(Y/n) (L/n)'s Perspective

When my bag appeared in my hands I was confused. This was at his house, did he have it on him?
"Thank you." I say, taking a glance inside to make sure everything was there. Everything was, in fact, in there. Which was great.
"Well, I hope you'll excuse me, but I must be going." Gaster announced, rising from his seat. I smile and nod.
"Of course. I'll see you some other time then?" I ask while walking him to the door.
"Certainly. Goodbye (Y/n)." He said before walking off.
"Goodbye, Gaster." In a blink of an eye, he was gone. I was confused until I remembered that earlier today Sans had done the exact same thing. The door clicked shut and a familiar feeling washed over me once more.
Loneliness.

"Why am I shaking?" My voice trembles throughout my mind. The body of my dream world was shaking, it felt scared. "This is my dream... I should be able to stop shaking."
"You can't do that, my sweet~. You are scared, inside or outside of the dream world." A voice called. It sent a shiver up my spine. Is this the reason I'm scared?
"Who are you?!"
"Why... I am you."
"Wh-what? You can't be?"
"Can't I?"
"No! You can't! I'm me!"
"I'm you from another timeline! Or even another universe!"
A sharp gasp left me as a figure came into view. It was tall, feminine, and had a smile of daggers. There were tiger-like stripes covering her bodice and hips, a pale (s/c) elsewhere. She wore a long (neutral color) top that wrapped around her neck and went down at a point, barely going past her crotch.
She had horns and her hair color was difficult to make out due to a mysterious shadow. Her nails were black, but the tips of her fingers were stained red.
A dark cloud of smoke was crawling around her feet. This woman had an aura that brought horrors into my own body. They stepped closer, so I took a step back.
"That's impossible."
She took another step forward and there I saw that this smile wasn't so menacing. This smile that once seemed menacing now revealed that it was one of fear.
"Is it?"

'How did I get here...?' I wonder as my eyes trailed right over the line of words; without even reading them. A sigh escaped my lips and I try once more to read.
Nothing.
'I've been here for 3 hours and haven't even been able to read a single word!' I growled to myself after reading the time. My book slipped from my grasp as my hands moved to cover my face instead. The library is supposed to be my place of comfort and yet I only feel more conflicted.
'I'm supposed to write my dreams down and yet I can't even focus enough to do that!' My mind was screaming. My body was aching. My eyes were watering. But where was a solution?
My eyes opened and ahead of me, I saw a small, familiar, skeleton in a hoodie staring at me. He then turned and began to walk away.
A new feeling awoke inside of me.
Concern.
"Sans?" I asked, approaching the child. He froze, like he had just been caught by the police. Surprisingly, he didn't take off. In fact, he turned around. "What are you doing here? Is Gaster here?"
The young skeleton shook his head. I frowned and furrowed my brows. I examined him once more. He didn't seem hurt, just fearful. Most likely fearful of getting snitched on.
"Did you runaway?" I asked, receiving a nod. "Why?"
"I just wanted to read something new... Dad was stressed in his office and I couldn't sleep... I didn't want to bother him." Sans mumbled, kicking his feet and gripping the book tighter.
"Sans... do you know how worried he'd be when he finds you gone?" I ask, not wanting to scold the child, but also afraid that Gaster would go insane trying to find him. "What book did you want to read?"
"O-oh...! Uh... this..." Sans suddenly perked up and showed me.
"The Adventures of Chemistry" a children's science book made to make them excited about the subject. I smiled a little.
'Of course the son of a scientist would be interested in a science book!' I looked to the young skeleton who hid even further into his hoodie.
"If I read this to you, can I take you home?" I asked the skeleton. He paused, then popped his skull out of his hoodie and nodded. "Let's go sit down then."
Me and Sans traveled back to my table where we both sat and began to read. The young skeleton who once seemed so fearful and conflicted by my existence now seemed so happy to be in my presence.
"Thanks mom..."

"Mom?"
"Yes, my love?"
"Are you happy here?"
"Of course I am! I have my wonderful boys and so many friends!"
"I'm happy..."
"I'm happy too...s...4........n...5"
"We were a happy family once. We could be again!"
"No. Goodbye mom."

