Laughter is the Best Medicine (Chapter Nine)
It had been a few days since the party and your condition had been getting worse and worse. Being around so many children, there was no doubt you wouldn't have caught something. Yesterday, you developed a cough and a sore throat. Today, you had been getting headaches, you'd been running a fever, feeling tired, and now you were sore all over.
"Are y-you sure you don't n-need anything?" Freddy asked.
"Freddy, you've asked me that question over ten times in the past few minutes, and I'll say it again: no, I do not need anything, I just want to go to sleep," you groaned, balling up on the floor.
"O-okay. Ballora should be-be here in a few min-utes," he said.
"(Y/N)'s fine, he just needs to walk it off," Foxy scoffed while Bon-Bon glared at him.
Ballora had somehow obtained a human body. You didn't know, and didn't--nor did you want to know--how she did it. You gave her some money and she went to Walmart to get you some things.
Like magic, the sounds of machinery echoed through the Ballora Gallery. Ballora lowered and looked like she had bought the entire store. Baby grabbed the bags while Foxy watched.
"You could help," Baby mentioned.
"Yeah, I know," Foxy snickered, leaning against the wall.
Baby walked over to you and Freddy , and set the bags down. Ballora crawled over to you and sorted through the bags.
"Alright, first of all, I got you a few foam things to lay on," she said, sorting through things.
She took out three bags with foam mattress pads in them. You sat up and looked at the bags she set beside you.
"Then, I got you a couple blankets. I thought I might as well get you all that you needed, so I got you some real food--everything's in the fridge and the cabinets upstairs--and there are also more beverages up there too. I got you some things to clean yourself with; I didn't know which one was better, so I got you whichever ones smelled the best. The shampoo and conditioner are 'Mane 'n Tail'--one of the women were kind enough to tell me that that works well--and the body wash is tropical coconut. I also got a few other things, but I've already put them up," Ballora told you.
"Thank you." You smiled, trying to keep yourself awake.
"Can (Y/N) st-stay in my room?" Freddy asked.
"It depends on what 20 says," Ballora said.
"(Y/N), do you wa-want to stay in-in my room?"
"Hey, it's my room too," Bon-Bon nagged.
"Sure," you said and pushed yourself up.
Freddy put his arm around you as you almost lost your balance. He helped you walk into the Breaker Room. Baby came in and put the three pads on top of each other, next to Freddy's platform and against the wall. Freddy walked you to the foam and you lay down on it. It felt like you were lying on a cloud.
"I-is that comfy?" Freddy laughed.
Freddy ran out and back into the Breaker Room with the bags in his hand and arm stump. He set the bags beside you and took out the blankets. He spread it out and on top of you. You rolled yourself up in the blanket and smiled into it. You felt--and looked--like a roll of sushi.
"Now I'm too hot," you whined and pushed the blankets off of you.
Freddy giggled and sat next to you. You sighed and closed your eyes.

You yawned as you opened your eyes. You felt a hand on your stomach and someone lying behind you. You rolled around and was face to face with Freddy. His hand was now on your lower back. He had a few of your shirts balled up and put underneath his cheek so his ear wouldn't break. His eyes were closed and every few seconds his ears would twitch. Bon-Bon lay on his back above you.
"Good morning," Bon-Bon whispered.
"Oh, I didn't know you were up. Good morning," you croaked.
"How are you feeling?" Bon-Bon asked.
"I feel like crap. I still feel feverish, my throat's sore, I can only breathe through one nostril, and I have a busting headache." You sighed.
"Aww, I'm sorry to hear that."
You stared at Freddy. "I'm not complaining, but why is Freddy spooning me?"
"I guess he just thought you looked comfy." Bon-Bon giggled.
You "ohed" and sat up. Freddy's arm fell over your lap. You stretched your arms and yawned. You stood up, making sure to move Freddy's arm.
"Where are you going?" Bon-Bon asked.
"I was thinking of taking a shower. Maybe it'll make me feel somewhat better," you said.
You grabbed underwear, a black t-shirt, and a pair of sweatpants. You grabbed the bag of hair and body wash and headed out to the elevator. You crawled through the vent. You started to feel sick to your stomach by how cramped the space was and how hot you were.
