Chapter 7
There was nothing worse than visiting day.
Sure, some people loved having their parents come to visit them. Those were some who actually had good parents.
Jungkook didn't.
He doesn't remember one birthday he celebrated with them. Doesn't remember them ever acknowledging anything he loves or does. They were always on business trips and only talked to him about studies.
So yeah, he wasn't excited about visiting day.
He was dressed in skinny jeans and a simple white t-shirt, standing in the food hall, where everyone was with their parents. There was good food, so Jungkook's thankful for that. Jimin was with his parents and brother, all smiles. His parents seemed great and he seemed to get along quite well with his brother.
Jungkook was an only child. Figures.
When he was 13, his parents came into his bedroom and said sweetie, we're sending you to boarding school. It'll be better for your studies and for us since we are never around.
Jungkook was thrilled. Never been happier. He packed in a day.
He went back home during holidays, of course. But they were either doing work or at parties and Jungkook was fine with it. It felt good to be alone, it got kind of annoying to constantly be around teenagers. After all, back home he lived in a huge house with an indoor pool, a basketball court, a home cinema and a lot more. So, he was fine.
Of course- why his parents felt the need to come visit him today, he had no clue. He was waiting, hoping they wouldn't show up.
"Hey. Parents not here?" A voice piped and Jungkook turned from where he was leaning against the wall to find V. He was dressed in a sweatshirt and black jeans, holding a cup of orange juice or whatever in his hand.
"They should be. Soon. Tell me when you spot a man and a woman dressed in overly expensive clothes looking disinterested, 'cause that'll be my parents." Jungkook mumbled and V snickered.
"Not excited, huh?" V asked and Jungkook shook his head.
Before he could ask V where his parents were, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He got a text from his dad, saying he's at the entrance of the food hall.
"They're here. See you later?" Jungkook asked, giving him a knowing look.
"Sure." V said smiling and Jungkook returned his smile and then walked off to go find his parents. V seemed more solemn today, which was new.
Jungkook instantly spotted his mother, her hair in a high bun with round sunglasses perched on her nose and a leopard print coat. His father was beside her, in a trench coat and tie. He didn't know why they had to dress like that to come to a fucking school, but okay.
"Jungkookie!" Jungkook's mother gasped when she saw him and Jungkook smiled awkwardly when she pulled him in for a tight hug. His father, just, kind of, shook his hand.
"Hello mom, dad. Um- let's just find a table." Jungkook mumbled and then took them to an empty table on the side. They sat down and his mother sighed.
"So, how's everything? Your roommate? Jimmy?" His mother started and Jungkook sighed.
"Jimin. Yeah, he's fine. Everything's going normally." Jungkook said briefly and his mother smiled.
God, they were embarrassing. Jimin's mother was so nice to Jungkook, even baked him cookies every time she came to visit Jimin because of the one time he said he really liked them. And Jungkook's mother couldn't even remember his name.
"How's classes going? Has your grade picked up in Maths and Economics?" His father asked and Jungkook nodded.
"Yes. Um, yeah. I got an A in math and B plus in Economics, so-"
"B plus?" His father snapped and Jungkook gulped nervously.
"Y-yeah, but-but I can get my grade up with, um, extra credit stuff." Jungkook said quickly and his father sighed, clearly discontent with Jungkook's grade.
"Also I got an A plus in Art. My teacher said I'm really good and she even thinks I should consider it for my future-"
"Considering art as a choice in the future? Have you lost your mind?" Mr. Jeon snapped, making Jungkook tense.
"She said that because I-I won an award for-for one of my art pieces and i-it was in the-the newspaper here, too-" Jungkook said, but his father looked disinterested.
"How's football?" His father cut him off and Jungkook felt himself crumble internally.
"Good. We won the last few games we played." Jungkook mumbled softly, his nails digging into his palm, trying not to burst out in anger or tears.
"That's good to know." Mr. Jeon said. Jungkook nodded a little. "Seriously, son. Stay focused on thinngs that are actually going to help you. Like math, economics, sciences, football- those things will get you into a good university. Not things like... like, art and- don't tell me you're still singing or dancing?" His father grimaced.
