New Home (Chapter Sixteen)
It was 3:46 PM. You had been driving for almost twelve hours and you were starting to get tired.
"Hey, Ballora, do you mind taking the wheel?" You yawned.
"Sorry, I don't know how to drive," she admitted.
"But then, how did you get to Walmart that time I was sick?"
"Well, I flew."
"What?"
"I possessed a bird and flew. There, I talked to some guy who seemed very . . . 'friendly.' "
"Wait, you talked to someone? Why did you do that?" Baby ranted.
"Well, he said that he knew I could talk, and that he's talked to the 'bird queen' before," Ballora explained.
"Oh, okay. He must've been high off his ass!" you laughed.
"What does that mean? Why are you laughing?" Baby barked.
"It means he took something that made him really loopy and forget everything that would happen in the next twenty-four hours," you told her.
"Why is that funny?" Baby asked you.
"Oh, never mind," you sighed.

You yawned as you drove through the woods on a dirt road. You'd been on that trail for ten minutes. It was blocked off by a gate, that you had to open and close. You didn't know for sure where exactly it led to. It was 8:36 PM--the light of the full moon passed through the branches of the tree.
"Where are we going?" Bon-Bon asked from the passenger seat.
"There should be an abandoned building up through here. It said so on the sign by the gate . . . At least, I hope it's abandoned," you replied.
"Are we go-onna be staying the-e-ere?" Freddy wondered.
"No shit, Sherlock!" Foxy taunted.
You purposefully stomped on the brakes, sending Foxy flying between the seats and falling face first on the floor. "Oh, shit. Sorry. Are you okay?"
"Did you do that on purpose?" Foxy grumbled, shaking his head.
"I saw a rabbit."
You had seen a rock looking like a rabbit, so you weren't lying, but that wasn't why you had stomped on the brakes. Foxy grumbled as he stood up. You looked over at Bon-Bon, smirking, and you winked. Bon-Bon giggled.
"Anyways, we are staying there, for now. Oh, there it is!" you exclaimed, pointing to the small wooden house.
As you got closer, you saw that the house looked broken down. The paint on the outside was chipping. There were two window frames that had a few shards of glass still in them. A couple of broken planks of wood led up to a small porch. The road--or driveway--led to the right side of the porch. You parked the truck and turned it off.
"Alright, guys, we're here," you observed.
"Yeah, we know," Foxy groaned, opening up the back of the truck.
You sighed and reached over for your suitcase--it was on the floor in front of Freddy. You grabbed it and hopped out of the truck.
"Ooh, this stupid ground is dirty!" Foxy complained.
"Yeah, no shit, Sherlock. It's called dirt!" you yelled back.
Foxy glared at you as the rest of the animatronics piled out of the truck. You cautiously stepped over the pieces of wood and onto the porch. The double doors--that led into the house--were ajar.
As you got inside, you found a long hallway with another door at the end of it. When you walked in farther, two archways were by both your sides. The left archway led to a kitchen. You peeked your head in, to see a counter top in the right corner, a fridge in front of you, and a china cabinet to your left. The right archway led to a living room. You looked inside, to see a couch with a sheet on it to your left, a television across from it, a dresser against the far-left wall, and a dining table with six chairs to your right.
You walked farther down the hallway and was met with doors on both sides of you. The left door led to a bathroom--a sink in front of you, a toilet to your left, and a big bathtub/shower against the right wall. The right door led to a bedroom--almost empty--with a tidy bed to your left and a dresser across the room. Other than the wallpaper starting to peel, the inside of the house was orderly, seeming as though someone still lived there.
"Oh, finally! A bed to sleep on!" you cheered.
You dropped your suitcase onto the floor. You threw yourself on the bed and almost fell asleep right there on the spot.
"Hey!" Foxy pounded on the doorway.
"Ugh?" you groaned into the soft pillow.
"What is the plan from here?" Baby asked, ducking under the door frame as she stepped inside.
