Epilogue
A FEW YEARS LATER
"-and the fact that you think it's even possible to-"
"Just shut up, Taehyung! Shut! Up!" Jungkook snapped and then opened the washing machine and stuffed his shirt inside of it, practically hearing the other boy roll his eyes.
"You just can't admit that you're wrong, huh? Not just fucking once?" Taehyung snapped back and Jungkook stood straight, glaring daggers into the other boy's eyes.
"No! I fucking can't! So stop bothering me!" Jungkook irked and Taehyung snickered, walking out of the laundry room.
"I can't believe I have to live with you." Taehyung mumbled and Jungkook dropped the hamper of clothes, storming out of the room as well.
"If you want to leave, then just leave! All you do is spew stupid bullshit out of your mouth! I wish I broke up with you years ago!" Jungkook shouted and Taehyung turned around and stared at him.
"I can't fucking believe this. You're being so childish right now." Taehyung growled, and Jungkook laughed humorlessly.
"I'm the one being childish?!! You're the one that started this stupid argument in the first fucking place!" Jungkook exclaimed angrily and then Taehyung's hands balled up to fists.
He looked at him for a few seconds and then lost it.
"You really fucking think Superman could defeat Goku in a fight?!" Taehyung yelled and Jungkook groaned, grabbing a fistful of a red shirt.
"Superman would fucking laser Goku and he'd fuckin' die, Tae! How in the world would Goku defeat Superman?" Jungkook snapped and Taehyung looked at him in disbelief.
"Goky literally fought the whole universe just to save Earth! And succeeded! And died like seven times! Baby- you are so dumb!" Taehyung said and Jungkook threw his shirt at him.
"Jesus- alright- fine! Goku would win! I hate you." Jungkook huffed and then Taehyung's face softened and grinned fondly, walking over to the boy who was entering the laundry room.
Taehyung pinned the boy against the washing machine, where the hamper was placed. He wrapped his arms around his waist and kissed the back of his neck.
"Sorry. I loveee you. But that debate just pissed me off a little bit." Taehyung whispered and Jungkook rolled his eyes, smiling a little himself.
"A little bit? You called me a little bitch and threw a biscuit at me!" Jungkook scoffed and Taehyung laughed.
"Hey- I wasn't the one who got hit in the face by the hamper. How did we even start discussing this anyway?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook sighed, turning around to face Taehyung.
"I don't know. We were.. talking about.. Uni or something." Jungkook mumbled and Taehyung chuckled and then leaned forward and pressed their lips together.
"I love living with you." Taehyung whispered and Jungkook giggled, wringing his arms around Taehyung's neck.
"Well I don't. The house is always a mess. You don't cook anything. And your stupid kink of wanting to fuck me on every spot in this house always leaves dirty stains everywhere!" Jungkook said and Taehyung poked his tongue out childishly, kissing Jungkook on the cheek.
"Oh come on. It's not just my kink. It's yours too," Taehyung said, winking. Jungkook smacked him on the shoulder.
"Nope. Just yours. I don't have weird kinks, Taehyung." Jungkook mumbled and then walked away from Taehyung's grasp to put the clothes into the washing machine and clean them.
"Mhm.. sure, baby. Remember your 19th birthday? God- you got so drunk.." Taehyung smirked and Jungkook huffed, turning around and smacking his hand.
"Tae! I thought we said we'd never talk about that!" Jungkook blushed and Taehyung grabbed his hands, roughly pushing him against the wall.
"Oh, daddy- spank me daddy, ohhhh fuck daddy make me your slut, daddy-" Taehyung imitated him and Jungkook turned bright red.
"S-shut up, Kim! Don't make me remind you of that one night after your match in Uni," Jungkook said, winking and Taehyung scowled.
"Okay- just because I bottomed that one night doesn't mean I'm going to do it ever again. Plus, you began crying from topping." Taehyung snickered and Jungkook poked his chest.
"Yeahh but I still fucked you~" Jungkook sang and Taehyung scrunched his nose up in anger.
"Remember when I fisted you-"
"Oh my god, Taehyung." Jungkook let out sheepishly and Taehyung began laughing. He then smacked Jungkook's ass before walking out of the room, still laughing.
"I hate you!" Jungkook called out and heard a loud kissing sound.
"Love you too!"
Jungkook rolled his eyes and then finally decided to put everything into the washing machine and finish doing what he intended on doing.
