9) Reading Emails
"You found Kat?" Uraraka gasped, leaning forward to read Mina's face better. The pink alien was sitting across from her in the restaurant.
"Girl, no. Kamibabe found him, apparently he started working at UA."
Uraraka leaned back in her seat, still excited about hearing about Bakugo for the first time after two years of complete radio silence. "Really?! I wonder if he is doing better? I know he didn't take it very well–"
"In his defense, none of us took it well either. He just took the events harder because of how close they were." Iida entered the conversation from his spot beside Uraraka.
Both the girls nodded at Iida's words, the atmosphere suddenly a bit more damp. Uraraka cleared her throat in an attempt to force her voice to be less wobbly. It didn't work.
"Do you think he has--that he has visited Deku yet?" She whispered, voice cracking. She looked down at her lap, feeling a sense of despondency wash over her.
Iida put his hand on her shoulder, gently squeezing. His presence let her know he was not alone.
Shoji, who had been awfully silent up to this point, rubbed the back of his neck using one of his hands. He shifted in his seat slightly. "We shouldn't try to assume." He said quietly. He knew what they were all thinking.
Bakugo had clearly needed time to heal, so he left after the whole ordeal. Right now he was probably trying to start his new life, his life as a hero who had lost a lot in a previous battle.
They all Bakugo's life had changed more so than anyone else's that day. They knew he needed to regroup and find his path again.
That didn't quell their questions and sadness at their friend leaving the class behind, leaving his friends behind. No one had seen hide nor hair of the blonde hero. Not even from the news.
"Baku-babe is strong." Mina added onto the conversation, in an attempt to lighten the conversation. "I'm sure he is doing better."
A couple moments pass by, everyone's spirits barely lifted. But then a waiter comes with the food. The four heroes lighten up further as their meals get placed in front of them. From that moment forward, the conversation is light, as small talk permeates the air around them.
"I wish we could check in on Kat." Uraraka mumbled at the end of their dinner, as the group had begun walking out of the restaurant. "I want to make sure he is okay, yaknow?"
Mina linked an arm around the brunette's shoulders. "Me too, babe. Me too. But guess what? We will see him soon, I can feel it in my horns." She winked at her friend, causing Uraraka to give out a laugh.
"Wait, did you not read the email?" Iida butted in, looking at the two girls with a confused expression.
The girls looked at him blankly, and blinked. "What email?" They chorused.
As Iida took both his hands to rub his temples. Shoji chose to answer their question.
"Nezu sent out an email to Class 1A and some other prominent figures to speak about our role as heroes."
The four stared at each other in silence before Mina grabbed onto Uraraka's shoulders and violently started shaking her. "I told you I could feel it in my horns!!" She yelled, her voice making the civilians around the group turn and look at the loud hero in confusion.
