Sleep Over
"Sooo," Peggy started, trying to break up the awkward silence that had settled between the two. "John has never been so polite to someone before."
"Does that mean he hates me?"
"No! No," Peggy chuckled. "That means he likes you." She saw Alexander's cheeks flush at that. "Okay, I know you like John and whatever, but... like your still dating my sister? So like... don't hurt her."
"You're the one who wants to help me get with John?" Peggy shrugged.
"Ya' got me there," she sighed. As soon as she stopped at a stop light, she took her hands off of the steering wheel and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. and a lighter. "Don't tell my sisters," she warned, staring straight at Alex as she lit the cigarette and placed it in her mouth.
"Cigarettes kill," Alex pointed out.
"Thats the point," Peggy grumbled. "This world has gone to shit, I don't want to be here to see its downfall." She noticed Alexander move around in his seat uncomfortably. She laughed a bit, smoke pouring out of her mouth. "Sorry, got a little deep there."
"No... Its just... my dad used to smoke. And now whenever I smell it I can't... breathe?"
"Oh shit, sorry," Peggy mumbled, tossing the cigarette butt in a half empty water bottle. "Now... you never really told me where your house was?"

Peggy hates Mondays. Well, she's pretty sure everyone does but she has a special hatred for them. She doesn't know why, she just feels like something... bad is going to happen. "Hi Alex!" she said, smiling. Alexander jumped and turned around, staring at her with wide eyes. Peggy laughed. "What? I thought we were friends now...?" A sinking feeling settled in her stomach. She didn't want to admit it, but she always wanted to hang out with her sisters at school (don't tell Herc or John). This was her chance! But, by the looks of it, she once again miss read social cues. "Oh... sorry," she said awkwardly, rubbing the back of her neck.
"No! Of course we are, you just scared me," Alexander laughed. Peggy nodded.
"Good. So, what do you have first period?"
"Math."
"Aw, I have history. Speaking of history..." Peggy started waving her arms about, calling over her two other friends. "John, Herc! Over here!" John and Hercules ran over to Peggy.
"Oh, uh... hi Alex," John mumbled. He turned and looked at Peggy, excitement radiating off of his body. "Guess what?!"
"What?" Peggy asked.
"We think—"
"We think we know who my soulmate is!" Hercules interrupted, even more excited than John.
"Holy fuck! Who?" she asked, glancing over at Alexander who had a big smile on his face. Soulmates are a big deal. Finding out who your soulmate is, even if its just a guess, makes everyone smile. Unless... well, unless your soulmate is a total asshole.
"This kid named Lafayette-"
"Wait," Alexander interrupted, "Lafayette?" Herc nodded. "As in... Marquis de Lafayette?"
"Yeeeeah...?" Hercules said, confusion clear on his face. "Why, do you know him?"
"He is literally my best friend."
"Holy shit!" John cried. "Well, what are we waiting for? Lets go find this guy!"
"We have, like, two minutes until first," Peggy sighed.
"So?" Alex said. "I know where he hangs out. Lets go!"
"You." John said, pointing to Alex. "I like your style." Alex cheeks flushed. Peggy smiled slightly. Damn, for it being a Monday Peggy was in a good mood.
"Thanks? Okay, whatever, lets go." Alexander rushed off in the direction of the track. One minute until the ten minute bell rang. The whole group followed, turning the corner of the gym to see- "Lafayette!" The taller boy turned, and a bright smile spread across his face.
"Alex! Mon Ami! Who are these people? (future me here. I have to. I JUST WOKE UP IN MY UNDERWEAR—)" he asked, nodding his head at the rest of the group.
"I... me.. is... name... Hercules," Herc mumbled out, his voice shaky. This was definitely not like him.
"Uhm... h... hi? I'm.. I'm Lafayette," Lafayette stuttered. Peggy started giggling, which wasn't something she usually did. The bell rang, signaling that it was time to head to class. "Uhm... Hercules? Was it? Would you like me to walk you to class?" Hercules nodded and headed off together.