So, yeah. It had been three years. Three long years. Taehyung and Jungkook were both 20, both living in an apartment which was rather small but also rather cozy and they both loved it that way. They both lived in Seoul, attending the university there.
Jungkook was an Art Major- finally ridding himself from his parents' overarching belief of 'STEM = SUCCESS' and doing what he wanted.
Taehyung got a scholarship in that university for Football. Currently he was an Engineering major, with a minor in Sports studies. He was still captain of the football team of their University, which was doing a lot of good for him since he even came in the newspaper for helping their team win.
Jungkook's parents, after a year, got over the 'gay' thing and 'art major' thing and gave him the money he needed (after all, his parents were loaded). Taehyung's dad just thought he lived with a 'friend' near the campus and gave him the money.
That money helps with the college fees and apartment rent, but otherwise, the two had jobs.
Jungkook and Taehyung both worked at an ice cream parlor (No, they didn't sneak off sometimes to make out behind the building. Why would you think that?) and they loved it there. The manager and other people working there were super sweet.
It's needless to say that life was good for Jungkook and Taehyung. Of course, like any other couple, they had hardships. After school ended, both tried their hardest to keep their strings attached and to remain in a happy relationship. It was hard, very very hard.
Jungkook got into an art school in Busan itself which had an excellent course, better than the one in Seoul. But Taehyung only got a scholarship in Seoul, and had to go there. Jungkook decided to go with Taehyung to Seoul. Yes, they had many fights. And at one point, Jungkook was sure they were going to break up and cried for several lonely nights.
But, when Taehyung came up to him and told him he'd drop his scholarship to be with Jungkook and to make him happy, Jungkook realized he was being an idiot. He jumped into Taehyung's arms and kissed him until he got tears in his eyes and told Taehyung his scholarship was more important than his choice of art school.
Yeah, sacrifices have to be made. Taehyung made compromises too- of course he did. You need compromise for every good relationship to work.
"Taehyung- you fucking nitwit, where's my scarf that you borrowed that day? You dropped ketchup on it and I wanted to clean it up-" Jungkook said and Taehyung sighed, looking at him from the sofa.
"It's in the closet, babe. Like me," Taehyung said, giving him a big exaggerated wink, making Jungkook roll his eyes.
"You're literally the gayest guy on campus." Jungkook mumbled, and Taehyung laughed, calling out a true.
Jungkook walked to their bedroom, seeing it messed up with their bedsheets strewn around and desk messy with sketch pens laying all over it. Jungkook walked to their big closet and opened it, trying to look for the scarf. He looked in every little drawer and then groaned when he didn't find it.
Finally, he opened Taehyung's underwear drawer, wondering if it was in there. When he opened it, he saw a little blue velvet box sitting under some of the underwear.
Jungkook's eyebrows furrowed as he lifted it up. He opened it and then let out a gasp.
It was a ring. A diamond ring. A diamond engagement ring. A diamond engagement ring classifying two people being wed. Being wed. Being married. OH my god.
Jungkook closed the box shut and put it back into the drawer, closing it shut and standing up. Jungkook's eyes were still widened, mouth still open. Oh. My. GOD.
Taehyung had a diamond ring in his drawer. Why did he have a diamond ring in his drawer? Was he- oh my GOD was he going to propose????
Jungkook let out a big squeal of excitement accidentally, collapsing onto the bed.
"Everything okay babe?" Taehyung called out from the living room and Jungkook cleared his throat.
"Y-yeah- it's- um. Fine. It's okay!! Jungkook stammered and then rushed to take his phone out, his heart pacing heavily.
Oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god-
Jungkook shakily opened his phone and went onto contacts and clicked onto the second contact in his favourites list. The phone rung for a few seconds, and then- "Sup."
"Jimin- o-oh my god-" Jungkook squeaked out and then probably assumed Jimin raised his eyebrow, raking his (now blonde) hair back.
"Woah, everything alright?" Jimin asked, chuckling slightly.
Jungkook squealed into the phone, hiding into the bed, making sure he wasn't too loud.
"J-Jimin- I'm getting married!" Jungkook squeaked out, and heard a gasp.
"OH MY GOD??!?!? What??!?!!? OH my GODDD !!! He finally asked??" Jimin asked and then before Jungkook could respond, he heard some distanced yelling.
"Yo- guys! Jungkook and Taehyung are getting married!" Jimin yelled, away from his phone. Jungkook giggled, trying to tell him the real thing- before he heard a gasp of another voice from the phone.
