Chapter 11

It's not a date. Why the fuck would it be a date?? That doesn't make sense- you're friends. You've always been friends. Nothing matters. This whole thing is stupid. You're stupid-

"You okay?"

Jungkook snapped out of his thoughts and then turned to Taehyung, who was walking alondside the other boy to the mall. The nearest mall had an arcade, food court, cinema- almost everything- and it was only 5 minutes walk away from the school. Kids went there all the time over the weekend and stuff.

"Yeah-um- yeah. So.. what-what do you wanna do first?" Jungkook asked.

"I haven't been to the arcade for ages. Think it'd be fun to go there." Taehyung said and Jungkook just followed along- 'cause it was fun to go to the arcade.

Once they reached the mall they went to the arcaderia and immediately went in. Taehyung instantly dragged Jungkook to the air hockey table, where they started playing.

"Fuckin' hell!" Taehyung yelled loudly, attracting attention from little kids who widened their eyes at the swear word. Taehyung earned disapproving looks from some of the adults there, but he couldn't care less.

"How am I losing? I'm supposed to be good at this shit-" Taehyung grumbled and Jungkook just snickered, seeing the score light up with red lights reading 10-6. They'd been playing for a little while now and Taehyung was losing (much to Jungkook's delight).

"Maybe you want to lose." Jungkook said, wiggling his eyebrows at him. Taehyung smirked, just taking the stupid slab-ball thingy and placing it on the air hockey table.

"Losing the bet would be great and all- but I don't lose, Jeon." Taehyung said, hitting the puck across the table to Jungkook's side.

Something felt weird about Taehyung calling him 'Jeon'. It felt so friendly. Too friendly. Taehyung usually called him 'Kook' or 'Kookie' when they were alone, sometimes even around the other guys. Taehyung used to call him by his last name when they weren't exactly on the best terms. But it's fine- doesn't matter. He can call him whatever.

"That's interesting, because I always win." Jungkook said and then slammed the puck across the table and smirked when it slid into the goal.

Taehyung groaned in frustration and Jungkook couldn't help but giggle. "Told ya."

They kept playing for a bit more and of course, Taehyung lost.

"Fuck you." Taehyung mumbled as Jungkook pulled out the tickets from the slot thingy for winning. (He's not bragging, but 15-9 is quite the victory against the legendary V.)

"Chill out. It's just air hockey." Jungkook said and then walked over to Taehyung. "I'm sure you won't be upset when I ride you later." Jungkook whispered into his ear and then leaned back to see a scowl on Taehyung's face.

"Let's not talk about this in public." Taehyung mumbled, but Jungkook could see the slight redness in his cheeks.

After air hockey, they played other competitive games and such, earning tickets and laughing and teasing each other the whole time. Jungkook was actually having a really good time- he's hoping it's because of the games and not because of Taehyung.

Something about Taehyung was just so.. lively. Magnetic. He was so energetic and almost a little dangerous and intimidating. Until you spend a few hours with him, because he turns from this cocky and abrasive football captain who everyone fears, to this lovable childlike boy who has the cutest smile. Fuck, Jungkook could not stop thinking about him.

"Of course you beat me in Dance Dance Revolution- you're great at dancing! How is this even fair?!" Taehyung yelled and Jungkook laughed at how easily frustrated and competitve he got.

"Hey! You won in mini bowling- and I'm great at bowling." Jungkook argued back, seeing how Taehyung was angrily leaning against the DDR machine while watching Jungkook earn more tickets.

"Ohhhh of course you can bowl. You can dance, sing, draw, play football, know taekwondo, can bowl- and on top of that, you're pretty. What is it that you can't do?!" Taehyung snickered and Jungkook felt his cheeks tint. Thank god they were in a dark light, so Taehyung couldn't see the ridiculous flush of his cheeks.

Be with you. Jungkook thought. "Oh shut up." Jungkook mumbled to Taehyung, hitting him lightly. Jungkook took his tickets and tucked them into his back pocket.

"Let's go play the car racing game!" Jungkook said excitedly and then dragged Taehyung to the car racing place. Jungkook didn't hesitate before sitting down onto the car-seat-chair to check the game out, when-

"Holy shit." Taehyung mumbled and Jungkook heard his voice and turned.

"What?" Jungkook asked and saw Taehyung looking somewhere to his right. Jungkook stood up to see where Taehyung's eyes were transfixed and then saw him looking at a girl.

She was standing next to one of the games, laughing at something her friend was saying. She had long black hair and was wearing shorts and a cute blue t-shirt.

"That girl is hot as fuck." Taehyung said and Jungkook felt his stomach tighten at those words.

"Uh... yeah, I guess so." Jungkook said quickly and then tugged on Taehyung's shirt to get his attention back on (him) the game.

"Should I go talk to her? She looks about our age.. probably a year younger." Taehyung said, still mesmerized by this girl.

