It's not Easy Living on the Streets
Daveed and Mario were heading back to the guild after a mission in Atlantide. To get back to their ship quicker, they took some of the shadier paths, but they were find with that. Especially since they were both ex convicts and knew how it worked.
They were just turning another street when Mario felt his money pouch being snagged off his person. He instantly stopped and looked around causing Daveed to stop as well.
"Whats wrong?" Daveed asked and Mario told him. "Someone just snagged my money pouch."
Daveed growled even as Mario took a sniff to see if he could smell it anywhere. He started walking in the direction he could smell his pouch coming from. Then both he and Daveed small the familiar little bag in someone's hand and they both followed.
They finally managed to corner whoever had stolen Mario's money, but when Mario finally manage to snatch it back, that's when the person's hood fell off. Mario stopped dead, surprising both the young girl and Daveed.
Mario looked at the girl hard before asking. "Kid, where are your parents?"
When the girl just looked away, Mario sighed before he pulled out some coins. He pressed them into the girl's hands, shocking everyone except himself.
"I recommend getting some multigrain bread from the market and two cans of food, they'll last longer." Mario told the girl quietly even as the girl's eyes shimmered from joy.
"Thank you Mister!" The girl said before darting away.
Mario turned to Daveed then, but before Mario could say anything, Daveed asked. "Why'd you do that?"
Mario was silent for a moment before he told him. "Its not easy living on the streets, especially when you're a kid..."
And with the look in Mario's eyes, Daveed didn't have the heart to question him on the subject anymore.
Quick AN: So this used to say that it was a young boy instead of a young girl but I came up with an idea that needs for the kid to be a girl so I changed it.