"What?!! When? I mean, finally- jesus. But what?!" Yoongi said through the phone, which Jungkook now assumed was on speaker mode.
"Guys- okay, like, he hasn't asked yet. But I saw the ring in his drawer!" Jungkook squealed and then heard another squeal from the other side.
"Was it big?" Jimin asked.
"That's what she said-" Jungkook heard another voice say.
"Shut up, Hobi!"
"Oh come on-"
"Guys! Shut up! Yes, it was really big!! No wonder he's been saving up so much money recently! Y-you guys, I'm so fucking excited I'm going to scream!! EEEeeee!!!!" Jungkook squealed loudly, and then heard a clearing of throat.
"Kook?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook turned around with wide eyes, seeing Taehyung standing by the door. Jungkook took his phone and quickly ended the call, chucking the phone onto the bed.
(Quick mention at this point. Jimin, Yoongi, and Hoseok went to another university in Seoul. They lived together in a big apartment, and came over quite often. It was safe to say they were still close.)
"Hi." Jungkook squeaked softly and saw Taehyung look a little confused.
"Why.. were you squealing?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook crawled over the bed, seeing Taehyung walk closer.
"Just.. talking to Jimin. Y'know, gossiping. That's all." Jungkook said quickly and Taehyung chuckled.
Before Taehyung could get another word out, Jungkook got up and wrapped his arms around Taehyung. Taehyung let out a breathless oof, being hugged very tightly. He wrapped his arms around Jungkook's waist, seemingly confused.
Jungkook hummed into his neck and then jumped up, wrapping his legs around the boy's waist.
"Woah, Kook-" Taehyung let out and then fell onto the bed, Jungkook still clutching onto him, hugging him tightly.
Taehyung snickered. "What's wrong, baby?" Taehyung asked, trying to sit up, Jungkook on his lap.
Jungkook pulled away from the hug, looking at Taehyung with a small smile on his face. Jungkook brushed off the dark-blonde bangs off Taehyung's eyes.
"Nothing." Jungkook said, shaking his head. "Just love you a lot." Jungkook whispered and Taehyung smiled softly, cheeks tinting a little.
"Aw. Aren't you being cute." Taehyung said, pressing a little kiss to the boy's chin. Jungkook giggled, pressing their foreheads together.
"I'm always cute." Jungkook said and then heard a soft sigh.
"True." Taehyung said and Jungkook smiled at him.
Oh god- now Jungkook just had to wait until Taehyung popped the question...
*
Okay, Jungkook was getting kinda annoyed now.
It had been about three weeks since he found the ring in Taehyung's drawer. And he would be lying if he said he wasn't getting just a tad bit impatient.
Every time they went out. Every time they were being romantic. Hell, every time Taehyung even looked at him with that special dazzle in his eyes, Jungkook's heart skipped a beat, waiting for him to get down on one knee.
And- oh my god- one time, when they were both walking back from Uni while the sun was going down, Taehyung clutched Jungkook's hand and then got down on his knee and Jungkook almost began crying- but then Taehyung proceeded to say-
"Sorry, just need to tie my shoe-"
(Jungkook stormed off.)
"Alright baby, I'm gonna go meet the coach for the game next week. I'll be back in an hour or two." Taehyung said and Jungkook just hummed.
"Okay. See you." He said and Taehyung scowled and walked up to the boy who was cutting some vegetables on the kitchen counter.
Taehyung went up to him and wrapped his arms around his waist, kissing his neck. "What's wrong?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook didn't respond, just continued cutting the vegetables.
"Did I not fuck you well last night?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook cut into the carrot a little harshly.
"No. You did. I'm not mad." Jungkook said monotonously, so Taehyung just sighed and placed his chin on Jungkook's shoulder.
"Is this because of what happened on Saturday? When I got kinda drunk and told you you'd look good walking around in nothing but an apron?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook snickered.
"No- you said I'd look good in nothing but an apron- or a maids outfit." Jungkook snapped and Taehyung pouted.
"Sorry. That was a sexist remark. I wasn't trying to objectify you, baby." Taehyung said softly and Jungkook just sighed softly.
"That's not why I'm mad, Taehyung. I'm not even mad. Just- go. The coach'll get mad at you." Jungkook said and Taehyung placed a kiss on his neck.
He squeezed Jungkook's hips and then raked his hands up Jungkook's shirt, feeling up his waist- which was still tiny and gripped onto it, still kissing Jungkook's neck.
