renjun forget to lock the door after his goodbyes to his parents and had planned to wear his school shoes once he goes outside. sitting down the bench that was placed outside, he placed his bag right next to him and went on with wearing his shoes.

just then, a presence took his attention and widened his eyes after seeing his school bag disappearing right next to him.

❝who on earth—❞

a smile greeted him alomg with those crescent moon shaped eyes. ❝good morning cutie.❞

it was just jeno. for a moment there, renjun actually thought that he was robbed. ❝morning, handsome.❞

jeno was frozen there while renjun had already worn his shoes and went past by him. renjun continued on walking and took him enough seconds to realize that jeno wasn't following him. he turned around and saw jeno still in his place. renjun wondered why.

❝jeno?❞

the said male turned around and pointed a finger at himself, ❝you actually think i'm handsome?❞

the chinese then chuckled. ❝why are you asking that? of course you are, isn't it obvious?❞ renjun walked close to jeno only to grab the younger's wrist and drag him out of the front yard. ❝what got you so insecure all of a sudden?❞

there's no way jeno doesn't know he's not handsome, drop dead gorgeous even. he's got all the girls, and probably even let other guys fantasize about him. despite of that bad habit of his, he is quite smart and does well in class. not only that but he's best in sports and was it mentioned on how utterly talented he is? well, it is now.

it's just that bad habit of his that ruins everything. if that was removed then renjun would actually go for a guy like jeno, even jeno himself. but that's impossible, they are friends.

renjun can't blame jeno for being like that though. it's caused by a family problem and it's something renjun has no rights in butting in.

❝i only get insecure with you.❞

the chinese snapped out from his thoughts and raised his head when he was sure that he heard jeno mumble something. ❝what?❞

❝i asked if you wanna stop by in a convenience store?❞ jeno said, as if he repeated what he said a while ago.

❝you're kidding me right? we are running late yet you still wanna go to a convenience store?❞

jeno shrugged. ❝making memories.❞

❝that's insane.❞ renjun could never destroy his perfect attendance in school. unlike jeno who still get high grades yet he doesn't care, renjun actually cares for his. but a smile curved on his lips, his answer totally different from what he had argued inside his head. ❝i like it.❞

jeno honestly did not expect that.

❝let's go!❞

❝wait, i change my mind.❞ jeno stopped. ❝mr. and mrs. huang is going to kill me if they find out about you skipping—❞

❝stop being a perfect boyfriend like those who follow rules.❞ renjun said, chuckling as he nudged jeno with a smile. he reassured him that he's not gonna be called out if ever renjun does receive a scolding from his parents.

jeno hesitated to follow him but then again, this was his plan so it'll just disappoint himself if this doesn't happen.

renjun felt like an achiever when jeno started to tag from behind looking so excited to skip class. ❝plus,❞

the chinese scanned jeno from top to bottom and smiled seeing that even though his actions changed, he is still the jeno he knows. the first three buttons on his uniform unbuttoned. his polo not tucked in, and his undershirt having prints on it. renjun smiled. yep, this is the jeno he grew up with.

❝i like those who break rules.❞

❝okay, when i agreed on skipping classes, i actually meant skipping first period only.❞ renjun complained, hugging the human sized bear that jeno won for him in that one arcade they went.

the younger snickered, bringing paper bags along with another bear that renjun won for him in that dancing machine. inside the bags were clothes and snacks that they were supposed to eat a while ago before they realized that he skipped almost half the day.

they arrived school only to earn looks. well, who wouldn't look at them when they looked like they've been in an amusement park with all the bags, teddy bears, and candies they brought with them. having no choice, they carried it around the campus and barely even survived the other half of the day.

❝come on, i know you enjoyed.❞ jeno nudged him, trying to make renjun admit it.

