3: The Incident
The Incident.
"Come on Naru, it's time to wake up! You're gonna be late for the academy." Akane's voice called from behind the bedroom door, Naru groaned nuzzling her face in the pillow, and waved her hand absentmindedly. "Now!" Akane warned one last time.
"Okay!" Naru whined pushing up from her bed with a huff. "Academy needs to start at noon, not 7." She grumbled scratching her head and stumbled from her bed and got ready for the academy.
"You're really late, if you want to stay on those training exercises then you need to make sure you get up early." Akane scolded as Naru walked out depositing her bag next to the front door.
"I know, sorry." She yawned. "Can you bandage my wound?" Naru questioned, Akane turned eyeing the four thin red scratch marks on Naru's chin and a couple more on her arms.
"Those cats are mean huh?" She chuckled, pressing the bandage down.
"Yeah! Especially when my cat ears fell from my head, and I was so close to reaching the second to the top level!" Naru puffed, Akane gave a slight smirk before she brushed Naru's hair a bit, her short unruly locks reminding Akane of Minato's unruly spikes. She twirled a piece of Naru's hair with an unreadable face before she took in a deep breath and stood up quickly.
"Well, you are officially late, so you're gonna have to eat on the go." She stated, Naru frowned, taking the bag as Akane ushered her quickly to the door.
"Well, can I go to Sasuke's tonight?"
"No!" Akane snipped before shaking her head. "Sorry, no, I'll need you tonight, so directly after the academy you can go to the park and I'll get you there. And I mean it, only to the park."
"Yes ma'am," Naru tugged her shoes on and walked out the door, Akane shut the door with a tight smile.
'She's been strange these past few months, I can't do deliveries, not going anywhere without someone with me, staying up super late, not to mention she's skipped telling me 'I love you' in the mornings when I leave. And her longing stares, maybe it's too much sugar in her diet...' Naru mused, biting into her breakfast and headed directly to the Uchiha compound to pick up Sasuke and be escorted by Itachi per her morning routine. She nodded to the posted Uchiha guards at the inner compound, Itachi explained that to access this section of the compound you have to have express permission, unlike the rest of the compound.
"Itachi? Sasuke?" She called out arriving at their home, she giggled and rubbed the head of Shiro who yapped at her feet.
"Hm? Oh good morning Naru-chan." She smiled at Mikoto who exited the home.
"Hi, Mikoto-sama." Naru bowed. "Is Sasuke ready?" She chirped.
"Actually, I'm sorry but Sasuke woke up with a fever and stuffy nose."
"Well, he did fall into the pond water and it was kinda cold." Naru giggled behind her hand. "Guess he got sick from that?"
"I'm afraid so," Mikoto nodded. "And Itachi was called with his father to the Hokage's office, so he had to leave early, so I'm afraid you came this way for nothing."
"Ah it's okay, I got to see Shiro!" She chuckled. "I'll get going, tell Sasuke to feel better, bye!" She waved running from the house with a wave.
Mikoto returned the gesture before it fell like her smile. 'Kushina......'
"MMMOOOMMMM!!!" Sasuke's voice whined from inside, she sighed, returning to tend to her son and his snotty nose.

"I do appreciate you being willing to attend this meeting Fugaku, as you know your son and Shisui have been working hard to maintain village peace that does include the clan," Hiruzen said looking at the Uchiha leader across from him, he nodded his head and glanced at his son who sat next to him.
"Itachi has had a clear vision from a young age, one of few not clouded by the hate of shinobi," Fugaku commented, Hiruzen smiled. "But I'm afraid a meeting with me won't fix everything."
"This will be the beginning, I would like to hear what the clan has to say, things we can come to an agreement over."
"Father, I told Hokage-sama about the clan's plan," Itachi spoke up, Fugaku whipped his head towards his son, his charcoal eyes flashing to red before quickly fading. "It was what was right."
"Don't be angry with him Fugaku, I asked and I knew there was something building." Hiruzen interrupted, drawing his attention once again.
"So, what will be the punishment? I fail to believe a coup would be ignored.."
"Fugaku, please, I want to create a path to peace for everyone, the unfairness against the Uchiha clan has gone on for far too long, had Minato still been around it was his next mission." Fugaku looked down. "I promised I would do what I could to see his dream happen, so please, will you be willing to work with me? Join your son and his vision of peace. Help the next generation thrive in joy away from pain?"