"Tae-" Jungkook started, but then let his head roll back a little, whimpering when Taehyung sucked softly on that one spot which really set him going.
"I'm gonna come back and then I'll fuck you real good, yeah? Any way you want. I'll eat your little ass out and then fuck your pink little hole with my fingers and then fuck you. Make sure your mood gets all lifted up." Taehyung whispered and Jungkook rolled his hips back a little, letting out a soft whine.
"O-okay," Jungkook let out and then felt Taehyung leave his grip on his waist and move away from him. Jungkook felt Taehyung's hand smack his ass.
"Alright. See you later, bunny." Taehyung called out, before grabbing his car keys and walking out of the house, closing the door behind him.
Jungkook let out a soft sigh, already feeling a little horny because of Taehyung's words. Everytime they got dirty like this, it reminded Jungkook of when he was only 17- looking forward to getting railed by the hot football captain.
Who now was going to be his husband.
Jungkook smiled. Oh, well it'll happen someday, right? Maybe now, maybe next week, maybe next year, even. But either way, he still gets to have his Taehyungie.
*
Taehyung walked out their house, closing the door behind him. He walked downstairs, where his UBER was waiting for him. He got into the backseat of the car, plush seat against his back.
"Destination?" The driver asked and Taehyung bit the inside of his cheek.
"Bluedale Corporate, 23rd street." Taehyung said and the driver nodded.
He drove for a good twenty minutes or so, until Taehyung reached the big glass building that was tall and skinny, matching with the other corporations and firms beside it, fitted into big glass buildings. Taehyung paid the driver and then got out of the car, phone clutched tightly in his hand.
He walked into the building, seeing men and women dressed up in suits. He walked past the reception and towards the lift, to which he went to the 35th floor. Once he reached it, the elevator doors opened and he walked out, men and women in a rush walking past him, in a frenzy, holding papers and laptops.
Taehyung walked past them and to the woman sitting behind a lobby desk in the side.
"Hi. I'm here to-" Taehyung started and the woman smiled a little.
"You're Kim Taehyung, right?" She asked and Taehyung nodded.
"Come with me." The woman said and then got up and began walking to the other side of the floor. Taehyung just followed her.
They walked past many doors and Taehyung could feel how much he was standing out, in skinny jeans and a faded grey shirt. Finally, they reached a big wooden door.
"He's inside. He knows you're here, though." The woman said and Taehyung just nodded. He reached for the door, opening it slightly.
He saw the man sitting behind the desk, hair more grey now, bags under his eyes deeper. Still looked polished, a glass of whiskey beside him, typing away at a laptop. The man looked up, but did not smile.
"Taehyung. Come in." He said and Taehyung did, closing the door behind him. He didn't expect any sort of rejoicement at seeing him, nor did he feel any.
"I haven't seen you for-"
"Three years. You saw me at my graduation." Taehyung said and the man chuckled.
"Indeed, I did. So, how's college? Some of the best years of one's life." The man said and Taehyung leaned back into the chair.
"It's good. Just, getting by." Taehyung said and the man looked at him finally, tearing his eyes away from his laptop.
"I saw you on the newspaper. Said you were a prodigy at football. Good job." The man said and Taehyung snickered, sitting up.
"And.. you didn't call me? Or, even try to check up on me? For three whole years? I had to email you saying I got into a university and got an email back from your assistant." Taehyung said and the man suddenly looked at Taehyung with a stern look.
"Taehyung-"
"You're my father. I don't expect you to act like one, you never did. I just came here to inform you about something." Taehyung said and his father looked at him from dulled brown eyes.
"What is it?"
Taehyung took a deep breathe, drumming his fingers against the wooden desk. "I'm going to get engaged. Well, when I do ask, that is." Taehyung said and his fathers eyebrows rose a little.
"Well, I'm pleased to hear that, son. Who is she?" His father asked and Taehyung's breath hitched. He took a deep breath, and then exhaled sharply.
"Before I tell you- I'm not here to ask for your permission or anything. I just realized I should at least make the effort you failed to put into finding out about your son's life." Taehyung said and then sat up, raking his hand through his hair.
His father didn't look angry, just a little upset. Almost a little guilty, but Taehyung didn't look into that.
"It's not a she." Taehyung said and then saw his father frown. "It's a boy. I've..I've been with him for more than three years now, and-and I want to marry him. He-"
"What?" His father voices, his words low and full of shock, anger, confusion.
