Chapter 8

Cyrus

I was down right pissed. Who did he think he was huh? Bossing my mate? I knew Lizzy wanted to sit with us but she didnt asset him back. Why didnt she speak up? What was holding her back? My wolf and i both wanted to get to know our mate.

"I dont like him," Nikky said.
"Likewise," i scowled.
"It was obvious Lizzy wanted to stay with us," Blair said.
"Yeah her expression gave it all," Jake said.
"Why didnt she said no then?" Alexis asked.
"Perhaps he must be someone special?" Jake suggested.

I let out a low growl at that careful so the humans around us wouldnt hear it. Special? What was so special about him huh? My wolf was growling inside to go after them and pummel him. I held him back knowing that it would just made things worse for us.

"Easy Cyrus. Lizzy didnt appear interested in him," Blair said, taking a sip of her shake.
"She's mine!" I said, gripping my ice cream cup.
"Calm down man. You cant just shuft here," Jake warned.
"I will not let him take her!" I exclaimed.
"Then tell her who you are to Lizzy. Be upfront," Alexis said.
"Or better yet try to be her friend first," Nikky suggested.

The suggestion calmed both me and my wolf down immensely. I relaxed my muscles and body and took a deep breath.

"I am going to find out where she is," i muttered.

I knew i wouldnt rest until i knew whether Lizzy was safe or not. I didnt like her being with that arrogant bastard.

"Dont do anything reckless Cyrus," Jake said warningly.
"Dont worry. I wont," i said.

Standing up i made my way out of the shop in search of finding my mate. I couldnt mindlink her like i would have liked which sucked real bad. But i could clearly feel her strong scent of honey and rose that made my wolf rise up inside me.

Following the route of her scent i started walking. I finally reached a residential area that looked quite well-off. Her scent was strong in front of one house and i comtemplated whether or not to go inside. I didnt want my mate to think that i was a psychopath stalker/killer.

Why was i so worried about her reaction when i knew that i was just going to reject her? My pack would never accept her. She was a human. She could never fit in amongst us.

Maybe coming here was a mistake. I should have never followed her. What if she comes out of the house and sees me? She will think i followed her. Which in a way was true. I ran my hand through my blonde hair and turned away from the house.

Just at that moment i heard the opening of a door and turned back around to see Lizzy stomp her way outside. Her annoyed expression just said that she had a fight with somebody. Most probably that bastard. I contenplated whether or not to go to her but then i decided against it.

I was just about to leave when i heard her voice.

"What are you doing here?" Lizzy asked.

Turning back around i looked into her soft brown eyes and felt me and my wolf both relax.

"I was just huh visiting the neighborhood and saw you come here," i said.

I felt bad lieing to her but i couldnt just up and tell her about how i came to be here now could i?

"Well now you just saw me," Lizzy said, crossing her arms over her chest

I smirked at her cute but flustered response before taking slow steps towards her. She was tall but i was a foot over taller than her. Raising my right hand i brushed a strand of free hair and tucked it behind her ear. Lizzy let out a small sigh which i wouldnt have heard if i had been a human.

"Where's your partner?" I asked, feeling a bit irritated.
"Inside," Lizzy said.
"Isnt he going to drop you home?" I asked.
"I had an argument with him," she sighed.
"So he's not going to drop you home?" I asked, not fully surprised.

Stupid human. Thinking he could treat my mate like this.

"What are you doing here?" A voice asked.

Speak of the devil and he shall arrive.

"Unlike you he has manners," Lizzy glared at him.

Even her anger was kind of cute.

"You are taking side of a total stranger?" The guy scowled at me.
"He's not a total stranger. His name his Cyrus and he attends our school," Lizzy said.
"Why are you defending him?" He asked.
"Why are being such a dick to him?" Lizzy retorted, causing me to smirk.

The bond wasnt even strong yet she was defending us. I found it cute.

"Come on Lizzy just call it a truce already," dickhead sighed.
"Nope. Not unless you apologize. By the way you dont have to drive me home. I am going with Cyrus," she said.

My wolf and my heart both gave a joyful leap inside. I felt like smiling until my cheeks both hurt badly. She was trusting us and i hadnt even made an actual effort.

"You are trusting him over me?" He asked loudly, glaring at me.

I just gave him my best smirk.

"Yeah. I trust my instincts. Come on Cyrus please take me home," Lizzy said, turning to face me.
"Of course," i nodded.
"How can you trust him knowing he could easily kill you?" He asked.

With that my annoyance was back. I strode farword until i was eye to eye with him. I couldnt care about his name right now.

"Listen here buddy. I could be anything but a killer. And remember one thing i am never going to hurt Lizzy nor let her get hurt," i hissed angrily.

With that i turned on my heel and left but not before motioning Lizzy to follow me.

Feedback would be appreciated! :)