"I'll hear what you have to say first Hiruzen, then we can discuss further movements with the clan," Fugaku said, crossing his arms over his chest, Itachi sighed heavily and looked out the window smiling as he watched the classes split for their teachings.

Naru giggled as she ran through the fields during the Kunoichi class that was taking place in the valley of the Back Hills so they could learn about flowers.
"Come now, girls! Make a half circle here!" Suzume called, clapping her hands, the girls groaned but followed her instructions sitting in the grass. "We have much to go over today, we'll be discussing the art of Ikebana and how to tell the difference between harmless and poisonous plants." She smiled, Naru heaved a sigh as she twirled a piece of grass in her hands, despite her protests she was ordered to participate in the Kunoichi classes.
"Can anyone tell me the three elements of Ikebana?"
"Ooh! I know, I know!" Ino chirped, waving her hand in the air.
Naru rolled her eyes as Ino began the long-winded explanation of the Soe, Shin, and Hikae making some stare in awe at her knowledge, Naru stared at the clouds tuning out Suzume's lecture.
"Naru!" She jumped in shock at the harsh call of her name. "Daydreaming again, one more time and I'll have to have a meeting with your guardian, young lady."
"Sorry." She murmured.
"Go with your group and I hope you heard some of my teachings."
Naru turned, spotting Ino, Sakura, and Hinata beckoning her and she smiled following them.
"You're gonna get in trouble Naru, and I won't explain it all again!" Ino commented, flicking her growing blonde hair and rolling her blue eyes at Naru.
"Didn't ask." She grumbled. "I wanna take shinobi classes! Not flower arranging." She grumbled.
"The boys have to take them too ya know." Sakura leaned forward.
"Yeah, yeah, so what are we doing?"
"Ugh! We have to collect the three elements of Ikebana, Soe Shin, and Hikae." Ino grumbled.
Naru looked around the clearing confused. "The Shin could b... be a cherry blossom, maybe." Hinata quietly commented.
"Hopefully a branch of 'em fell." Sakura looked around the trees.
"No problem!" Naru chuckled, stepping back a few paces before running forward.
"Naru!" Ino cried out as she sprung from the ground and up the tree trunk grabbing a solid limb.
"Which one looks best?" She called to her friends who stared in awe.
"How'd ya do that!?" Sakura cried out, her own pink hair practically bristling and her green eyes sparkling in excitement.
"I get chakra lessons from Sasuke's older brother, he's been teaching me to use chakra on my feet!" She voiced proudly.
"Get the one at the top, that would look great!" Ino said, looking at the tall branch. "Make it at least a foot tall!"
Naru nodded, climbing up and grabbing the branch snapping it, and dropping it down, Ino smiled as she caught it and turned to their vessel of water and carefully placed it in the spiked flower 'frog' tilting it left and right until it stayed at the right angle.
"One down, now the soe and Hikae,"
Naru jumped from the branch landing in a barrel roll and stood up.
"You gotta teach me how to use chakra like that!" Sakura bounced on her feet, Naru nodded.
"Maybe Itachi-nii could teach us better than this junk." She mumbled at the end.
"Where is Sasuke-kun anyways?" Sakura asked. "He wasn't in homeroom..." She trailed off
"He's got a cold, he fell into a pond last night," Naru supplied.
Ino and Sakura gasped at the news. "We'll have to make this perfect and we can take it to him after school!"
"Well, Sasuke doesn't really like cute things or flowers-"
"Nonsense! We know Sasuke-kun, he'll love these!" Naru heaved a sigh glancing at Hinata.
"Fangirls, right?"
"R...right." She whispered, a blush creeping on her cheeks.
"Wanna find some different flowers while they dote on their thingy?"
"Sure." Naru grinned at the answer wrapping her arm in Hinata's and skipping along as the girl stumbled after a deep blush on her cheeks.
Naru smiled as she placed a twisted vine with flowers on Hinata's short purple hair, making her laugh.
"Naru, Hinata! This is not the exercise I instructed!" Suzume scolded, and Hinata whimpered.
"It's my fault, not Hinata's!" Naru defended. "We just kinda wanted to make our own, it may not be the Ikebana, but... Well, it is flower arranging." Naru presented the circle containing four different flowers intertwined with vines and leaves, Suzume sighed heavily.
"Fine, but next time do as I say, not what you want! Understand?"
"Yes ma'am." Naru winked at Hinata and rejoined the groups as they presented their arrangements.
Naru laughed as she dodged Sakura's outstretched hand as they played freeze tag after the academy let out.
