Protective (Chapter Forty-One)
You sighed and limped into the hotel room, your body aching from all that had happened--especially your sides, which had absorbed every inch of stress your body had been through. Freddy and the rest followed close behind you, all clearly exhausted--mostly mentally, though. Freddy was an exception. Ballora had to bandage up his hands.
You shuffled to the bed and carefully lay onto your back, cringing at your whole body. Foxy, Baby, and Ballora, morphed into their pajamas and lay on the bed the way they usually did, with Foxy closest to you and Ballora in the middle. Freddy changed into his pajamas and stood at the foot of the bed. He untied your shoes and carefully slid them off. He grimaced at the pain in his fingers.
"What are you doing?" you asked raspily, your throat still rough from screaming.
"I'm making you comfortable. You've been through a lot," Freddy mumbled, and you smiled, both at his naturally perky voice and that he thought of you before himself.
" . . . But you're hurt. You don't need to do that."
He slowly shook his head, setting your shoes on the floor at the end of the bed, then walked around to the other side. He carefully lay onto the bed and on his side, gazing at you in a worried expression. You looked over at him and raised your eyebrows tiredly.
"Huh?" you asked.
"Get some sleep," Freddy whispered as your eyes started to droop.
Before you knew it, you fell into a deep state of slumber and Freddy giggled quietly. He crawled off the bed and stood up, walking over and standing next to you. He kissed you on the forehead and sat next to you. He leaned over you and put his hand on the other side of you.

You yawned and arched your back as you stretched. You instantly hissed and relaxed as your sides ached. You opened your eyes and jumped when you saw Freddy hovering over you, staring at you. His eyes were dark, and he tilted his head as you slid up. He smiled and blinked a few times.
"What are you doing?" you whispered hoarsely--you couldn't raise your voice any more.
"Just making sure you're alright," Freddy admitted.
"Have you had any sleep?" you croaked.
"No, he hasn't," Bon-Bon scolded him from the other side of you.
"Here's your stupid McDonald's," Foxy growled and dropped a paper bag on your stomach.
"Ow," you groaned.
Freddy growled and glared at Foxy as he snatched the coffee out of his hand. Foxy put his hands up sarcastically and fell onto the other bed.
"McDonald's?" you mumbled.
"You better like it! Freddy woke me up in the middle of a peaceful dream, telling me to go to McDonald's!" Foxy griped.
"But you ended up going anyways, so you can't complain much," you snickered weakly.
"He threatened me!" Foxy shouted as he shot up.
"What'd he say? What'd you say, Freddy?" you asked.
"I told him that if he didn't get you something, I'd staple his balls to his forehead in his sleep," Freddy replied.
"Who told you that? Bon-Bon, I guarantee he learned it from you," you said quietly.
"Why are you dragging me into this?" Bon-Bon objected.
"What's so important about McDonald's, anyways?" you asked, your voice cracking.
"I wanted you to have something to wake up to," Freddy admitted.
"That's sweet, but I could've lived without it," you told him.
"Here," Freddy said as he held out your cup of coffee.
"Thanks," you mumbled and grabbed it.
"Anything to make you happy, honey," Freddy gushed, and you sipped on your coffee, coughing a bit as you set it on the bedside table. "Oh, are you okay?"
"I'm fine," you said hoarsely as you rolled your eyes playfully and started to rummage through your bag.
You pulled out a container of pancakes and a small cup of syrup. Freddy fluttered his eyes at you as he watched you open the containers and pour the syrup all over your pancakes. You dropped the empty cup into the paper bag, and you unwrapped a fork. Freddy stared at you as you cut off a small piece of pancake, stabbed it, then put it into your mouth. He smiled softly when your cheek puffed out as you chewed and swallowed your food. You went to cut another piece, but Freddy cupped your chin and squished your cheeks together as he pulled you into a kiss.
"Mm? Mmm," you hummed and melted into the kiss as you dropped your fork into your plate.
Freddy held you in a passionate kiss, seeming as if he were kissing you after years of being apart. Freddy pulled away from you, and you looked at him dreamily. Your eyebrows furrowed when you noticed that Freddy was frowning.
"What's up with you?" you whispered.
