Many were surprised when Mario was found leaning against a tree with Oliver on his lap. They didn't say anything at the time but when it happened on several other occasions, Jakey finally decided to ask one time. "U-um M-mario, um, I-I-I was just wondering, w-why is O-Oliver with you?"

Mario cracked an eye open even as his right hand started petting Oliver. Upon seeing Jakey, he closed his eye as he said. "He started coming up to me begging for cookies when I'd have lunch out here, after I give him cookies, he curls up in my lap and honestly its quite comfortable so I don't really question it."

"O-oh really?" Jakey asked in surprise.

"Yeah, he's a nice whatever he is." Mario nodded before he gently picked up Oliver and handed him to Jakey. "You can take him inside now though if you want, he usually doesn't wake up for a bit once he's fallen asleep on me."

"O-Ok." Jakey stuttered even as he went back inside.

And when two days later, Oliver was found on Mario's lap once more, no one questioned it.