Naru secretly pumped chakra in her feet giving a burst of speed touching the swing huffing for air as Sakura groaned and whirled around to chase the other kids who were un-freezing the others.
"Sakura!" She turned to her mom who waved from the entrance.
"Bye!" Sakura waved as she took her mom's hand and eagerly began to tell her about her day.
Naru pumped her legs raising her height on the swings, she shook her head at Shikamaru who lay on the seat on his stomach dragging his fingers and toes in the sand.
"Go higher and you'll flip over the bar." She looked at Chouji who sat on the seat next to her munching from his bag of chips.
"That's the goal!" She cheered, closing her eyes and enjoying the wind whipping her hair around.
"Shikamaru! Chouji time to go home." She blinked, slowing down at the voice of Shikaku called, she watched her remaining two friends gather their things. Naru frowned, noticing now she would be left by herself and Akane was officially running late.
"You want us to walk you home?" Shikamaru offered a gesture to his dad.
"N... no, my aunty said I had to wait, she'll be here, probably doing some errands first!" She waved him off. "I'll see ya in the morning!" She called as the boys walked down the street and out of view.
Naru looked at the setting sun and gulped. 'She's never been this late, or late ever. Did something happen? No, she'd find some way to get me... If I go home and she comes here to find me gone I'll be in deep trouble, but I've never stayed out in the dark without knowing... what do I do?' Naru bit her nail looking both ways, turning on the swing and watching as the sun got lower and lower and the lamps began to light.
"Dattebayo! I'm eight years old and I can walk home alone!" Naru exclaimed, jumping from her spot, she grabbed her bag taking in a deep breath as she stepped from the playground glancing looks behind as she began to walk down the road quickly before running to get home faster.
Naru slipped between the crowds of people on Tea avenue which was bustling with the evening crowd like the sweet shop would be at this time. 'Maybe that's why she didn't come' Naru thought as she arrived at the street, she rounded the corner and skidded to stop finding the shop closed up and the outside lights turned off.
"What...?" Naru murmured as she slowly walked to the building, the metal roll doors pulled down.
"The shop's been closed for two hours." Naru turned to find their neighbor and frequent purchaser Kaori.
"Two hours?"
"Yeah, she rolled them down and went upstairs, I questioned if she was okay but she ignored me, she looked sick, tell her I hope she feels better if you need anything you come right over."
"Thank you, Kaori!" Naru nodded racing up the stairs rifling through her bag finding her key and shoving the door open. "Aunty?! I'm home!" Naru tossed her bag and shoes by the door peering into the dark home. "I heard you were sick. Akane?"
Naru walked through the house quietly checking all the rooms, finding each empty. "Aunty?" She whispered. "Where are you?" Naru walked to the stairs that connected their home to the restaurant checking the darkened kitchen and sitting area, finding no trace of Akane. A clatter from the apartment had Naru racing upstairs with a smile but it dropped into horror as she was greeted by a figure dressed in black with a metal gauntlet on their right arm, a weapon belt, and a white mask connected to a black hood hiding their identity.
"Who are you?" Naru growled a tremor traveled down her back. "Get out of my home!"
They shot forward reaching for the girl, Naru yelped, dodging, and scrambled to the side but screamed as her hair was entangled in the tight grip of her intruder who promptly hauled her off the floor. "Let go!" Naru cried, kicking her legs in vain and gripping at her hair trying to relieve the pressure.
The glint of a kunai caught her eye as the blade shot toward her neck, she screamed in anger throwing her body up her feet connecting at the shoulder effectively making them drop her. Naru scramble crawled across the ground before they flickered in front of her rearing their foot back and kicking her in the stomach. She heaved a cough as she was sent backward into the wall, her leg hitting the bookshelf. Naru grimaced, holding her stomach as they stood over her. "My aunt... will... kill you." She managed between gasps of air. A kunai embedded into the ground next to her making Naru flinch before she grabbed the blade and pushed chakra into her feet kicking off the wall and shot around the couch and into the kitchen. She cried out in fear, throwing everything she could grab at the menacing figure as they approached her, hoping it would deter them until Akane would arrive and save her.
Naru turned for a heavy mixer before her shirt was grabbed and she was flipped back onto the table, the air knocked from her lungs again.
"S...stop." She rasped flipping over the side and hiding under the curtain, her eyes darting left and right trying to find a way out. 'I gotta get outside, it's the only way!' Naru raced forward to the front door before a kunai shot past her, slicing a piece of her hair and colliding with the side window shattering the glass. "What do you want?!" She yelped, stumbling back into the door and sliding to the side whimpering as glass embedded into her bare foot.