"N-no." Jungkook said quietly, remembering very clearly how he came here and his father forced him to join the football team and not the dance club or choir. It's not like he doesn't like football, it's just that he'd prefer to do other things. But he can't say that out loud.
His mother seemed to sense the tension, so she smiled. "Sweetie, why don't you show us your dorm? We've never seen it?"
Jungkook sighed and nodded, standing up and walking them out of the food hall. They mindlessly talked about some business thing while Jungkook led them to his dorm.
Jungkook was upset. Really upset. They always did this and then pretended like they were open-minded, liberal parents to seem like angels in front of their business partners and other CEO's.
Jungkook was really really upset. Another perk that came with being upset was being impulsive. Doing something without thinking it through. Taking an action without thinking of its consequences.
See, 'cause Jungkook was walking - his parents behind him - and then he saw V walk out of his dorm, looking at his phone. He was alone. No one else was around them. V looked up and saw him and gave him an amused look.
Jungkook felt impulsive. He felt angry. He wanted to spit in his parent's face- show them how they knew nothing about their son.
"Mom, Dad, I wanted you to meet someone." Jungkook said suddenly. He rushed over to V and grabbed his arm, dragging him over to his parents.
His parents smiled. "Is this Jimin?" Mrs. Jeon asked and Jungkook almost cursed.
"No, mom. This is V. He's the captain of our football team." Jungkook said and then looked at V- who looked utterly confused. They're not exactly that close, so he had no clue why Jungkook was introducing him like this.
"Oh, wow. It's nice to see Jungkook has some good friends." Mr. Jeon said and then Jungkook smiled- almost a glint of evil shining in his smile- and locked his arm around V's arm.
"It's nice to meet you." V said, not knowing what else to say, giving Jungkook a puzzled look.
"No, dad." Jungkook said, his heart thumping in his chest. "V's not my friend. He's my boyfriend."
V's eyes widened and so did his dad's and his mom's.
"W-what?" Mr. Jeon said and Mrs. Jeon just paled.
"Yeah. Aren't you, babe?" Jungkook said, nudging V's side rather harshly. V gulped.
"Um.. y-yeah." V stammered and Jungkook pulled V in by the collar and pecked him on the lips, hearing a gasp leaving his mother's mouth.
Jungkook turned to his parents and smiled. "I'm gay."
To say his parents looked shocked, was an understatement. V nodded, trying to play along, but inwardly he had the same look as Jungkook's parents.
"How.. how.. w-why.. when... what?!" Mrs. Jeon snapped and Jungkook smiled again.
"I'm gay. Really gay. Just thought you guys should know. But, don't worry dad. I'm still focusing on studies. Me and V have a lot of study sessions together, don't we babe?" Jungkook said, his voice sickly sweet as he nudged V's side.
"Y-yes. Yes we do." V croaked and Jungkook leaned over and kissed his cheek.
"I-I think I need to lie down." Jungkook's mother breathed out and she turned around holding her head in her hands.
"Son, you- Your mother seems unwell, we should probably go. We'll visit you next time." Mr. Jeon stammered and then he and Mrs. Jeon walked speedily out of the building.
Jungkook sighed when they were away from them and let go of V's arm.
"What... the fuck-"
"I-I know.. Can-can we just talk in your room. Please?" Jungkook squeaked out and V sighed and walked towards his room, walking in and slamming the door.
"Jungkook-"
Jungkook grabbed V's shoulders and pressed their lips together. V grabbed Jungkook's waist to slow him down a bit, but Jungkook continued kissing him, roughly. He pushed V on his bed and climbed on top of him, pushing his shoes off as he straddled him.
"Kook, wait-"
Jungkook didn't let him talk and began kissing his neck and his chin and mouth, gripping his sweatshirt tightly. Jungkook started grinding their hips together harshly.
"I- please. Need you. P-please." Jungkook whimpered, unbuttoning V's jeans as quickly as he could.