"She-she's with her friends... Just.. forget it- come on, let's-" Jungkook started, feeling his stomach knot tighter at how Taehyung was looking at this girl. It made him feel icky.

"One sec-" Taehyung said and then Jungkook saw him walk towards the girl.

Jungkook saw with a slight frown on his face as Taehyung said something to her and she turned around and smiled.

He got down on one knee and then banged his fist against the machine- suddenly a lot of tickets started flowing out of the slot machine. It was a clever trick a lot of guys pulled to get more tickets.

The girl started giggling and gave him a cute look. They talked for a bit more and then gave her his phone and she typed something into it and handed it back. She waved her fingers at him and Taehyung must've done something, because she started blushing as she walked away.

"Got her instagram. Gonna slide into those dms." Taehyung stuck his tongue out and did a stupid dance thing- one that was way too cute for how Jungkook was feeling.

Jealous, you could say. Upset. A little confused. Hurt. Envious. Angry. Sad. Mad.

Jungkook gave him a small smile and then turned his attention away, hearing Taehyung say something about her profile picture or something.

"Can we go eat? I'm really hungry and kind of wanna get out of here." Jungkook said quickly and Taehyung looked up from his phone and smiled. "Yeah sure." He replied.

He's not upset. Why would he be upset? They're out here as friends, Taehyung is straight and they're not dating. So, Jungkook isn't upset. Not. One. Bit.

But he did kind of drag Taehyung out of there, away from that stupid long haired, blue t-shirt wearing bitch. Jungkook is definitely not upset.

"Where do you want to eat?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook shrugged.

"We could go to the food court or something. I dunno." Jungkook mumbled and Taehyung suddenly grabbed his waist and turned him- so they were facing each other.

"Nah, that's cheap. There's this really nice italian place. Kind of fancy. Let's go there." Taehyung said and Jungkook felt his insides flutter a little. "Y-yeah.. okay." Jungkook let out softly and Taehyung smiled and let him go.

He wants to take me to a fancy place~ Jungkook thought, feeling tingles run down his spine. No he doesn't- he doesn't like you. You don't like him.

They reached a little italian restaurant and then stood outside, looking at the menu, Jungkook's mouth was unconsciously open- his doll-like doey eyes scanning over the rather pricey items. The restaurant was in a secluded part of the mall and there was no one around.

He felt Taehyung's arm wrap around his waist and his fingers pull his chin, so Jungkook would look at Taehyung.

"You're really cute sometimes, did you know that?" Taehyung said in a hushed voice and Jungkook felt his cheeks heat up, his eyes widened.

"V-V we're in public." Jungkook squeaked out. Taehyung just leaned in closer, his breath fanning on Jungkook's face. "Yeah, but no one's here." Taehyung replied and then brushed their lips together. Jungkook felt a whimper tug in his throat, his stomach doing somersaults.

"Hi." A voice startled the two and Taehyung practically leaped away from Jungkook. His face was red, eyes widened at the fact that someone just saw them. "Can I help you?" The waitress asked and Jungkook gulped.

"T-table for two, please." Jungkook said quietly and the waitress just smiled knowingly at the two and then led them into the restaurant.

Jungkook turned to see Taehyung, who was keeping a distance between the two. Jungkook snickered at him and Taehyung just glared.

"I told you we were in public." Jungkook said quietly as she led them to find a table.

"Shut up." Taehyung mumbled and then both stopped and saw the woman showing them their table- smack in the middle of the restaurant surrounded by adults and kids.

"Can-can we get a table in the corner?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook just rolled his eyes. Jesus, he was so obvious.

"Of course." The woman smiled and then showed them a table way in the corner. They both sat down and then she handed them two menus and left.

"The lasagna here is amazing. Hoseok told me he got a girl here and she swooned over him. In fact, I think-"

"Hoseok got a girl here for a date?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung nodded. Jungkook hid his smile that he was trying to suppress with his menu. He got me here because he likes me~~~~

"You decide what you're going to order, okay? I just need to go use the restroom." Taehyung said and then looked all around to make sure no one was looking, before leaning over to peck Jungkook's lips and then walk away- leaving the poor boy all flustered.

Fuck, Jungkook wasn't even upset anymore. Sure, he got a girl's number- but he had so much charm- Jungkook just couldn't be mad at him.

The same waitress from earlier came up to Jungkook and smiled. "Hi! Have you decided your drink order?" She asked.

"Yeah- um, I'll have a sprite." Jungkook said and the woman quickly jotted it down.

"And for your boyfriend?" The woman asked and Jungkook's head suddenly perked up, his cheeks pink and eyes widened. Boyfriend?

Jungkook paused for a second and then cleared his throat. "He'll have a coke." Jungkook said in a small voice and the woman smiled again, almost adoringly and then nodded and walked away.

Jungkook bit his lip, his feet pressed together. She thought they were boyfriends. Boyfriends. Jungkook knew it was weird to not correct her and let her assume that they're together- but he couldn't help it. Something about the watress thinking Tae was his boyfriend was so cute.