"I said, it's a boy. My boyfriend. Soon-to-be husband. If- or when he says yes." Taehyung said and then saw his father snicker and stand up.
"Are you out of your mind? You're with a faggot?" His father snapped and Taehyung snickered, picking at his fingernails.
"I'm the faggot too, father." Taehyung said, smirking lightly.
He saw his father have an angry expression on his face, but before he could say anything, Taehyung slammed his hand onto the table, asserting his dominance.
"Before you say anything- just know that I am not, in any way, asking for your permission. I love him, and I have for three years, and I will for as long as I can. You don't have to come to the wedding, nor do you have to meet our children- if we have any. But just know that your son is happy- even if you're not."
Taehyung stood up, turning around and walking towards the door.
"Your mother would be disappointed." His father stated and Taehyung froze. He felt his mind cluttering, every wave of his past few years washing over him. Taehyung just got a sly smirk on his face, reaching for the door.
"Don't think it's me she'd be disappointed of, father. I may be queer but at least I'm not a coward. Hiding from everyone and everything, neglecting his own son. I think she'd be rather proud of me. For not letting my own demons consume me." Taehyung said and then opened the door.
"Goodbye."
And with that, Taehyung walked out, letting the door close behind him with a thud. He walked towards the lift, a smirk on his face, feeling more treacherous than he ever had.
(Oh and by the way? When Taehyung went back home, Jungkook was in nothing but an apron.)
*
A WEEK LATER
"Wow. I really spent five years in here, huh?" Taehyung snickered to himself and Jungkook giggled, reaching forward and grabbing his hand.
"I spent four. Sucks to be you." Jungkook said and Taehyung giggled as well, pinching his side.
The two of them stood outside the gates of their enormous boarding school that they lived in and studied in for years. It was rather surreal, seeing it like this, after they graduated and moved out. It felt rather nostalgic.
"Tae, the reunion dinner doesn't start for another hour. We're way too early. I told you we could've left much later, babe." Jungkook sighed and Taehyung squeezed his hand.
"I know, dumpling. But let's just walk around a little. I miss this place." Taehyung sighed and Jungkook turned to him.
"What did you just call me?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung chuckled.
"I dunno, Kooks. I have way too many nicknames for you." Taehyung sighed and Jungkook giggled.
"That's why I just stick with one, daddy." Jungkook whispered and Taehyung patted his bum, as if warning him not to say too much right now.
They both walked through the gates, stepping into the walkway leading towards the dorms. Jungkook smiled a little.
"God, remember those dorms. Looking back at it, those beds were so uncomfortable." Jungkook said.
"I know right. And no closet space." Taehyung mumbled, as they kept walking hand in hand.
"That was probably just for you. Y'know, 'cause you were hiding in there for like three years." Jungkook said and got a playful glare by Taehyung, to which he laughed.
"Shut it. Remember when you moved in with me? And we got all those complains from Jin and Namjoon next door." Taehyung said and Jungkook giggled.
"Yeah- they got mad at us for yelling too loudly while watching football games." Jungkook said and then looked at Taehyung.
"But yeah, I remember moving in with you. Jimin cried for a whole two days, but then he was totally fine and had a great time rooming with Hoseok and Yoongi." Jungkook snickered.
"Yeah, way too much of a good time. Jesus. Have you been to their house? A whole fuckin' mess. There's condoms everywhere and the fridge has no food." Taehyung said and Jungkook laughed.
They both kept walking, until Jungkook saw the field and then gasped and grabbed Taehyung's hand and dragged him into the field. "Oh my god! I miss this field so much! It's so much more authentic. The one in Uni is all fake grass." Jungkook said, and Taehyung ran up with him.
"Wow, I used to love it here. I could play football with no pressure. Remember- that's where I made that awesome goal and the coach made me captain." Taehyung said, pointing at one spot.
Jungkook grabbed Taehyung's hand. "That's where you called me a cocksucker and we almost fought- but then the coach sent us off to do that lap and you fucked me in the storage closet. Remember?" Jungkook said and Taehyung laughed.
"And-and that's where me, you and Jimin was playing that one time, and-and the ball deflated and it went flying up." Taehyung said, and Jungkook started laughing with him, remembering the fond memory.
"God- we were so small. It was fun, though. Sneaking off into janitor closets and to your dorm to make out so no one would find us." Jungkook said and Taehyung smiled.
