I open my eyes to darkness. *Can't...,. Breathe...* I think until I realize I'm in my fox form. I sigh as I unwrap my huge fluffy tail from my body. A big paw prods me. "Wake up, beautiful~" my mate, James, another fox, sings to me. I stand up and stretch as he gently licks my cheek. He may seem sweet and all, but the truth is, he is a huge ASSHOLE. We are only mates because our families forced us together. "Good morning..." I hesitate; "my love.." I change into my human form, dark brown curls covering the side of my face. "Is it okay if I go on a walk, Sweet Pie?" I ask, almost retching at the pet name. He instantly pins me against a wall. "You gonna try to run away again?" He snarls, bruising my wrists with the force he is holding my with. "N-no, I won't sir!" I shakily reply. He slowly lets go of me, planting a kiss on my forehead. "Be back by 12." He says as I walk out the door. I get into the forest that I use to escape, feeling my chest lighten as I change into my fox. I hop on a few rocks and bounce off a few trees as I make my way down a familiar trail. But... someone's here.... I lift my nose and sniff, smelling a cat and two different breeds of bird. I shrug it off, not noticing I have a follower.
