Please do read the rules - trust me, they are important. Plus, there's a password hidden in here - make sure you get all details. Ok? Go.

1) You are required to follow this account. I'll follow you back, I promise. You aren't required to follow any of the other members, or me (SpruceWolf ), but it would be nice.

2) Add this book to your library, so you don't miss out on any updates.

3) Be kind to everyone. This is a safe space for animal writers, and although constructive criticism is ok, hate comments are NOT allowed. I'll be chasing you out of the club with my fangs bared if you do anything unkind to any of the club members.

4) Similarly, have fun! If at any point this club stops being fun, then leave. I don't want this to feel like extra work.

5) This is a book club for animal writers. Therefore, you can only enter into this club if your book has animals playing a major role. Animal POV is obviously the best, but I also accept anthros and some werewolf stories (I'd like them to be more focused on the wolf side), and a book where animals are a major emphasis, even if it has a human main character. For instance, if they live in a world populated by dragons, or have an animal familiar that is very close to them.

6) Animal fanfictions are also accepted, but only if you think they can be understood by someone who doesn't know the fandom. Short stories are not accepted, unless you have a whole book full of them.

6) The password is further down in the next section. I can confirm that it must be an animal.

7) To join, a book must have at least five chapters. This includes the prologue, if it is a chapter-sized length.

8) If you ever want to change the book you have entered into the club, your status (Mating/Busy-Bee) or notify me of anything, don't hesitate to PM this account. That's the place I'm most likely to see your question.

Now for how the club works! Make sure to read this bit carefully.

1) Every week, a new set of Mates will be posted. You must read and comment on two of your Mate's chapters, leaving at least five inlines and a reasonable summary comment. In comments, you can use #FFBC if you want to feel special.

2) Every week, there will also be a Weekly Star. Every club member must comment on one chapter of their book, including their own Mate for that week. (So if your Mate was also Weekly Star, you'd have to read three chapters of their book.) If someone does particularly good comments on your story, PM me and I'll take that into consideration when choosing a Weekly Star.

3) After completing your assignment, you must comment 'Done, Chapters 1 and 2' or whichever chapters you read, inline with the 'comment done' under your pairing. Otherwise I won't know you've done it.

4) For particularly busy people: we have the Busy-Bee status. You'll just be put in for Weekly Star, but won't do the Mates assignments. If you're a Super-Busy-Bee, then you can do that every other week. Because I don't want you to miss out just cos you've got a life.

4) The password must be related to the form above yours. So if they put 'whale' you could put 'shark'.

5) If you are unable to complete an assignment, comment asking for an extension within that week. You must be done by the end of the following week. You can also skip weeks, or change status for a week or so, as long as you notify me in advance.

6) If you don't comment at all, that will be a failed assignment. You'll get a claw-scratched X next to your name. If you get three Xs, I will be forced to kick you out. While you have an X, you can't be Weekly Star. You can remove your X by completing two weeks' assignments in a row on time.

7) I'll be updating on Mondays, usually around 5-6pm GMT (five hours ahead of EST, if that helps). A reminder to those who haven't yet completed assignments will go out on Sunday.
