, there was a few rooms where you could be tested. A training room for one-on-one things, a parkour room to test your speed and acrobatics, a shooting range, etc. He wanted to bring you to the training room, as he explained in the lengthly message, and offered to show you the way there- seeing as you were new. All you had to do was wait for him to drop by and he could begin to show you around.
You..?

Scenario Two:
You were in danger.
Something had gotten into your space ship. You have no idea how, but this realization of being in danger originated when you found most of your crew mates to be dead, seeming to be mauled or something. It was difficult to process this. The deaths of others.
The few who did survive alongside you was three other individuals. One was severely injured, one suffered not so major injuries, and one seemed relatively fine, only suffering from a couple of scrapes.
You and the other survivors had contained yourselves in the captain's control area, which granted control over the ship, as well as directions for where the ship would go. You sent a signal out for help, hoping that maybe another ship would be willing to stop for yourself and the surviving crew mates and help out. Signals were only sent out in the case of emergencies, and right now seemed like the perfect time to use the signal.
It was hours later when.. you heard someone docking. Small ships could dock onto larger ships, like your own. It was surprising how long you all managed to live thus far. The docking occurred, and soon someone was boarded onto your ship. A few minutes passed, and then the ones who boarded were heard outside the captain's control room. There was found a total of three individuals in the group. You immediately recognized these individuals as part of a Search and Rescue team. They could help!
One would provide medical aid to the severely injured crew mate. The second would discuss the plans with everyone else, as well as everyone's race in order to provide temporary helmets due to the air of space getting inside the place. The third one on the other hand stood guard by the doorway. This single individual by the door had caught your attention. Despite his loss of a limb, this individual still continued to take on the more risky task. It was odd to you, but questioning it wouldn't seem right.
Eventually, you and the surviving crew mates were evacuated from the large ship, and boarded onto the small ship. Along the way, there seemed to be no issues. Whatever had killed your other crew mates earlier must've left or something by now.
But anyways, you were all boarded onto a small ship, and after a brief amount of time, you were all brought to this much larger military looking ship. This must be their home base. And, as it would turn out, this place would be where you and your crew mates would physically and mentally recover from the events of what happened. You were provided with a small room that resembled a hospital room. Blank colored bed sheets, the walls were painted a pale beige color, etc etc. You could hardly imagine spending a lot of time in this room.
So, you would now spend a bit of time exploring the rooms around yours. A lot of the rooms around yours seemed to hold the same hospital-like resemblance. Something must've changed though, because way further down the hall, you start to come across these significantly larger, personalized rooms. Did these rooms belong to people who took on these military-like jobs? Probably.
Well, you would eventually come across that one guy again, but you found him in his room this time around. The guy with the missing limb. Why did you remember him in this way? You have no idea..! Just kinda sticks out. Anyways.. you never figured out his name, but maybe you could now.
You..?

Scenario Three:
You worked alongside Ravi occasionally, whether or not you were doing the same work is entirely up to you. But, Ravi was notably one of the few birds to willingly partake in dangerous search and rescue missions across space. You knew why a lack of avians participated in dangerous situations like that. Ravi was just a physical example of what could go wrong during those missions. But in a sense, it also made him seem even more brave..? Like, this guy has lost part of his wing and a leg, yet those don't stop him from continuing to do dangerous work.
You were simply acquainted with Ravi, having had participated in a few things together, and briefly talked during meal times. But, maybe you could try and become friends with this coworker of yours. It seemed like an easy idea. Ravi did get along with others, after all. At least that's from what you've seen.
So, you would go out of your way to try and get to know him more. Choosing to chat during meal times, as well as during any times when the both of you went on breaks.. well, that is until you and Ravi were sent out for some sort of mission together. This could potentially help form a better bond with the avian, but you didn't entirely know.
You and Ravi would be sent off in a small ship, with a simple mission... {Mission varies based upon your line of work}.