"Yeah.. remember that one time I was fucking you in the shower of the locker room and Jackson walked in? And I had to convince him that I had a girl with me and that he had to go? God- he laughed so hard." Taehyung said and Jungkook giggled.
"Yeah, I remember that. Scary as fuck. Come on, let's go check out the locker room. I miss that bitch." Jungkook said and Taehyung let Jungkook drag him towards the locker room.
They both entered through the door that used to be red but now was blue. The colours were all changed, making things a little weird. Taehyung let out a chuckle.
"We fucked at this exact spot for the first time." Taehyung said, walking over to the center, in between the two benches. Jungkook grimaced.
"Why the hell did we fuck on the floor? That was so unhygienic, god-" Jungkook said, shuddering in thought.
"You're acting as if I didn't fuck you on the floor of the locker room back at Uni," Taehyung said and Jungkook poked his tongue at him, both giggling.
Jungkook pointed at one of the lockers. "I used to stand right there and peek at your abs since, like, the first football practice." Jungkook said and Taehyung gasped.
"Really? I did that too! I used to check out your ass all the time. I also fucked you against that locker, remember?" Taehyung said and Jungkook just sighed.
"We had sex a lot back then, huh?" Jungkook said and Taehyung nodded.
"We were like horny rabbits. Now we're like a... classy old couple who only fucks on weekends after supper." Taehyung said, all posh and Jungkook giggled into his hand and pushed his shoulder.
"Oh shut up. We haven't gotten any less horny. If anything, we're way more kinky now than before." Jungkook said and Taehyung walked closer to him.
"Well, duh. I didn't even know I could shove my whole fist up your ass when I was 18." Taehyung said and Jungkook turned bright red.
"Taehyung!" Jungkook stammered bashfully, feeling Taehyung wrap his arms around him, giggling childishly. "It was one time!"
"I know. But it was fun, y'know. We could totally do it again." Taehyung said, raising his eyebrows suggestively.
"Fuck no. Your hands are big. I'm never doing that shit again." Jungkook snickered and then they opened the door and both walked out of the room.
They both joined their hands again, walking down the pathway of the locker room, towards the school building.
"That's where we had that fight and you kissed me." Jungkook said and Taehyung pursed his lips.
"And then the next day I asked that bitch out. What was her name? Echo?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook gave him an amused grin.
"Eka. And yeah.. I cried, for like, three days. Anyways- remember in the sports hall? When you got up in front of everyone and yelled 'I'm gay!'. That was fun." Jungkook sighed and Taehyung grinned.
"That.. was not really what I said, but close. Oh my god- remember our trip to Seoul? For that championship? That's in my top five of best sex I've ever had." Taehyung said and Jungkook gasped.
"What? Why?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung looked at him.
"You were being all dominant and shit- and then let me fuck you. Kook, I don't know if you realized- I was really desperate. Christ- I used to be so annoying and horny. Why did you like me?"
"Dude I have no clue. What's on number one in your list of best sex?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung gave him a smug smirk.
"That time I fisted you-"
"Oh my god, Taehyung!" Jungkook exclaimed and then rushed after him, seeing him run towards the school building, laughing loudly.
Jungkook caught up with him and then grabbed him from the side and heard him laugh, pushing him and both grabbing each other's hands, giggling.
"Come on- let-let's go into the school building." Taehyung said and Jungkook nodded. They walked into the building, and then Jungkook squeezed Taehyung's hand.
"Tae- let's go to that art room we used to go to? Remember that? It's where we used to go all the time." Jungkook said and Taehyung chuckled fondly.
"Of course I remember that, baby. Yeah, let's go there." Taehyung said and then both of them walked up the stairs of the school, until they reached the top floor.
Once they did, they walked till they found the small art room. They both stepped inside, and Jungkook instantly smiled.
"I love this place, it's just the same." Jungkook breathed out, entering the room, his back to Taehyung.
"I can still see the stars perfectly from here. Ooh- look, there's that painting I did that my teacher hung on the wall. Can't believe it's still there! And-and- I remember coming here after you finally asked me to be your boyfriend, and we-"
Jungkook turned around and then his eyes widened.
There Taehyung was, on one knee, looking up at Jungkook. Jungkook's breath hitched in his throat and he felt his heart pace increase. Taehyung reached forward, taking Jungkook's hand in his, smiling a little.