They walked up slowly reaching for Naru, she yanked a kunai from the table and sliced down drawing their blood, they snatched her wrist holding her up until her feet barely brushed the floor, they wrenched her hand to the side and the crack of the now broken bone echoed before Naru screamed with tears slipping down her cheeks. She screamed as they spun and flung her over, she crashed into the coffee table that shattered from the impact, glass, and splinters embedded in her skin.
Naru growled deep looking up and froze as they lunged for her. "NO!" She screamed throwing her hands up as an explosion shook the home, a loud thud made her peek to find them sprawled on the ground twitching in obvious pain, the glass in the house shattered everywhere. "Wh...what?" She whispered glancing around and stood slowly, wincing as the glass made it known of their presence in her body, blood dripping down her skin.
'Jiji, he can help me, or Itachi-nii...' She tiptoed around the body of her attacker, she paused at her shoes finding one too close to them. She grabbed the handle pulling the door open only to find them standing before her, she opened her mouth to scream before their hand latched on her throat in an iron grip. Naru gasped and scratched at their arm to no avail. Naru groaned, feeling the lack of oxygen begin to take hold as her vision turned gray and black, her strength slipped away.
WAKE UP Naru snapped her eyes open letting out an inhuman growl as her chakra sparked before a red tail shot out slicing them through the face, Naru fell back heaving for air coughing glancing over to her enemy who was fully intended to kill her, a deep crack nearly broke their mask. 'What was that? I gotta get out of here.' Naru struggled to stand before falling back, her head hitting the couch causing more pain to course through her body. Come to me.
Naru blinked rapidly as her home melted away into a dark sewer-like tunnel, the end pitch darkness, water up to her ankles.
"Where am I?"
Come forward. She numbly walked forward to the dark feeling an intense aura that made her gasp for air before pushing through and finding herself standing before a large gate with a seal.
You're in danger and you're going to die. Give in to me, I'll save you.
"Who are you?"
"Your strength, power, and future. Rely on me and I'll save you." Orange and red chakra bubbled out around her, she gasped as it swirled around her body.
-Flashback
"Aunty I'm confused, if you're really gonna let me join the academy then why do we have to practice chakra molding before they teach it?" Naru questioned.
"Because, whether you'd noticed or not, you have more chakra than the average academy or even full-fledged ninja. And you must know how to firstly control it so it doesn't control you, and how to utilize certain types and amounts.' Naru nodded following Akane as she led her to the forest.
"Well, I can tell the difference between chakra in my body, one is cool like water, and the other burns like lava, sometimes it kinda sparks if I'm too excited..." Naru mumbled.
"And how often are you overly excited?" Akane teased as Naru's cheeks turned pink... "You must learn to separate emotions from chakra. How to unconsciously mold chakra to help you, but to not overtake you. You have a special seal intertwined with your chakra to delay the change, but you can still be corrupted by it. So be careful. And pay attention carefully." Naru gave a grunt of affirmation and nodded her head rapidly.
Flashback-
Naru closed her eyes tight, taking in a calming breath, her chakra swirled with the angry red and orange joining it making it lighten to a gold and white color before it slammed into her chest.
Naru groaned, opening her eyes to find herself laying on the ground, she looked around before her enemy's foot slammed into her stomach, she coughed up a mouth full of blood as she skidded on the ground. Naru pulled herself up slowly feeling the broken bones, she glanced back watching as they shot towards her again. She closed her eyes tight as the chakra shot forward and the blow never landed on her, she peeked to see red chakra shaped like tails wrapped around her enemy's arms.
Naru attempted to speak but found the burning in her throat prevented the words. She motioned watching as the red chakra threw them left to right letting them smash into the kitchen. A crack and cry of pain made Naru pause as they stood slowly, the mask crumbling to the ground below, their body shaking in clear pain.
Naru found herself walking towards them as they balanced on their hands and knees coughing up spots of blood and saliva before raising their face revealing to be Akane before her.
