"Mom I need to tell you something", Jennie suddenly yelled out as she sat in front of her mirror while one of their familie's stylists was doing her hair. "What is it Darling?", her mother asked as she looked critical at Jennie's body. "The dress doesn't really suit you anymore", she added, not really interested in what Jennie had to say.
"Did you gain weight?", this was her next question which made Jennie to let out a sigh. "Just a bit, I'll work out a bit more", she mumbled but her Mum shook her head and the disappointment was clearly visible. "No desserts for a week", she mumbled and walked over to her daugther to look at her and herself in the mirror. "You'll never be more beautiful than right now", she whispered and gave Jennie a kiss on her forehead. "Yes Mum, I know", Jennie answered and turned around then so she wouldn't had to look in the mirror again.
The girl who did her hair just came back with another dress which wasn't as tight as the other one. "This is even better", she gave Jennie a sad smile and helped her to put the new dress on.

"Mum", Jennie tried again. "I saw a photo of Dad and his secre-", but she couldn't speak out the words, her mother shot her a warning glance and put on a huge smile then. "We have guests. I want you to be downstairs in about 5 minutes Jennie."
With those words she turned around and walked out of the room.
"Mum..", Jennie said with a cracking voice. "Why can't she just listen to me for once?!", she asked the stylist girl and snorted annoyed. But the girl only shrugged and looked down on the floor as she left Jennie's room quickly.

"Lisa?! Where are you two?", Jennie yelled into the phone after her best friend picked up. "You're supposed to be here since like 10 minutes" Right now Jennie was totally mad at her two best friends for leaving her hanging after that conversation with her mother. "Sorry Jen..", Lisa sighed. "We're on our way. I had to fix Tae, I'm sorry, we're coming okay?", Jennie could hear their driver saying that it would took like 10 minutes so Jennie sighed relieved.
"Fix Tae? What happened?", she asked. "On drugs?"
"Nah, he's sober. His Dad came home early from their business trip", Lisa explained quickly which was already enough for Jennie to know what happened. "So I can't guarantee how long he's going to be sober today", she added.
"We'll take care of him, I got to go downstairs now. See you there okay?"

"Yeah- bye JenJen"
"Bye Lisa"

After greeting like a hundred people Jennie sat down at the bar and sighed deeply. Her cheeks already hurt from smiling the whole time and her arms hurt from shaking so many hands. "Did you tell your Mum about the photo?", Lisa asked as she filled her glas with some liquid which Jennie didn't even want to know what it was. It smelled like whiskey or something but Tae and Lisa were already at their third glass while Jennie stayed with water.
"I tried but she didn't listen."
Lisa raised an eyebrow questioningly. "Just try it again tomorrow or when she's not in stress because of a party like the one today."
Jennie nodded slowly. To be honest, Jennie was sure that her mother knew. She wouldn't have brushed her off like this if she wouldn't know what Jennie was about to say. But this was even harder to take in, how could her Mum live with this?

"My parents will show up every minute", Taehyung sighed as he kept on watching the doors. Since his Dad was home early from his trip they would come here of course tonight. Parties like this were important for a familie's reputation. They all had to show up and act like perfect harmonizing families.
"Perfect, and you're drunk", Lisa hissed at Tae and took away his glass. "Your Dad will get even more mad!"
"He wouldn't do anything in public", Tae laughed it off and snatched his glass back and drank it down in one sip. "Plus, that fucker can suck my dick."

"Jennie, Darling. I want you to meet some of my new business partners", Jennie's Dad walked to the group and put his arm around his daughter's shoulders. For a moment Jennie just wanted to push his arm away and yell at him how much he hated him for what he was doing in secret. But she couldn't.
So she smiled widely, "Who is it Daddy?", she asked with a lovingly voice.

"This is Mr Jeon and his wife, they are new in our business but they work together with Mr Park on a huge project", he explained and showed her a couple which seemed to be okay. The wife looked pretty but you could see she's already gone through some shit meanwhile her husband looked fine. He was a typical business man but his stare wasn't as cold as the ones of most of the business people. A soft smile was also plastered on his lips.
"They also have a son your age. But he's not into parties so he's not here today, sadly."
Jennie nodded and gave the couple her hand and greeted them nicely.

Some minutes later the Park Family joined the Party as well and Jimin made his way over to Jennie and her friends. "Hey guys", he smiled while he kept looking on his phone because he was clearly texting someone. Taehyung rolled his eyes and just drank the next drink in one sip. "Woah Tae, don't drink so much. You might say things that you rather don't say", Jimin said and slowly put his hand on Tae's shoulder to softly pat it. But Taehyung wasn't in the mood for this so he pushed Jimin's hand away angrily. "Maybe you're the one who should be worried more I say things I shouldn't", he shot back but in the next moment his voice was completely gone and he stared in two eyes which sent him shivers down his spin.
"Hey Mom, Hey Dad", Taehyung said as he realized his parents got here.
His father shot him a death glare before he turned around, smiled and greeted Mr Jeon and his wife and also Jennie's parents. Jimin's parents he simply skipped.

"Holy shit, all of this is so fucked up", Lisa sighed deeply as she went away from the group to look for her own mother. She didn't see her here yet.

And that's how a usual evening in their lives went on.