"I do remember this place." Taehyung whispered and Jungkook's eyes were still wide. "This is gonna sound cheesy- but truly. I love this place. I remember- um one time, we came in here, after dinner. We were gonna go have sex or something, but instead we came here and.. you showed me all your artwork. And you were giggling and you looked so beautiful in the moonlight, my baby." Taehyung said and Jungkook blushed, letting out a small smile.
"T-Tae-" Jungkook started, but his words got lost in Taehyung's beautiful eyes.
"It's where I fell in love with you. Where I broke your heart. Where you broke mine. Where we both healed each other's. Where I realized.. you are the best goddamn thing to have ever happened to me." Taehyung said and Jungkook could not contain his smile anymore.
"You make me a better version of myself, times ten. Every time I feel even a little upset, I just picture you smiling and it lifts me up. You lift me up, baby. You make me so happy- no one could ever make me as happy as you do. You made me realize a lot of things over time.. but one thing is for sure." Taehyung said and Jungkook felt his heart pace increase, knowing what was coming.
"Jungkook, baby," Taehyung let out and Jungkook inhaled sharply, biting down onto his lip. "I love-"
"Yes!" Jungkook squealed out, before Taehyung had a chance to finish his sentence. "Yes! I-I will!"
There was a bit of a silence. Jungkook opened his eyes and then saw Taehyung looked at him blankly.
"W..what?"
Jungkook felt his heart drop. "What do you mean..what? You-you were going to ask me-"
"I was just.. professing my love, baby. Just telling you how much I love you. What.. did you think?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook paused.
He tore his hand back, scowling. "I already know you love me, dumbhead! Why-why did you have to get down on your knee to do that?!" Jungkook snapped and Taehyung raised his eyebrows.
"Woah, babe- I was just trying to be poetic-"
"Well it was! But-but-" Jungkook started, feeling his hopes dropping.
"But what?"
"But I thought you were going to propose!" Jungkook whined and Taehyung's eyes widened. "A-and- I-I thought you wanted to marry me!"
Taehyung saw little tears well up in Jungkook's doe eyes and stood up in a rush. "Do-don't you wanna m-marry me? W-why did you get that ring, then? W-w-was it j-just a joke?" Jungkook squeaked out, vision blurring.
Taehyung stepped closer to him, wiping his tears with the pads of his thumbs.
"Oh my gosh, baby. Don't cry! Come on- I.. Kook.. I know you saw the ring.. I.. was just playing a dumb joke. I wasgoing to propose. In like, two minutes. I didn't think you'd start crying!" Taehyung said and Jungkook felt foolish, now.
His cheeks burned and he wiped his eyes quickly. "O-oh. I'm sorry, I just- I-I really wanna marry you. That's all." Jungkook whispered, and Taehyung smiled softly.
"Is that right, baby?" Taehyung said and then he grabbed Jungkook's hand and got down on one knee. "Because-"
Before Taehyung went on, he winced and then got up quickly. "Fuck- sorry, that's my knee with the big bruise on it." Taehyung mumbled and then grabbed his knee in pain, rubbing it slightly.
Jungkook rolled his eyes, giggling fondly. "Taehyung you- you're so dumb! Come on, just do it already! I'm getting a lil' impatient here." Jungkook said and then Taehyung rolled his eyes playfully and got down on his other knee.
"My baby. My sunshine. My angel. My moonlight. My pumpkin. My dumpling. My bunny kitten puppy baby-"
"Taehyung!" Jungkook snapped, a big smile on his face because oh my god he was so in love.
"Okay-okay- now I'm serious. Ahem." Taehyung said, clearing his throat, looking down and then looking up at Jungkook with a serious gaze, smoldering, handsome.
"I want to love you till the ends of time. I want to make sure you'll always be mine, I- wait, holy shit- I just rhymed. Woahhhh spitting bars in here-"
"Taehyung, I swear to god. You're so bad at this- should I just propose instead?" Jungkook asked and then giggled when Taehyung shook his head.
"No, no, I wanna do this. Okay. Jeon Jungkook. You are not only my boyfriend but you're also my best friend. And, I know that ten years down the line, heck- twenty years down the line. We might have children and we'll be old and we'll have our jobs- and everything will be different. But you and I, baby? We'll remain the same. We'll still play Mario Kart every Sunday night. We'll still play FIFA and I'll still beat you-"
"Okay, don't get so cocky. I'm pretty good too." Jungkook interjected and Taehyung scoffed.