"A...aunty?" She rasped, body shaking in fear before she covered her mouth with a gasp. "I didn't know! I thought you were trying to kill me!" She laughed running over and dropping to her knees, hesitating to touch her. "I didn't know- was this a test? I don't get it." Her voice quivered, eyeing her as Akane didn't say a word. "Please don't be mad- ahh!" Naru screamed as a chakra-enhanced fist slammed against her head, knocking her back and disorienting her. Akane stood slowly standing above the child, her face free of emotion as she stared down at the girl she raised, a kunai twirled around her finger before she slammed it down into Naru's hand causing her to scream in agony as her blood seeped on the wooden floor. "Stop!!" Naru sobbed and tugged weakly at the blade that kept her in place. "Why are you... you doing this?" She managed but received silence in response. Akane raised another kunai, raising it high above her head.
'More arms! I need more arms!' Naru thought, Akane's cry of pain made her jolt as she opened her eyes to see her aunt thrown back once again before the chakra yanked the kunai from Naru's hand and promptly dropped it and faded to nothing.
Naru stood barely able to stand on her own two feet, the pulsing pain of every punch, kick, and smash into her brain.
"Why are you doing this?!" Naru cried, her lower lip quivering, Akane stood popping her neck, and slowly stalked up to Naru, she whimpered in fear rushing towards the stairs below hoping to hide until Akane snapped out of whatever she was doing. Naru raced around the corner ducking under the tables and quickly hearing them crash over as Akane chased her, but unlike their normal games of tag or hide and seek, Naru knew this was much more deadly. The eight-year-old slid into the kitchen squeezing herself behind the shelves of supplies cupping a hand over her mouth knowing Akane did not know about this hiding spot, she used it frequently to pull pranks or to skip class once in a while.
"Naru, Naru come out." Her voice called as the light flipped on. "It's me, come out." Her tone softened, Naru gripped the shelf about to peek out. Don't.
Naru recoiled her hand watching as Akane searched the spots of her normal hiding places, Naru swore her heart was thumping audibly, as sweat slipped down her face.
Akane looked around the room, carefully listening for any sound before she focused her own chakra and whipped her head towards the shelf grabbing the large item and knocking it forward revealing the terrified face of Naru who screamed and tried to scramble free before she grabbed the girls ankle and threw her through the doors listening as she smashed into the tables.
"Time to end this, once and for all," Akane murmured, Naru groaned, twitching as she tried to move around.
"Why? What's wrong with you!?" She growled turning her watery eyes towards her aunt before red chakra shot from her body wrapping around Akane's body, one tail each tightly squeezing her legs, arms, and torso, another coiled around her neck, the tightness growing until Akane fell to her knees.
"I'm sorry." She whispered, Naru paused, cocking her head, her eyes full of distrust.
"Aunty?" She whispered, her heart fluttering in the hope that maybe something was wrong with her aunt, and if so, Naru would fix it, she would be there to help her through it.
"Sorry, I led you to believe I loved and cared for you. That I let you get the slightest glimmer of hope to lead a normal life, you see - urk-" Akane paused coughing heavily before staring into Naru's watery ones. "Eight years ago, you were condemned to this, the Yondaime Hokage made the choice of his own free will to take Kyuubi No Kitsune and seal the monster inside of your infant body. So you see, you have no hope to be normal, to lead a happy life, you were bred and born for one purpose only, and that is to be a weapon, an unstoppable weapon for the village. That is your only purpose in life. Some shitty gift from a father huh?"
"W...what?" Naru squeaked.
"Mmm yes, you were a little slow to put the pieces together, the Yondaime or Namikaze Minato was your father, he condemned you to this and died the same night. He also took my friend, my everything but blood sister from my life, taking the beast that was stored inside of her body which killed her as well. So not only did I lose two of my closest friends, and the village lost hundreds of ninjas we all were put in danger of your existence. But I had the heaviest burden, the Sandaime, he decided to drop you in my lap, ordering me to care for, raise and love you as if you were my family, to prepare you and make you grow strong so you could become Konoha's trump card, but I couldn't do it, you see I hate you." Akane hissed, Naru dug her nails into the floor. "Had it not been for the Hokage's multiple visits, I would have dropped you into the woods and let the wild animals deal with you. Or I would have killed you in your sleep, but instead, I was forced to suffer eight agonizing years looking at your face, knowing you're the reason Minato and Kushina were taken from me." A tear slipped down Akane's cheek before she let out a gasp as the tail around her middle began to constrict tighter, the look of pain and anger replaced Naru's shock. "You are a monster, destined to destroy all you touch, so I intended to kill you tonight, who knew you actually had some skill?" Naru growled as the tail around her leg squeezed until her bone broke.
"Why raise me? Why not tell him?"