You sat up and shrugged. Ballora and Freddy walked into the room. Foxy stood leaning in the doorway. Ballora crawled to the corner of the room, beside the dresser, and stood up. Baby stood beside the bed, and Freddy crawled onto it beside you.
"Careful," you whispered, afraid the bed wouldn't be able to hold him.
"Oh," Freddy mumbled, carefully sitting down.
"Well, you guys are hidden . . . for now. I don't know what's gonna happen. If I get caught, I could be arrested," you fretted.
"You won't," Baby said.
"That's reassuring. I really need to get some sleep, though," you said.
"Okay, see you tomorrow," Baby whispered.
"Goodnight, (Y/N)," Ballora spoke.
"Night night!" Freddy and Bon-Bon exclaimed in unison.
You looked over at Foxy. He glanced over at the rest, then back to you. He waved his hand, shooing you off.
"Yeah, night . . . or whatever."
You smiled and yawned. You could worry about everything tomorrow. As soon as you laid your head down, you fell asleep.

You opened your eyes, then gasped, sitting up and scooting into the corner. The four animatronics stood around the bed, staring at you.
"S-sorry, we didn't mea-mean to scare you," Freddy stuttered.
"We didn't?" Foxy snickered.
"Why are you guys huddled around me?" you asked, blushing some.
"It's raining," Ballora stated.
Now that she mentioned it, you could hear the pitter-pattering--not exactly, because it was pouring--of rain on the roof. It was relaxing, almost putting you back to sleep.
"We just fe-elt safer next to-to you," Freddy said shyly.
"Not me! I can take care of myself!" Foxy argued and crossed his arms.
He blushed and you giggled, grinning. Foxy growled some and avoided your gaze.
"What exactly am I to do, though?" you protested.
Before any of the animatronics could speak, a big boom shook the house and lit up the room. In the sudden outburst, Freddy jumped onto you.
"Um?" You blushed as Freddy lay on your legs, his arms around your lower back.
"Wh-what was th-that?" Freddy stuttered, not taking his face away from your stomach.
"It was thunder." You giggled, but when Freddy didn't stop shaking, you felt bad; you rubbed his back and said softly, "It was just thunder."
Bon-Bon crawled up your back and buried himself in your hair on the side of your head. You looked up at the rest of the animatronics; Baby was on the edge of the bed--against the wall--beside you; Ballora was sitting crisscrossed against the wall on the other side of you; and Foxy was hiding under the covers at your feet.
"Haven't you guys ever seen a thunder storm?" you asked.
"No. We never do go to parties when it rains, and underground, we can't hear any," Baby told you.
"Oh, well, there's no need to be afraid," you assured them.
"Afraid? I'm not afraid!" Foxy insisted, getting out from under the covers.
Another loud boom lit up the dark room and Foxy jumped back under the covers and to your side. Ballora and Baby scooted closer to you. Foxy stuck his head out and you lifted your arm. He looked up at you and whimpered some. You smiled gently, putting your hand on his head.
"Okay, I may be afraid of the loud noise. But don't bring this up once it's all over with," Foxy pleaded.
"I won't," you promised.
"(Y-Y/N)?" Freddy stuttered, looking up at you.
"Yes, Freddy?" You looked at him.
"I'm so-rry." Freddy sniffled.
"It's okay. Why are you sorry?" you asked him.
"I didn't tell you what was going on."
"You don't need to be sorry about that. It's all behind us, now." You smiled.
"Then, thank you. For not hating me. And for helping us."
"'Hate' you? Why would I hate you? Freddy, I love you," you murmured.
Freddy's ears twitched as he blushed brightly. You smiled and rubbed the side of his face. Freddy buried his face back into your stomach and squealed quietly. You held in a giggle, but Bon-Bon didn't, as you heard him giggle softly in your ear. Foxy huffed, nudging the side of your leg with his snout. You reached over and put your hand back on his head.
"I'm kind of surprised this bed can carry all of us," you mumbled to yourself.