Once you got into the elevator, you took deep breaths as you pressed the red button. After the elevator stopped, you walked into the boys' bathrooms. You put the hair and body wash into the shower and put your clothes in the bag.
You grabbed a washcloth and tossed it into the shower. You hung a towel on the top of the door. After turning on the water to a comfortable temperature, you stripped down and stepped under the warm water. You groaned in satisfaction as goosebumps formed on your skin. The warm water helped ease your aching muscles and clear up your sinuses some.
You washed yourself clean, taking advantage of the relaxed and peaceful state you were in. After standing under the water for a few minutes, you turned it off and grabbed the towel. You dried yourself off and got dressed.
You looked at the fogged-up mirrors when you opened the door to the shower and walked out. You wiped the mirror some, chuckling at the squeaking. You flipped your head around, shaking the loose water from your hair. You decided to just let it air dry the rest of the way.
You grabbed your towels, your washcloth, and your clothes, and put them in the washer that was in the "Clothing" room. You turned on the washer and went into the bathroom. You put your hair and body washes into the Walmart bag--you had dried them so they wouldn't drip.
You opened the elevator and mumbled. You poked the red button and descended.
You hummed as you crawled through the vent. When you got into the Control Module, you ducked into the Ballora Gallery. You waved to the animatronics.
"Feeling any better?" Bon-Bon asked.
"A bit. My nose doesn't seem to be stuffy anymore. I feel like a pig," you replied, biting your lip.
"Why do you say that?" Ballora wondered.
"I think I've got swine flu!" you snickered.
Ballora rolled her eyes, smiling. "My goodness . . ."
"Sorry, I'm just in a silly mood," you chuckled, holding your head as it throbbed.
"I guess you could say, you're hoppy." Bon-Bon winked as you looked over at him.
"Bon-Bon--"
"I've got something to tell you, but you're not gonna want to hare it," Bon-Bon sniggered.
You laughed, squinting at the pain in your head. Bon-Bon disconnected from Freddy's arm and was about to jump down. Freddy caught him and carefully set him on the floor. He crawled over to you.
"I've got so many puns, it's not even bunny!"
You held your stomach and wheezed, "I can't breathe."
"Oh, no, he's dying! Somebody call 9-bun-bun!" Bon-Bon yelled.
"Bon-Bon, (Y/N) needs his rest." Freddy huffed.
"Looks like you just don't carrot all. We're just trying to have a fun-time!"
"Hey, lay off the animal puns, for fox sakes," Foxy pitched in.
"Yeah, Freddy can't bear these puns," you laughed.
"Hold on, to build suspense during bear puns . . . add a big paws!" Foxy exclaimed.
"Tell me more! I'm all ears!" Bon-Bon said.
"My, these puns are on pointe, but I believe you all may need to raise the barre." Ballora giggled.
"Really? (Y/N)'s going to pass out," Freddy griped.
"Freddy's right," Baby said.
"Thank y-you, Ba--"
"Everyone needs to quit clowning around." She smiled.
"I agree This is spinning--" Ballora spun around--"out of control."
"It's quite in-tents," Baby added.
"Guys---"
"Odile with it, Freddy," Ballora joked, and you leaned on your knees, coughing.
"Come on-on, (Y/N)," Freddy grumbled, carefully pulling you into the Breaker Room and closing the door.
"You're right, (Y/N) can't go to sleep without his Freddy bear!" Foxy said through the door.
"We were all trying to help (Y/N)! You know: laughter is the best medicine!" Bon-Bon chuckled.
"I thought it was a nice jester," you heard Baby say.
You wiped your tears, chuckling. Freddy rolled his eyes and put his hand against your neck. You quickly pushed his hand away.
"Oh, I'm-I'm sorry. I was ju-just trying to check to see i-if you were running a-a fever." Freddy looked down at his feet.
"No, it's okay. Your hands are just cold," you assured him, chuckling.
"Oh."
Freddy grabbed the blankets and wrapped you up in them. You didn't fight him as he picked you up bridal style. He sat down on the foam mattress and held you close to him. You rested your head on his shoulder.
"Now, go to-to sleep. I'll keep y-you warm," Freddy said softly.
"Okay, Jeffery." You yawned and closed your eyes.
"Huh?" Freddy asked.
You didn't notice his confusion as you shifted slightly. You relaxed, Freddy's voice lulling you to sleep.