"What happened?" My voice groggily asks, I felt horrible. My body felt stiff and was covered in sweat. Rising up from my bed was refreshing as cool air struck me like a thousand blades.
I heard my alarm go off only a few minutes later. I picked up my phone and shut it off, squiring my eyes to read the screen.
W.D. Gaster (5)
"Shit! I missed so many texts!" I cursed aloud, almost dropping my phone from my unnecessary wave of shock.
Opening the messages I find praise.
"(Y/n), thank you so much for returning Sans safely last night. I had no idea he was even gone."
"He said he enjoyed his time with you and would like to know if you'd babysit him and Papyrus."
"I'm so sorry to be messaging you so late, but perhaps when you see these messages we can agree on a meet up time for tomorrow?"
"Maybe at the coffee shop?"
"Either way, I hope you sleep well and have a lovely night."
I smile, fondly at the messages.
"Of course! I would love to babysit! As for the meetup, any time will do."
"Meet me there in 30 minutes?"
"Sure thing!"
'I am way too sweaty to agree to being there in 30 minutes.' I split up my time evenly. 10 minute shower, 5 minute getting dressed, 5 minute makeup, and the last 10 minutes were spent getting there.
I had a weird feeling running throughout my body. I felt like I had been split into thousands of pieces and my only focus is on putting myself back together despite said pieces being lost.
'Does that even make sense?' I ask myself and I run into someone for the third time.
"I am so sorry!" I almost shout, entirely caught off guard. A small chuckle reached my ears and I recognized the skeleton immediately.
"This is the third time you've run into me, (Y/n). Do it again and I might have a friend of mine do a vision test on you." He joked, his voice soft and fond. I kind of laughed, not really feeling like myself. He caught on immediately. "Are you alright?"
"Remember those dreams I told you about?" I ask him, a hesitance in my voice, despite acknowledging it right away.
"Of course." He replied, clearly remembering what I was talking about.
"They've been coming back more frequently and in more details. It's just had me out of it... I-I'm sorry, we should go inside." I say before opening the door for him. He nodded and entered, myself close behind.
"How's Sans?" I ask, feeling my body freeze up, despite feeling comfortable in Gaster's presence.
"He's grounded, but besides that he's fine." Gaster assured. I giggled softly, my body slowly relaxing.
"Figured..." I smile to myself. "And how are you? Sans said that you were overwhelmed last night by work."
"A little extra load of work never truly bothers me. I just wanted a day off, but I also didn't want to have to come back to an extensive workload, so I got as much as I can done." Gaster explained. I nodded, that did sound fair.
"What are you taking a day off for? I-I mean you surely deserve it, but why?"
"The boys have the Friday off of school, so I wanted to be home with them." Gaster answered. I smiled and nodded.
"That's very sweet of you."
The two of us soon ordered and talked about anything and everything. Soon we were in our seats and laughing and just enjoying each other's presence.
It was nice to finally have a friend. In a sense it felt like there was something more, but I'm not going to jump the gun. Especially if there's already a mysterious mysterious.
'Speaking of which...'
"Gaster? Can I ask you something... personal?"
"I might not answer, but yes." Gaster replied, sounding calm about me asking. I paused momentarily.
"Do the boys have a mother?"
"No. They do not. They were created and I have not looked into love." He admits, sounding a little flustered. I was worried that I made him feel uncomfortable, but more concerned about what had happened last night. "Why?"
"W-well... last night... while me and Sans were at the library. He said 'thanks mom'. I-I was just wondering if maybe I had just reminded him of his mom or something..." I sort of rambled, feeling conflicted.
"I believe that just means he likes you. It is a common verbal mistake, but it's nice to hear that he has opened up to accepting your presence. He usually doesn't do well around humans since the incident." Gaster revealed. That was shocking to hear, though it was 100% expected. Though, now I was curious about this... incident.
"The incident?" I inquired. Gaster nodded and frowned slightly.
"A human fell once and attacked me. Resulting in the scars in my skull. Sans has been traumatized by the incident unfortunately. Even Frisk, who helped us escape, he is still wary around." He explained, I nodded, feeling terrible.
"I'm sorry to hear that..."
"It's alright. We're working through it. I just wish he'd stop pulling stunts like that." Gaster said with a scolding tone, then he sighed. "I'm glad it was you he found. And I'm very thankful for you're help."
"You're welcome..."