Sixth period.
Peggy bounced her leg up and down, anxious for the day to be over. Finally, the last bell of the day rung. She quickly grabbed her bag and pushed herself out of her seat, running out of the room. "Come back here, Ms. Schuyler!" her teacher called. She flipped him off. She ran from the main hall to the back of the school, where the locker rooms were situated. There she waited, once again tapping her foot.
After what seemed like an eternity, a certain freckled boy walked out of the boy's locker room. He was red faced and sweaty. "Aye, John!" Peggy yelled, catching the attention of her friend. He smiled and walked over, tying his hair loosely behind his head.
"Hey Peggster. What's got you all riled up?"
"I got a plan." John quirked his eyebrow, showing his interest. "I'll tell you once we are off campus. I need a smoke break."

The plan was perfect. Peggy wanted to have a sleepover. She usually hated people spending the night, but this time it was different. Not only would she invite John and Hercules, but she would also force Laf and Alexander to tag along. She wanted to see the blossoming romance of Lafayette and Hercules, as well as John and Alex but she didn't tell John that. She took a long drag of her cigarette before puffing out the smoke. "So, what do you think?"
"I... think it's great!" he said, smirking. "But.. why are we inviting Alexander?"
"Because he's my friend," Peggy shrugged, puffing out more smoke. John hummed in response. Peggy offered her cigarette and John took it gratefully.
"Okay Pegs, lets go invite some bitches to this sleepover."
•••
It was Friday, and Peggy started thinking. Maybe the sleepover idea was childish. Peggy was sixteen, was she even aloud to have sleepovers? Or are they only for younger kids? She tugged anxiously at the bottom of John's oversized jacket, which he always let her borrow. "Hey," John mumbled, catching Peggy's attention. "Chill. This isn't something to be nervous about, it's just a sleepover."
"But that's the thing! I don't really do well in sleepovers." John laughed.
"Pegs you'll be fiiine, I swear." Peggy just nodded and looked at the door, twiddling her thumbs.
"When the guck are they gonna get here? Herc is always on time." When she got no response, she looked over at John. He was looking sadly at his arm, the cruel words "fuck you" still tattooed into his skin. She grabbed his arm. "Hey. You don't fucking need whoever wrote that." John looked up and nodded. Peggy could tell that her words didn't help to ease his mind. She crawled onto his lap (not in a weird way you dirty minded readers!) and hugged him.
That is when her sisters decided to ascend gracefully down the stairs. "Hey, Peggy- OH MY GOD!" Peggy and John jumped away from each other, a blush prominent on both of their faces. They both knew it was simply a platonic gesture, but her sisters....
"Ahhh! Are you guys like... soulmates or something???" Eliza asked excitedly. Peggy groaned. She saw John shift uncomfortably at the mention of soulmates.
"Of course not you idiots!"
Peggy heard Angelica whisper "They totally have a thing for each other! I can't wait to plan the wedding!" Peggy knew her sisters were just teasing her, and that made her madder (that's a word... right?).
"Shut up, Angelica! Holy fu-" Peggy was cut off by screaming outside of the door.
"LAFAYETTE! STOP SCREAMING!"
"Ils ont invité Hercules! Alexandre, ils ont invité Herc!"
"I know, you idiot!" Everyone in the house was listening through the open window. They snuck over and looked out it, watching the scene unfold in front of them. John snickered under his breath.
"Vous ne l'obtenez pos, Alex! Il est mon âme soeur! Ils l'ont fair exprès, non?!"
"Yes, it probably was on purpose."
"Herc told him that they are soulmates, holy shit!" John whispered excitedly. Peggy bounced on the balls of her feet. She had heard enough.
"Hey fuckers, get your asses in here!" The yelling immediately ceased, only the sounds of frantic footsteps and the door opening and closing.
"Ah.... Peggy! Ehrm... thank you for inviting us!" Herc said, red faced. Peggy smirked.
Oh this is going to be fun.
I feel like all the characters in this are one dimensional and switch personalities a lot.
