Prologue
A trembling echo escaped through great and monstrous trees. Covering the stilled land and gnarly evergreens, snow. It sheaths the ground like a coat, lighting up the darkness and trailing in great miles. Footsteps peered through the thickened layer of snow flakes washing away the prints, which fell out of the puffy clouds hiding away the blue sky.
In the distance; a woman under a black cape is trembling, arms covering her thin frame frantically, desperate for some kind of warmth. Her wolf, too weak to form, is whimpering. The wind blows her golden hair in different directions and even in her mouth she spits the strands out. Every step taken by this freezing werewolf would come a stumble. Hunger is engraving her tummy, exhausting the small body she lived.
To allow the cold to knock her into a sedated state is a wish crossing the spiraling thoughts inside this woman's brain. Snow pulls the weight she carried down at the bottom of her torn pants and the shoes which are falling apart; toes numb as the cold took control of her body slowly.
It is the middle of winter and Eillek is running from something she couldn't believe, speaking silently to whatever was in the sky would save her. Flashbacks flood her mind and the fear that she might get caught flushed through her.
The freezing gets worse the farther away she is from her old home—in search of a new one. With the cold penetrating skin, her pace began to feel unhurried. For years, she lived on her own, completely isolating herself from the outside world unless there was a substantial need to get more food; not wanting to put one in more danger, she would wait until days passed on an empty stomach before finally trekking out to the woods to catch a bite. Completely defeated, there was no other way but to abandon the place once called home . . . danger had replaced itself amongst the small territory.
As if time would go dark and she would die, finally, something in the distance showed up; another being's silhouette. The snow hurdling onto her pale skin and blue nose made it harder to see. Opening arms toward the being and a tumble later, her face and body are now in the snow, tears that are forming frozen into ice as quickly as they came. Her cape, which is around her neck, slithers down her side and flutters with the bitter cold.
"Hello?" a man's voice wails out to Eillek and she knew he had seen her struggling. Eillek tries to lift her burdening head to reply, but nothing comes out of her shaking mouth and soon enough her head fails to stay up and darkness sweeps her thoughts.
AUTHOR NOTE: Hey guys! I'm excited to announce that I've placed all other books on pause to rewrite my story "Her new alpha" but changed the title to "Fugitive Luna" as it fits the story better. Theres a lot I wouldn't have written in the original one so I decided to rewrite. Please do enjoy!! And ignore how it looks, it's because I'm writing on Google docs and pasting here since it's easier on me, I plan to self publish one day and want it to be in correct format somewhere (-: anywho, please do Vite and comment if you enjoyed this chapter!
REMINDER: this book will have very mature content, will talk about race, sex, hard language, abuse, etc. This is your ONLY warning! If you do not agree with what's going on with characters and such, please either exit the book and don't read it or move on. I don't need people to accuse me of promoting any behavior happening in the story neither: don't like it simply don't read it.
