Breaking Out of Shells (Chapter Six)
"Alright, I'm here," you said.
You parked in front of the building and turned off the engine after looking at the clock: it was 4:37 AM. You grabbed your suitcase and the bags. You struggled to open the front doors.
"Where do I stay? As in, where do I put my stuff, and where am I going to sleep?" you asked Freddy.
"You can sleep in our room: the Breaker Room!" Bon-Bon said.
"Okay then, I'll be down there in a minute." You started to put in the code to the elevator.
"You know, you don't have to actually put in a code," Bon-Bon said matter-of-factly.
"What do you mean?"
"Just press the 'open' button, silly!" Bon-Bon giggled; you did as he said and was surprised when the doors opened.
"Why did they give me a code, then?" you wondered as you entered the elevator and pressed the red button.
"It's just to make the place look more important than it really is."
"Oh, well, that's a bummer," you said as the elevator stopped at the vent.
You pushed your suitcase and the bags through the vent as you crawled on your knees. You carried them to the Breaker Room, passing by everyone. After setting everything down, you grabbed a box from one of the bags and walked back into the Ballora Gallery.
You walked over to Freddy and placed the card back into his arm and closed it. You then pushed the small keypad back into the side of his head. You put your phone and headphones back in your pockets.
"Why don't we go up into the pizzeria? I have a couple games I want us to play," you announced.
"We only go up there to be taken to parties," Foxy pointed out.
"And we can't risk being caught by somebody," Baby added.
"Yeah, I know, but there's so much more space up there. I'll lock the doors, and you guys can come back down here once it's six," you begged.
Baby looked at the rest of the animatronics and back at you. "We'll see how it goes."
"Yay!" you cheered.
You watched as Baby stepped onto Ballora's stage. She was lifted up and through the ceiling. When the platform came back down, Ballora crawled onto it and stood up. Foxy and Freddy crawled through the vents and into the Funtime Auditorium. You crawled to the elevator and pressed the button.
Once the elevator stopped and the doors opened, you stepped out. You hopped down from the stage and ran to the front. You locked the doors and ran back to a table, setting the box down. The animatronics were standing like statues on their platforms.
"Guys?" you asked.
You waved your arms. You raised an eyebrow and stepped back on the stage. You looked Foxy up and down, then squinted at his face.
"Boo!" Foxy bent down as his face plates opened.
You jumped back, almost falling off the stage. He laughed as he jumped down from his platform.
"I got you so good!" he sneered.
You glared at him, then at the rest of the animatronics. "You guys too?"
"I'm sorry, (Y/N), Fo-xy wanted us to go-go along with it!" Freddy defended himself and the rest of the animatronics as he sat down on his platform and slid down to stand on the stage.
Baby stepped off her platform and Ballora crawled down and off hers. You sat down at the table and the rest of the animatronics sat with you; Baby had to bring over another chair so everyone could sit together.
Freddy was to your right, and Baby was to your left. On the other side of Freddy was Ballora, and on the other side of Baby was Foxy. They watched as you spilled out what was in the box.
"'Jenga'? What's that?" Bon-Bon asked.
"It's a game."
"How do you play this game?" Ballora wondered.
"I'll stack them, and then we take turns pulling out a block--from the center or bottom--and putting it on the top. You can only use one hand, and whoever makes it fall, loses," you explained, starting to stack them; once you got them stacked, you thought of something to make the game more interesting. "This isn't part of the game, but how about: every time we move a block without knocking it over, we get a point. If you are to cheat, by using two hands or whatever, you lose five points. Also, if the others successfully make the player fail, they get two points. But you can't touch the table in any way, nor can you hit, kick, shove, or shake, the player; and you cannot knock over the stack yourself--I would think that last one is obvious."
"Okay, that sounds . . . fun," Baby said, although she didn't sound very convincing.
"What about the points?" Ballora asked.
"Oh, the points don't matter. Alright, who wants to go first?"
"I do!" Foxy blurted.
You put your hand up to start to explain something, when he jumped up. He quickly pulled one out , and the whole thing toppled over.
"What? This game is rigged!" he barked, throwing the block on the table; you laughed at his outburst. "What are you laughing at?"
"You're supposed to take your time in this game. Find the block that's the loosest and slowly pull or push it out," you said, snickering.
"I hate this game," Foxy pouted, crossing his arms.
You started to stack them up, Ballora and Freddy--after setting his microphone down--pitching in some. "Alright, who wants to go first this time?"
"Me, me! I-I do, I-I do!" Freddy raised his hand.
"Okay, you can go first, but remember: be careful."
Freddy slowly reached for a block. Foxy clapped his hands loudly, making Freddy flinch a bit. You smiled and thought of distractions. Freddy pulled out the block and set it on the top. He lifted Bon-Bon up to the tower. Bon-Bon slid one out, struggling to keep a good grip on it, and set it on the top of the stack.
Next, it was your turn. You poked around the blocks, looking for one that was loose. Foxy continued clapping. Ballora shrugged at Baby and turned on her music. She slowly spun her torso as her face plates twitched; you thought it was creepy, but you remained focused.
"Bo-Bon-Bon, looks like th-this one's not gonna bu-dge! I think we're go-nna have to do this the-the hard way," Freddy said as he giggled evilly.
You watched Freddy out of the corner of your eye. His hand was slowly coming towards you, his fingers wiggling. You found a loose block and started to push it out. You looked back at Freddy.