"Are you kidding, Kook? I beat you the last three times,"
"Um- the last time we played, you cheated completely and-"
"No, you threw the whole game off because you-" Taehyung suddenly stopped and Jungkook did as well. They both looked at each other and began giggling. "We're idiots."
"We really are." Jungkook sighed softly and then got down onto his knees in front of Taehyung.
"But we're idiots in love. Idiots who want to spend the rest of their lives together. And me? I'm the biggest idiot." Taehyung said, seeing how Jungkook smiled and held his hands.
"An idiot who wants to wake up beside you every morning and hear you sing in the shower every night and call you my baby and grow old together. I want you to be mine forever. Dude- I just rhymed again!"
"You should become a rapper," Jungkook said and Taehyung moved closer to him, placing his hands on his waist.
"Maybe I will. After our wedding." Taehyung whispered and Jungkook smiled widely.
"Oh, we're engaged, are we?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung tilted his head.
"Oh.. did I not ask you already?" Taehyung trailed and then smiled when Jungkook started giggling, shaking his head.
"Well, shit. Here it goes." Taehyung whispered and Jungkook felt his toes curl as Taehyung reached for his back pocket and then took out a blue velvet box.
Taehyung opened it slowly and Jungkook felt himself melt inside, butterflies he had since he was 17 still growing and fluttering in his insides, more so now than ever.
"Jeon Jungkook. Will you marry me?" Jungkook smiled, reaching his hand forward, slight tears grazing in his eyes. "Yes! A-a thousand times-" Jungkook said and Taehyung smiled widely as well, sliding the diamond ring, which was big by the way, onto his fourth finger.
Jungkook leaned forward, cupping his cheeks and pressing their lips together. Taehyung gripped his hips tightly, kissing him back with full force. Jungkook tilted his head, kissing him harder than he ever had, with more love, and conviction, and convention, and conception.
Jungkook pulled away, breathing lightly. "I love you. So fucking much."
"I love you too. I love you s-so much, Kook. I.. I know I was joking and stuff- b-but I was scared you wouldn't say yes and-"
"Why on earth would I not want to marry the most handsome man on this planet?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung grinned.
"You're marrying yourself?" Taehyung gasped and Jungkook smacked him, laughing.
Jungkook felt Taehyung wrap his arms around him, now Jungkook straddled on his lap, hands around his neck, Taehyung's around his waist. They were on the floor, yes- but that's where the most magical things seemed to start, anyway.
"I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." Taehyung whispered and Jungkook smiled.
"The rest of my life and more." Jungkook said and Taehyung smiled, both their foreheads pressed together, noses brushing against each others.
Yeah, they weren't perfect. No one is, really. They fought, and sometimes they threw things at each other , and sometimes they slept in different rooms, and sometimes they didn't talk for a whole day.
But that didn't compensate for the things that did make them all that closer to being perfect. Like how Taehyung practically burnt the whole kitchen down once trying to make Jungkook soup when he was sick. Or how they always eat breakfast together and giggle about their day. Or how they sometimes fell asleep in their balcony, looking at the stars, each other in their arms.
They weren't perfect. But Jungkook doesn't think he wants them to be. Perfection is menacing. Filled with false hope and misguided trust. Their definition of perfection was a little different.
Jungkook things perfect is when Taehyung laughs so hard he falls on the floor and clutches his stomach, his eyes in crescents and aura of mirth flaring from his skin. Jungkook thinks perfect is when Taehyung calls him his baby and spends hours just sitting with Jungkook, watching him paint.
Taehyung thinks perfect is when he comes back home late at night from football practice and sees Jungkook still up. Taehyung thinks perfect is when Jungkook walks around their house in nothing but Taehyung's jersey and has that adorable smile on his face, giggling about something that happened in the art room that day.
For them, perfect is right now, in a little room which sounds and pictures which show the essence of their love, gazing into each others eyes, giggling about something that'll seem stupid in a few minutes. That's perfect.
So, yeah, maybe their definition of perfect is a bit different. But to them, it's home. It's their home.
Everything was different now. Different and so so much better. A once set belief that they were just two 'straight' dudes, two 'friends', two innocent (and horny) boys just trying to gain pleasure. All crushed in an instant. A once set belief that they were never meant to be, they were hopeless, just meant to be fuckbuddies. Never once right.
Jungkook and Taehyung were meant to be. They were. They were best friends, lovers, boyfriends, husbands. So, so, so much more than just fuckbuddies. They were... soulmates.
