Quick AN: This chapter includes more Daveed x Mario, just letting you guys know!

One never considered it in the guild hall, as he was called a cavern dragon slayer, but Mario's power had everything to do with the earth, meaning rocks, dirt, and unknown to most, plants. Another thing they never considered was who took care of the gardens when Daveed was away and how they didn't get into a sorry state without the ice mage's green thumb. Well the answer was, he wasn't the only one.

Daveed was just getting back from a long mission and after seeing the guildmasters about his report and reward, he went straight to his gardens to see if they had been taken care of. Upon arriving at the gardens however, he was pleasantly surprised to see that they were in excellent condition. He still had to wonder who the guildmasters appointed to take care of his gardens while he was away.

He got his answer as he rounded a corner to see Mario on the ground with his hands glowing around a flower's roots. He would have straight up yelled at him until he managed to hear what the dragon slayer was saying.

"There we go, little one, fresh soil for you. Its from the other side of the island so while it isn't completely untouched, its still packed with way more nutrients for you." Mario cooed at the flower even as he dissipated his magic from around the flower.

Daveed saw Mario wipe his brow as he stood up. "Now there was a little bud I saw on the far west side that probably needs some nutrients as well."

Mario hurried off to another part of the garden, which surprised Daveed as he thought for sure the dragon slayer would've noticed him by now. Then Daveed realized that Mario was so distracted by the plants that he wasn't focusing on his surroundings. This was his opportunity!

Ever since Mario had accidentally revealed that he had a crush on Daveed, Daveed had never managed to get him alone so that he could talk to him. And when he sometimes got the spring on him when they were alone, Mario always ran before he could even get close to him.

To be honest, he had never thought about Mario in a romantic light until Mario had revealed that he had a crush on him by accident. That's when he realized that not only did he like Mario back but he had for a while. He recognized that he had kind of been doing a version of 'pulling a girl's pigtails' with Mario. He teased him because he liked him and he hadn't realized it.

So Daveed snuck through the garden, even if Mario wasn't expanding his senses, he would still hear him if he made a loud enough noise. He managed to get right behind Mario as he was tending to another flower. He sat down right behind Mario on his knees, before leaning forward to put his arms around Mario's waist.

The dragon slayer jumped very badly and tried to direct an attack at him but Daveed just hugged him tighter and said. "Its just me Daveed."

Mario froze in place which gave Daveed time to pull him into his lap. When Mario realized this however, he tried desperately to escape, looking frantic.

"Mario, please can we just talk?" Daveed asked as he held the dragon slayer in his lap.

"I don't want to talk." Mario said turning away from Daveed as he realized he couldn't escape.

"Mario-" "I said no! I don't want to talk!" Mario interrupted him.

"Then... Let me just do this." Mario was going to ask what he was talking about when his head was turned and Daveed kissed him.

His eyes went wide. Daveed was kissing him? He couldn't believe it. He didn't do anything for a moment before kissing back. And in that moment everything was perfect.
