Happiness Happens!
August is the month when all can happen. And overall, Happiness can Happen!!!
Considering the above, we shall find all occasion to celebrate and be Happy! Why not?
So... let see what awaits us as we see the days shortening (in the Northern Hemisphere at least) and we grow nostalgic as the summer is thinning down to soon, leave room for September and all the concerns of getting back to business as usual...
Looking at what have come to pass, we have celebrated clowns, those who make us laugh and we just said goodbye to the dog-days of summer.
This Sunday, we even played in the sand, the hot sand of the beach... and the white sand of the writer's playground, the white page on which we all like to throw verbs and characters and see our imagination coming to life...
What is coming next?
Many things...
How about going back to the roots of the writing journey and dusting our penmanship? On August 14th, who will write their story on paper, with a quill, to celebrate World Calligraphy Day?
And how about continuing the writing journey with some Vogon poetry to celebrate Bad Poetry Day on August 18th?
Do you like animals? Many animals are celebrated in August; or, at least, they are brought to our awareness and concern.
August 17th is International Homeless Animals Day. Do you have a story about animal lovers rescuing all and any, about a stray cat roaming the neighborhood in search of some human love, a lone dog looking for his forever home...?
Incidentally, the 17th is also Black Cat Appreciation Day... Did you know that many black cats are not adopted... not that they bring bad luck or anything the like... they just don't look good on selfies...
If you fancy a wilder scenery, how about diving in the deepest of the Rain Forest, following the steps of Goodall and Fossey, and observe the Forest Man? August 19th is International Orangutan Day, the occasion to reflect on our print on Mother Earth... or to revisit Tarzan and the Jungle Book stories...
If you just want to rest and relax, enjoy life this remaining of August, then you can start with a sip of some golden honey... on the 16th, just get your inner pirate and celebrate Rum Day with your mateys!!
Then, take the time to observe around you on August 18th. Things happen... on Serendipity Day. Do you have a story to share about a happy accident, a pleasant surprise?
And, before we leave you celebrating life and happiness, perhaps you just might be a bit prudent on August 15th. On the 15th day of the 7th Chinese year month, the ghosts are free to roam our streets... Will you celebrating the Hungry Ghost Festival? Or maybe you will have a story to share with us about a Ghost and its adventures for a day...
