Mama Dragon
Mario was walking out of the guild hall on his way to the gardens when he heard quiet whimpering. It was so quiet that anyone who wasn't a dragon slayer, or a cat, wouldn't hear it. Following the sound, he found Jakey with his hands over his ears, face halfway buried in between his legs.
Kneeling in front of the timid time mage, Mario asked gently. "Jakey? What's wrong?"
Jakey looked up and whimpered again upon seeing him, making Mario worried. He tried to put his hand on Jakey's shoulder, but Jakey flinched back. Mario asked him once again, even more concerned. "Jakey, what's wrong?"
The time mage sniffed before saying. "Everything... Its all so different from the Protectors guild... and the training is too rough for me at least... and I can't sleep cause of the strain I'm getting from training... and I can't relax because one of the others will just pop in and say its training time... and while I could stop time that would just put more of a strain on my magic... and... and..." Jakey burst into tears and Mario was quick to hug him. The younger boy instantly snuggled into his side even as he continued to cry.
Inside, Mario was seething with rage that his guild had nearly broken a young mage, but on the outside, he had to put on a comforting aura to get the time mage to calm down.
When Jakey was fully calmed, Mario helped him to his feet before telling him. "Come with me, we're getting you a fully relaxed break at least."
Jakey nodded as he followed the dragon slayer. When they approached Ritchie and Brandon's office, he nearly scurried the other way in fear but Mario soothed him quickly even as he entered the guild masters' office.
"Ah Mario, good to see you, and you brought Jakey great, we had a training-" Mario cut Ritchie off. "I'm declaring Code 425 for Jakey."
Both guildmasters were instantly attentive as they looked at the nervous time mage behind him. When Brandon went to ask why, Mario answered with. "He's straining his magic and not getting enough sleep."
Ritchie and Brandon looked at each other, using silent twin communication, before looking at Jakey and said. "Code 425 approved, relax, we'll inform your guild and the rest of our guild that you're not to be bothered for the rest of the day at the least."
Jakey nodded hesitantly before leaving. Mario then turned to the guildleaders with a furious look in his eyes.
"I would also like to invoke Code 133 between myself and Jakey until further notice." Ritchie and Brandon both gaped at him in surprise.
"Why do you want to train him in particular, with yourself being the only one who can train him?" Ritchie asked.
"Huh, maybe because I found him crying, and, and I cannot stress this enough, flinching back from me, who hasn't even trained him yet, because of the training he's gone through so far here." Mario said with a glare.
"What do you mean he flinched away from you?" Brandon asked in surprise.
"I found him almost crying and so I tried to put my hand on his shoulder. He snapped back faster than when Inmo launches someone." Mario said still glaring. "I'm pretty sure when it gets to the point where someone flinches from anyone of a particular guild because of the training they've gone through, it signifies at least near abuse."
Ritchie and Brandon hissed at the thought before Brandon sighed and said. "Code 133 granted."
"Thank you." Mario nodded at him but before he left, he said. "If your training ever makes him cry again, I will end up back in prison but with a worse crime."
The guildmasters stared at the door in which he left in complete surprise.