❝i did.❞ the chinese then pouted, ❝but i didn't know there's a consequence after enjoying.❞

❝of course there is! like having sex for example.❞

renjun's jaw dropped when he came unready with what jeno has to say. ❝jeno!❞

❝it's nice and you get to enjoy the feeling too much that you forgot everything around you.❞ jeno continued, not aware of renjun heating up with the topic they are having. ❝also forgetting the condom. and in the end, boom! you get babies.❞

❝oh god.❞ renjun whined, covering his ears as his walking pace went faster. ❝i can't believe i just heard that.❞

jeno chuckled as he stopped his tracks once seeing a familiar door. the hallways they were in went silent as the two just stared at each other with a smile on their faces. they undoubtedly enjoyed the day despite of getting detention for skipping classes. of course, they enjoyed having each other's company.

❝so, tomorrow?❞ jeno said, fumbling inside his pockets after placing the paper bags down and getting the keys to his apartment.

renjun nodded his head with a smile not leaving his lips. ❝it's my place tomorrow.❞

the two actually argued before they got to walk home together. jeno wanted to bring renjum home but renjun thought it was unfair because jeno took him home the other day. renjun wanted to return the favor by bringing jeno to his apartment this time and tomorrow it'll be jeno's turn to bring renjun home.

jeno opened the door and pointed the paper bags, renjun owned all of them. ❝should i leave them here for the mean time?❞

seeing the human sized bear renjun is holding, jeno doubts he could carry all of these. ❝yeah, i'll get those tomorrow.❞

❝great.❞

normally, it's time for renjun to leave and jeno to get inside his apartment after putting the paper bags and also the teddy bear renjun gor for him inside but the two only stood there. they waited for something. like what? a miracle perhaps.

❝well,❞ jeno cleared his throat. ❝thank you?❞

the chinese's eyes wandered around, actually disappointed. he didn't even know why. he mayhaps hoped jeno would do something aside from saying his thanks. ❝oh,❞ but he only let out a chuckle instead of showing his disappointment. ❝i also enjoyed the day having you by my side. thank you, even though you got me in trouble.❞

jeno gasped in betrayal while pointing a finger at the chinese who laughed at his reaction, ❝excuse you mister huang but you also agreed to this.❞

❝right.❞

and the silence came back once again to make the two have an awkward tension.

renjun hugged the bear tight, ❝i should get going then.❞

jeno felt like he had to do something before renjun leaves. where's the inner boyfriend material in him? he needed it right now.

❝wait.❞

renjun raised his head up and suddenly felt jeno's warm hand resting on his cheek while the other held his small waist. he was pulled closer by the younger and renjun could feel his heart beating very fast. the distance between the two was dangerously close that renjun could feel jeno's hot breath hovering over his lips.

was it normal to feel like this between friends?

it felt like the right thing to do. jeno smiled and started to lean close, closing his eyes once he saw renjun doing it.

just when they were about to connect their lips, heels were heard down the hallways that snapped renjun out from his thoughts and unintentionally pushed jeno away. he snapped his head to the side and saw a shadow from the stairs, giving jeno a look after.

❝some things never change, huh?❞ renjun scoffed.

once an f boy, always an f boy. renjun thought he changed, he was probably wrong about jeno's bad habit.

and they actually almost kissed.

❝what do you mean?❞ jeno furrowed his brows. what could have made renjun stop the moment they had a while ago?

jeno followed to where renjun was looking and saw the landlord taking time to get up to the stairs. jeno smiled and waved a hand at her, wondering what she was doing up in his floor.

"jeno, young man, you forgot to pay this month's rent."

right, that's it.

meanwhile, renjun stood there, shocked. he expected for a woman with skimpy clothes to appear, just one of jeno's girls he called to come over and please his night. but instead, it was an old lady that was there to remind jeno about his rent.

he felt embarrassed.

❝so renjun,❞ jeno looked back at the short male who was silent. ❝what do you mean by it?❞

the chinese buried his head on top of the teddy bear to hide his flustered face and turned away, confusing jeno with his actions. ❝nothing, i'm going now.❞

jeno frowned as he watched renjun walk away slowly. that's all? after ruining their moment, he's just going to leave like that? jeno held back a groan and just ran a hand through his hair. he then managed to pull off a fake smile, just for renjun not to think that he was desperate for that kiss.

❝take care, little spoon.❞

which jeno really is desperate for it.