"Nothing. We should change your bandages," Freddy changed the subject.
"Hmph. And we should change yours . . . What's wrong, Freddy?" You huffed.
"You don't need to worry about me. It's just that . . . I'm worried about you." Freddy sniffled as a tear rolled down his cheek.
"Why are you worried about me?" you croaked as you wiped the tear from his eye.
"Because you almost died, (Y/N)!" Freddy worried.
"Freddy, Afton didn't hurt me, you--"
"Yeah, I know, I stopped him. But, you just- . . . I don't want to lose you." Freddy sniffled as tears started to fall down his cheeks.
"You won't, Fredbear. I'll be right here. I'll always be with you," you croaked and held his hand.
"And I'll always be with you. Now, eat," Freddy mumbled as he wiped the tears from his eyes.
"Wow, from romantic to your usual self in less than a second," Bon-Bon scoffed.
You and Freddy laughed as you picked up your fork. Freddy wiped his eyes aggressively, then looked at you with wide eyes. You raised an eyebrow as you lifted a piece of pancake to your mouth, and a smile spread across Freddy's face.
"We should change your bandages, though. Both of you," Ballora pointed out as she walked around the corner and back with the first-aid kit in her hand.
"Where'd you get that?" you asked.
"Yeah, where did you get that?" Foxy wondered.
"I may have sneaked it out of the pizzeria," Ballora mumbled as she blushed lightly.
"I mean, they didn't need it anyways," you snickered.
Ballora walked between the two beds and set the first aid kit onto the bedside table. You closed up your pancake container and set it into the McDonald's bag. You shifted and sat up so Ballora could change you easily. Freddy put his hands on your waist to help, but when you tensed and hissed, he quickly pulled his hands away and frowned. Ballora pulled out a few things, then she started to unwrap you.
"I need to clean it with some alcohol--"
"Alcohol?" you squeaked, then coughed.
"And then I'll rewrap it," Ballora continued as she took out the alcohol bottle and a few gauze pads.
She covered her hands in alcohol and rubbed them together. Then, she soaked a pad in alcohol and started to dab around your stitches. You tensed and grinded your teeth together and Freddy growled at Ballora. Ballora slowly looked over at Freddy and he quickly looked away. She finished one side and started on your other side. Foxy came beside Ballora with a trash can in hand and Ballora tossed the pad into it. She grabbed a few more pads and held them against your stitches. With her other hand, she grabbed a roll of tape and tore off some pieces. She taped the pads to you so they wouldn't fall off. She did the same on your other side, then she grabbed the wrap you had before. She moved her hand around you, making sure to not wrap you up too tightly--nor too loosely.
"There. How is it?" Ballora said as she pinned it together.
"Comfy," you told her as you lay back.
Ballora gestured to Freddy's hands, and he held them out for her. You pulled your knees to your chest and turned. Freddy raised an eyebrow as you hung your legs over the edge of the bed.
"What are you doing?" Freddy asked.
"I- . . . need to use the bathroom," you whispered sheepishly.
"Oh, here," Freddy said.
He pulled his hands away from Ballora, making her grunt. He put one of his arms under your knees and the other around your back. He picked you up and you quickly wrapped your arms around his neck. You looked at him questioningly as he walked you around the bed and past the closet. He carefully set you down in front of the bathroom door and he opened it.
"I could've walked here myself," you told him.
"I know, but I didn't want you to have to worry about it." Freddy giggled, and you walked into the bathroom.
You shut the door and locked it before Freddy could think of coming in and assisting you in some way. You sighed and turned on the light. You looked at yourself in the mirror and chuckled at your messed up hair. Your eyes were dark and you could see blood stains on the sides of your pants.

You dried your hands on the towel that was beside you. You unlocked the door and flicked off the light as you opened it. Suddenly, you were lifted by a pair of arms, and you gulped. Freddy smiled at you innocently as he carried you back to the bed. You huffed as he carefully laid you in the bed. He crawled over you, then pulled you into his lap. His leg draped over your hips as his other leg was folded under your knees. He held his arms around your chest as he pulled you closer to him. You leaned back and rested your head on his shoulder.