"Freddy, what are you doing?" you asked nervously.
"Oh, you'll see-see."
Before you could react, Freddy's hand shot at you, and he started to tickle you. You jerked your hand back and burst out laughing. You tried to push his hand away, but he was too strong.
"Tickle, tickle, tickle!" Freddy laughed.
You couldn't gain back your composure, as he kept tickling you. Bon-Bon laughed, Ballora looked at you and Freddy in awe, Baby was somewhat confused, and Foxy was glaring at you two.
"Freddy!" you whined as you giggled.
"What's wr-ong?" Freddy said sarcastically as he moved his hand somewhere else.
You leaned away from him, as he had found your ticklish spot. You fell off the chair and lay on the ground. Freddy hovered over you and continued to tickle you. You tried to squirm away from him, but he sat on your hips, keeping you in place.
"Stop it!" you laughed.
"No can do," he teased.
As you were flailing about, you kicked the table, knocking over the stack. Freddy stopped tickling you and looked down at you, his face plates shifted into an evil grin.
"God damn it, Freddy!"
"Ah, ah-ah, ah, we don't u-use that language a-round here," Freddy scolded you, wiggling his fingers.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry," you exclaimed, smiling nervously at him as you propped yourself up with your elbows.
Freddy's ears twitched and his eyes relaxed as he stared into your eyes. You held his gaze and blushed. Bon-Bon looked at you two and giggled.
"Y-you can move now. Unless you're comfy," your voice trailed off.
"Oh, sorry," he said, his eyes glowing pink.
He stood up and held out his hand. You took it and stood up as well. You sat in your chair, and Freddy mirrored you. Ballora had already stacked the blocks back.
"Why don't you two . . . love birds take it to his car?" Foxy groaned, and Freddy's eyes glowed brighter as he scratched the back of his head.
"I think somebody's jealous!" Bon-Bon sang.
"No! I'm not." Foxy huffed.
"Oh, really?" you said sarcastically.
"Really." Foxy nodded.
"So, you wouldn't mind it if I gave him a great, big, hug?" you said as you hugged Freddy's side; Freddy lifted his arm up and looked at you.
"Of course not!" Foxy glared at you.
You smirked. "Nor would you mind, if . . . I sat in his lap?"
You sat on Freddy's leg and rested your head on his shoulder. Freddy froze and his speaker emitted a small squeak.
"Why would I?" Foxy scoffed and crossed his arms.
"I like this game!" Bon-Bon said, giggling like a school girl.
"Oh, I think somebody's upset," you said in a baby voice, mocking him.
You rubbed your nose against Freddy's and grinned evilly at Foxy. Freddy stared off into space, completely shocked by all that had happened. Baby giggled at Foxy's pouting, and Ballora giggled at your--and Freddy's--behaviour.
"Why don't we get back to our game!" Foxy growled.
"Why don't we?" You squinted at Foxy, your grin spread from ear to ear.
Baby pulled out a block, rather quickly, and put it on the top. Foxy sighed and reached for a block. You took a deep breath and blew a long raspberry at him. Before you finished, Baby let out a loud scream. Foxy jumped, knocking over the blocks. The rest of you paused and stared at Baby. She laughed, and Foxy dropped his piece.
"I'M DONE!" he yelled, getting up and stomping off
"Oh, come on, Foxy!" you called after him.
Although you sounded sympathetic, your smile couldn't be any bigger. You watched as he went to the elevator. He pressed the button and glared at the five of you. When you looked back at the table, the blocks were already stacked. Freddy hadn't moved since you nuzzled his nose. Ballora pulled out a piece and put it on the top. She had no problem, since she was naturally delicate and graceful. Now it was Freddy's turn.
"Freddy, it's your turn." Bon-Bon snapped him out of his trance, and Freddy shakily reached for a block.
"Freddy? Are you okay?" you asked.
"Y-yeah," he stuttered.
Bon-Bon giggled and whispered to you, "You know a good way to distract him?"
"No, what?" you murmured.
"Give him a kiss on the cheek," he snickered quietly.
You looked Freddy in his eyes; he looked back at you nervously. You closed your eyes and planted a loving kiss on his cheek. Freddy twitched and froze, his arm still extended.
"Freddy, are you okay?" you worried.
"Freddy, stop repeating 'I can't' in your head. What does that mean?" Bon-Bon said.
"I CAN'T!" he exclaimed.
He sat up, knocking you into the table--luckily, the blocks didn't fall. He ran to the stage, covering his eyes with his hand and Bon-Bon.
"No, Freddy, I'm sorry! Don't go!"
"Come on, Freddy, we were just messing with you." Bon-Bon patted him on the head.
"You know what!" Foxy said, then stomped up to the table and flipped it over. "SCREW YOU GUYS!"
The blocks scattered all over the floor. Freddy lowered into the facility underground, and Foxy followed him on his own platform. Baby sighed and walked towards the stage.
"You too, Baby?"
Baby waved to you and Ballora as she lowered. You looked down at the mess Foxy made. Before you could ask if Ballora was "gonna go too," she crawled towards the stage as well.
"Sorry, (Y/N). I would stay to help, but we can't be off our stages--downstairs--for too long, or the AI will become suspicious," Ballora said as she stood on her podium.
You looked at your phone, to see that it was already 6:15 AM. You sighed and put back the table and chairs.
"You know what: screw the point system, and screw this game," you mumbled as you picked up the blocks.