Not that... Jungkook wants Taehyung to be his boyfriend or something... totally not.

Taehyung came back after a few minutes and sat down in his seat. The woman came back and took their orders for the main course and appetizer and left. Taehyung kept looking at his phone while they were eating and Jungkook couldn't help but feel needy and nudged Taehyung's feet with his.

"Who're you texting?" Jungkook asked, swirling the spaghetti around with his fork.

"Hm?" Taehyung asked, looking up. "Oh- um, that girl from earlier."

Jungkook felt his stomach drop. "O-oh okay."

"Might ask her out. She lives around here. Actually, I dunno. Might ask her to hook up." Taehyung mumbled and Jungkook felt his throat tighten and then took a sip of his drink.

"You don't have to. You have me." Jungkook said, giving him a cute little smile. Taehyung snickered.

"No one said I was exclusive to you." Taehyung replied and Jungkook felt disheartened by Taehyung's words. "I-I know.." Jungkook let out and then heard Taehyung laugh.

"I'm kidding, Kook. Chill. Anyways- let's get the bill and go back to the dorm." Taehyung said and Jungkook nodded. They paid the bill and then got up and made their way to the exit of the restaurant, when suddenly Jungkook spotted the waitress from earlier standing by the entrance.

Taehyung walked in front of Jungkook and walked out without fully acknowledging her. The waitress smiled at Jungkook. "I hope you and your boyfriend had a good time." She said and Jungkook's eyes widened when he saw Taehyung turn around and looked confused at her comment.

"Oh. Um- thanks." Jungkook said quickly and then rushed forward and started walking quickly. Taehyung grabbed his arm.

"Did she call me your boyfriend?" Taehyung snapped, his eyes growing darker. Jungkook felt himself crumbling under his gaze.

"I.. I-I was joking.. she-she assumed we were- a-and I didn't correct her." Jungkook squeaked out and Taehyung scoffed, suddenly stepping away from him.

"Jungkook, I really hope you didn't think this was a date or something." Taehyung spoke sharply. "I just came out here with you as friends. It's not special."

Jungkook felt a stab in his heart when Taehyung spoke. He paused and Taehyung just sighed in aggravation.

"You don't mean anything to me, Jeon. We're just hooking up. That's all we are. We're just fuckbuddies- not boyfriends." Taehyung remarked in a tone full of disregard.

"I-I know that." Jungkook said meekly, suddenly feeling smaller and fragile. The words seeped into his heart like dark ink against white sheets.

"What we're doing is fun- don't make things weird. Now she probably thinks I'm gay or something." Taehyung mumbled and then began walking. Jungkook walked fast, trying to keep pace with him.

"It's not like we're going to see her again." Jungkook said, trying to get fun-loving Taehyung back, not angry 'straight' V.

"Yeah, but it's weird." Taehyung spat. "You- forget it."

They walked in silence back to the school, with Jungkook feeling his heart pounding at each step. It's weird.

They reached the dormitory and Taehyung kind of pushed Jungkook into his room. Jungkook's guessing he moved on from what happened at the mall, because Taehyung shoved Jungkook against the wall and pressed their lips together, gripping his waist.

"So, do you want to ride me still or want me to fuck you?" Taehyung asked, licking his lips. The conversation at the mall didn't seem to have affected him at all.

Jungkook on the other hand felt like crying. It didn't feel nice to have Taehyung basically tell Jungkook that he meant nothing to him. It didn't feel nice to know that Taehyung thought everything was just fun. Nothing more.

It didn't feel nice that Jungkook wanted it to be so much more- but he didn't know why. Didn't know why he suddenly wanted Taehyung to kiss him softly and not roughly, wanted Taehyung to hold him and laugh with him not just hold him to fuck him. He wanted more than just sex.

"I..." Jungkook started and then pushed Taehyung off him lightly. "I don't feel that well." Jungkook let out.

Taehyung laughed humorlessly. "Seriously? Don't tell me you're pissed because of what I said." Taehyung snapped.

"I'm-I'm not!" Jungkook snapped back. "I'm just tired and tomorrow is Monday. I rather go to sleep." Jungkook mumbled and Taehyung just rolled his eyes and sat down on his bed. taking his phone out.

"Fine, whatever." Taehyung grumbled, typing away at his phone and then pressing it against his ear. He was calling someone.

"What're you doing?" Jungkook asked, not liking Taehyung's sudden shift in attitude.

"Calling Eka." Taehyung replied, looking at Jungkook with hooded eyes. "Just because you won't sleep with me doesn't mean someone else won't."

Jungkook felt his heart crumble. He wanted to say something. Tell him that Taehyung doesn't need to call anyone because he has Jungkook. But he can't.

"Fine, whatever. Have fun." Jungkook snapped at him and then walked out of the room and made sure to slam Taehyung's door shut.
