Edward had been avoiding Roy. And Roy was sure of it.  whenever Roy entered a room if it was possible for Edward to leave he would.  He would go quiet, look down at the ground and shuffle away hastily. It was extremely frustrating for Roy and even more so for those around the two. everyone wanted to know what happened between us, they all would ask things like 'is Ed ok?' 'did you two have some sort of fight or something?' and 'is there any problems at home with you two?' 

Roy never really knew how to answer but generally would reply with a simple 'no nothing is wrong, I think we're both just a little tired.' 
This didn't stop him from worrying about Edward. Not that he would admit it out loud but he had grown fond of Ed. And this sudden and dramatic change in mood since that night when he had woken Roy up was concerning. And it was this concern which drove him to now run after Edward.
They were at Central HQ and Ed had just yet again stood up and walked out mid-sentence.  Roy turned to ignore his subordinates and his work he takes a few quick strides and puts a hand on Edward's shoulder. The younger golden haired alchemist jumps slightly and tenses holding Rowena closer. 
"Let's go to the gardens for a bit, have a quick chat," Roy says softly.
Ed sighs turning to face Roy slowing head down and actively avoiding his gaze.
"There is no way for me to get out of this is there?" He sighs quietly.
"No, unless you prefer to talk here," Roy says. In defeat, Ed shuffles out to the gardens Roy following close behind.
"Look, Edward, I don't Particularly know what you're going through, or why you suddenly seem so distant and I don't mean to pry but people are worried about you ok, so please just know you can tell me anything alright?" Mustang says with concern as he and Ed stand under the shade of one of the larger trees.
"You say that but it's not that easy ok, I can't just pour my heart out to you at a whim. Otherwise, I'd have done so already," Ed whispers gently rocking Rowena as she slept in his arms. 
"Ok well is there any other way I can help you? I just want to know your ok," Mustang asks running a hand through his messy hair.
"Look I'll talk with Riza about it if that will make you feel better, but honestly Colonel, the only thing that you could do is just let me have space for a while, just so I can take the time to figure this out, please," Edward says turning to leave. 
"Ed, just promise me that you will ask someone for help if you need it, it doesn't have to be me but please just... anyone," Roy sighs
"I will," Ed responds before walking away. Roy sighs and returns to the office to finish his paperwork.

As everyone was starting to leave the office to go home for the night Edward stands just outside the door, having spent the day at the library he had come back now.
'Goodbye colonel,' he heard her say as she left the room.
"Hey Hawkeye, the colonel wants me to talk to someone and you're the only one I trust enough with this, do you mind giving me some advice?" Ed asks once she steps out and closes the door.
"I don't mind, walk with me, I'll drop you off at the colonel's house," she replies with a shrug.
"So tell me, what's wrong?"
Ed takes a deep breath and falls into step beside her.
"Well, I don't really know how to say this but... I uh..." He mumbles. "I think I might like the colonel, more then I should," he states.
"Its normal to think of people you work with as friends Edward, that doesn't really explain why you're avoiding him," Hawkeye says as they arrive at her car. Unlocking the car they both get in.
"No, I don't mean friends. I mean... I think... that I might have a small crush on him?" Ed admits with uncertainty.
"Oh... I see," Riza says with a pause.
"And I know that it's wrong because he is my superior and well... older. but every time I'm near him my stomach gets butterflies and I get flustered and I don't know, it wasn't so bad before I kissed him but now I just can't get my head around how I feel and what the right thing to..." Edward starts to explain only to be cut off by Riza slamming in the breaks.
"YOU KISSED HIM!" She calls out in shock.
"Oh... I wasn't actually going to tell you that..." Ed sighs.  "A while back Gracia and Elicia visited and Roy was sleeping so I went to wake him up and I tripped and accidentally Landed on him and kissed him and it was honestly an utter mess. I don't think Mustang even knows what happened," he murmurs
"Oh hell, that makes things a little more difficult, uh... look if he doesn't know then you don't have to tell him until your ready to but this seems like something you should tell him, Ed,  maybe not about the kiss but tell him how you feel because it can go two ways. He accepts your feelings and you Two become a thing, or he declines your feelings and helps you to get over them, personally I think it would be safer if he chooses the latter, not many people around hear are as accepting as us and they might have a few too many questions and opinions of your relationship, especially regarding the age difference and homosexual aspect," Riza advises pulling back onto the road.
"I know... and that's why I didn't want to tell Alphonse, I'm afraid," Ed admits.
"Of Al?" Riza asks confused.
"Of how he will react to me being bisexual, I couldn't care less about anyone else but Alphonse, granny, Whinry and you guys, I was pretty sure you would be ok with it, I don't know why just had a hunch... a gut feeling I guess," Ed chuckles humorlessly "I could get out of this car and scream it to the world but for some reason the thought of telling the people I am closest to terrifies me," he adds.
"I understand, I'll keep it secret until you are ready to tell them yourself but I really do think it is best for both you and the colonel if you both sit down in private and talk about this," Riza says as she pulls into the driveway of Roy's house.
"Thank you Riza," Edward smiles. "Have a good night," he says quietly.

(Not dead just a short hiatus, I don't know when the next chapter will be ready as I'm currently working through a bad case of writers block, happy new year hope y'all had a great holiday enjoy the chapter,)