"I did, but he forced me to, so in turn here we are, I will do everything in my power to watch you die. And yet, I hesitate, because, despite my hate, I think a part of me still..... Still wishes it could be different, that this didn't have to happen." Her voice softened with her face, her bound hand reaching out and cupping Naru's face, her finger delicately rubbing her skin, Naru whimpered as she nuzzled the hand she knew, the aunt she knew, despite everything, she still loved the woman who raised her.
"Aunty I- '' The faint scraping of metal on metal was the only warning she received before the hidden blade in Akane's gauntlet shot out stabbing into her cheek before Akane yanked her arm up, the blades ripping through her flesh and eye. Naru screamed in agony as the burning pain in her head grew and blood poured out, she cupped her hands over the wound trying not to scream too loudly. Akane's scream of pain was cut short before loud snaps of bones echoed and the splash of warm liquid soaked Naru's front.
Her chest rose and fell rapidly as she forced her remaining eye to open and take in the grisly scene before her. Akane's body was bent and broken, her limbs bent at unnatural positions including her neck, two of the red tails punctured through her stomach and chest, the warm liquid identified as Akane's blood. Her stomach churned and she struggled to not throw up, her red chakra began to fade from view, Akane's body began to fall on Naru, she scrambled back before the chakra disappeared and Akane's body fell into the blood, her ash blonde hair stained red, and her eyes void of life. "A... Akane?" Naru tried before she slid forward splinters adding to the glass in her skin as she shook Akane's shoulder. "Wh.. why... WHY!?!" She screamed before she reached her own face feeling the obvious gouges in her skin through her eye. Naru threw her head back screaming in agony and punched the ground a few times.
Minutes ticked by before Naru hobbled towards the stairs dragging herself up intent on getting to Itachi. Her eyes roved over all the damage to her once-happy home before she looked away. Low hissing made her whirl around fully prepared to find Akane behind her but found no one. More hissing sounds filled her hearing, she whirled left and right before she spotted the found now triggered explosion tags, she looked around finding multiple placings of the tags all around her that began to fizzle. Naru scrambled towards the door grabbing the handle before her vision was engulfed in white as burning heat enveloped her body.
Naru groaned as she forced her eye open, finding fire all around, blisters from the heat painfully erupted on her arms, the smell of burning flesh invaded her nose and a high pitch whining filled her ears, making her turn to find the house collapsed in the explosion.
The walls of the building collapsed and fire engulfed the building, Naru found herself feet from the burning and completely crushed body of her aunt. She stared at the spot numbly as charred wood collapsed around her, smoke invading her lungs and making tears slip from her one good eye.
"M..my fault..." Naru whispered and flinched at the pain. "Am I ... I-"
"AKANE!!! NARU!" The voice of Kaori called through the metal with other screams as they tried to figure out what happened. 'Was she right? Am I just a monster? I deserve this... I should di...die.' Naru thought.
Or live and destroy them all. Naru closed her eye and reappeared before the cage peering into the darkness, and finding the monstrous fox before her.
"You... you YOU DID THIS TO ME!!!" She screamed.
"I did nothing, the human Akane did this, the humans of Konoha did this. Your life ended before it began when they shouldered you with me, but now you can choose to keep fighting for stupid humans that will not see you as anything but a monster, or make them see you as a monster and destroy them, make them feel your pain." He growled, his sharp teeth glimmering white, her red eyes shined with maliciousness and a hint of enjoyment.
Naru turned away from him, clenching her hands tight until her knuckles cracked. The fox growled, throwing his chakra out in a wave that slammed into Naru. She struggled against the whirling current until she relaxed, falling backward.
"Akane! Naru!" Kaori called as they peeled the burning metal back and black smoke filled the night air. "Are you two okay!?!" She yelled wincing at the heat. An ear-piercing scream echoed through the darkness before everything fell silent, only the hissing fire and splintering wood filled the air.
They watched as movement shifted before a red glow shone illuminating Naru's body, Kaori and others sighed in relief spotting the child. "Come! We'll help!" Kaori yelled, stepping forward before the low growl that clearly wasn't human shook the windows as Naru's body fell in a crouch before exploding forwards slicing through Kaori landing in the center. Naru in the middle of the burning red chakra that formed into a fox cloak, her eyes shining white as her canines grew long with her nails, she screamed loudly, the shockwave shattering the glass.
"KYUUBI!!!" The gathering people screamed before they tried to scramble away as Naru launched forward tearing through the panicking bystanders and leaving her burning home behind.