"Jungkook, stop." V snapped, grabbing both of Jungkook's hands. V was so confused with everything that just happened and he expected answers, not for Jungkook to act like this.
Jungkook looked up at him and V's eyes widened when he saw tears in his pretty brown eyes.
"S-sorry, I just-" Jungkook stammered and then let out a soft sigh and wiped at the corner of his eyes.
"Fuck, I-I don't even know why I'm crying. Sorry." Jungkook cursed, chuckling softly to pretend like he was okay. V suddenly pulled him closer in so he was sitting on his lap completely and wrapped his arms around his waist.
"Oh, baby, what's wrong?" V asked softly and that caused Jungkook to sniffle and tears to start pouring out of his eyes.
"N-n-nothing." Jungkook sniffled, his face reddening as tears continued rushing down his face. He buried his face in the crevice of V's neck.
"It's alright to cry. Let it out, it's okay." V whispered, running his hand down Jungkook's back, soothing him.
"God, I'm such a pussy." Jungkook mumbled after a bit, taking a tissue and wiping his eyes and nose, sniffling.
"No, you're not." V snickered and Jungkook licked his dry lips, the tip of his nose cold.
He looked at V slowly and sighed. "I'm sorry."
"What for?"
"All that. Pretending like you're my boyfriend so my-my parents would just back off me. Even kissing you in front of them, a-and even making a reference to us having sex. God, I'm so stupid." Jungkook whined, hiding his face with his hands. V laughed, grabbing Jungkook's hands and lowering them.
"Why'd you do that, though?" V asked and Jungkook sighed.
"I-I don't know. I just wanted them to know- I wanted them to know how they know nothing about me. They-they keep pretending like they're good parents but they're not and I needed them to know that. Even though I'm in a boarding school, I can't do anything I actually want to. Guess I just wanted to show them that.. that I can still do stuff." Jungkook croaked out.
"What do you mean stuff you actually want to do?" V asked. Jungkook looked a little timid.
"Like.. um.. I-I really like art. And-and singing. And I've wanted to join the-the dancing club for ages, b-but.." Jungkook stammered and V looked confused.
"Wait, really? You're into that stuff?" V asked and Jungkook's cheeks tinted.
"N-not like... it-it- forget it. It's stupid. Doesn't matter." Jungkook mumbled and V shook his head.
"No, no, I want to know. Why didn't you join the dancing club? Does it interfere with football?" V asked and Jungkook shook his head.
"No. Dance is only twice a week and it's during the time when everyone has to do their homework." Jungkook said quietly.
"Then why don't you do it?"
"B-because! The guys might judge me.. and-and the group is full of girls.." Jungkook trailed the last part softly and V snickered.
"Seriously? Kook, listen- the guys aren't going to say anything. And, the girls part-"
"Forget it, V. It's fine. My dad wouldn't be too happy with me spending time dancing. He's already upset that I'm gay." Jungkook mumbled and V sucked in a sharp breath.
"How come.. how come you didn't tell me you were gay?" V asked and Jungkook snickered.
"I tried to pretend like I wasn't. Like there was an.. an inch of me that liked girls. But there isn't. I didn't tel you because I was scared you'd fine it weird. A-and if you do then-"
"I don't. I don't care if you're gay, or straight, or bi. Or whatever. I mean, I'm straight- but like, that doesn't matter. I just.. I just didn't think you were gay. But, that's cool." V said and Jungkook smiled a little, ignoring the comment about him being straight.
"Thanks." Jungkook said softly and then tilted his head.
"Hey... what-what about your parents?" Jungkook asked and V looked down and chuckled.
"My dad's.. busy. He doesn't really care much.. about what I do. And stuff." V said quickly.
"And your mom?" Jungkook asked. V's breath hitched in his throat. He looked hesitant.
"She-she's.. busy too." V said softly and Jungkook knew he should drop the topic, because V looked uncomfortable.
"Okay. I'm sorry. We can both wallow in sorrow about our horrible parents together." Jungkook giggled and V laughed.
"Yeah, I guess we can." V whispered and then leaned forward and kissed Jungkook.