"Freddy, do you think you may be worrying too much?" Bon-Bon croaked as he crawled onto Freddy's shoulder.
"No," Freddy insisted.
"You are!" Foxy laughed.
"Foxy, grab (Y/N)'s book," Freddy growled.
"But it's right beside you," Foxy sassed.
"I know," Freddy said as he hugged you.
"But I'm comfy," Foxy whined.
"I don't care," Freddy snapped as his eyebrows furrowed.
Foxy groaned loudly as he slid off the bed. He smacked his hand on your book and grabbed it. He held it out as he glared at you, and Freddy hugged you tighter. You carefully grabbed it from him and Foxy jumped back onto the bed.
"Could you also get his coffee?" Freddy sneered.
"I can get it," you mumbled as you reached over and grabbed it.
"Mm- Foxy could've got it," Freddy protested.
"Yeah, I know, but I'd preferred that I did," you told him and sipped on your coffee.
"Okay," Freddy mumbled and rested his head against yours.
You set your cup between your legs and flipped open your book. Freddy kissed you on the side of your head as you started to read. You smiled and he kissed you again. He started to kiss your ear and you tilted your head. He continued to give you soft kisses and you squinted.
"Freddy," you murmured.
"Hm?" he hummed.
"What are you doing?" you asked him gently.
"I'm just giving you kisses." Freddy giggled into your ear.
"Oh, well . . . I can't concentrate on my book," you whispered nicely.
Freddy snickered and nibbled on your ear. You closed your eyes and leaned to the side, away from him. He smirked and pulled you to him by the ear. You winced and he continued to nibble on your ear. You giggled and tried to squirm from him. He grinned as he moved his hands around you, gently tickling you and ignoring his throbbing fingers.
"Pfft! Freddy, you're gonna make me spill my coffee!" you laughed.
"Bon-Bon, can you move his coffee?" Freddy giggled.
"Can do, boss," Bon-Bon snickered and slid down his side.
"Huh?" Freddy asked as he stopped, and Bon-Bon grabbed your coffee.
"Why'd you call him boss?" you wondered as he squirmed towards the bedside table.
"What?" Bon-Bon wondered after he set the coffee down and turned towards the two of you.
"I'm not your 'boss,' " Freddy told him and Bon-Bon stared at the two of you in disbelief.
"I know, I was just- . . . Continue!" Bon-Bon huffed.
Freddy looked back at you while you continued to stare at Bon-Bon. He suddenly started to tickle you and you burst out in laughter. Foxy groaned and put his hands over his ears. Bon-Bon frowned and crawled across the bedside table. He turned into his animatronic form, then jumped on to Foxy's stomach.
"OOF! What the- Bon-Bon!" Foxy barked.
"What are you doing?" Bon-Bon hissed.
"I'm trying to go to sleep," Foxy snapped and dropped his head.
"It's 9:53. UP!" Bon-Bon shouted and hopped on Foxy's stomach.
"Oof! Why, you--" Foxy growled and swiped at Bon-Bon.
Bon-Bon snickered and quickly jumped towards you and Freddy. Foxy jumped up and ran after Bon-Bon. He hid between you and Freddy and the two of you stopped. You smirked as you looked back at Bon-Bon and raised an eyebrow.
"Bon-Bon, what are you--" Freddy started, but was interrupted when Foxy tackled the three of you.
Foxy quickly pushed between you and Freddy and jumped towards Bon-Bon. Bon-Bon squeaked and quickly crawled to the other side of the bed. Foxy grabbed him and pulled him to face him.
"HA, gotcha!" Foxy snickered and squeezed Bon-Bon.
"Ow," you hissed as you held your sides.
Freddy grabbed Foxy's hood and pulled him to face him. He dropped Bon-Bon, and Bon-Bon quickly crawled to you, changing to his plush form. Freddy let out a grizzly growl and Foxy gulped. Bon-Bon sat in your lap and hid between your legs and you carefully stroked him on the head. Freddy let go of Foxy and pushed him away, and Foxy quickly jumped onto the other bed and between Baby and Ballora. He hid in front of Ballora and gripped onto her onesie in fear. Ballora sighed as she looked down at him, and she patted him on the back. Baby huffed as she crossed her arms.
