JACQUELINE WATCHED AS STEVE WAS BLOWN OUT OF THE BANK AND ONTO A CAR.

"Steve!" She ran over to him as firefighters got the hostages out of the building, "Hey, are you okay?"

He broke out of his haze and nodded, "Jacq, I need you to get out of here."

"Woah, what?"

Steve shook his head, "We might not be able to hold it. I need you to leave before-"

"Steve." She grabbed his hands, "I'm with you to the end. I'm not leaving." She squeezed his hands, "Now, let's finish this."

A blast sent them flying. The smoke cleared and Jacq struggled to stand, "Let's finish this."

Getting to her feet, Jacqueline held out her hands and froze everything around her. She dropped back down to her knees, feeling weak.

She looked up to see Thor and Steve fighting off more Chitauri. Steve got shot in the abdomen and his feet slid out from underneath them.

Jacqueline raised her hand once again to send a blast of sleet at a car, slamming it into another group of Chitauri. Thor walked over and helped her up before they went back to Steve, "Ready for another bout?" He asked the two,

"What, you getting sleepy?" Steve asked as he looked around for more targets.

 "I can close it!" They heard Ana say through the ear pieces, "Can anybody hear me? We can shut the portal down!"

"Do it!" Steve ordered,

"No, wait!" Tony demanded,

"Stark, these things are still coming!" Steve replied, looking up at the portal,

"I got a nuke coming in, it's gonna blow in less than a minute." He explained, "And I know just where to put it."

Jacqueline looked over at Steve, "Can he stop a nuke?"

"I have no clue." Steve sighed, "Stark, you know that's a one way trip."

Tony didn't reply and Jacq swallowed nervously.

Everyone watched from the street as Tony flew into the portal, taking the missile with him. 

The Chituari around them fell over, signalling that he did it. Tony Stark did it.

They waited for Tony to come back through, but he never did. There was a bright light coming from the other side of the portal, letting them know that the missile had exploded.

 "Close it." Steve ordered.

The beam disappeared and the portal began collapsing on itself. But Jacq watched as a figure came through the portal before it disappeared.

It was Tony.

"Steve." Jacq whispered, smacking his arm,

They all watched as he fell, "Son of a gun." Steve mumbled.

He kept falling without any sign of stopping, "He's not slowing down." Thor stated. He began twirling his hammer, prepared to jump and grab the man when something else grabbed him.

Jacq watched as the Hulk jumped into the air and grabbed him. The two hit the ground and the three of them ran over,

Thor flipped him over and ripped the helmet off Tony's face, "Is he...?" Jacqueline asked, staring at his still face. Steve grabbed her hand and squeezed it.

The Hulk stood above them, and let out a roar. Jacqueline flinched and Tony opened his eyes and let out a gasp, "What the hell?" Tony looked around at all of them, "What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me?"

Steve nodded and sat back, "We won."

"Alright. Hey. Alright. Good job, guys. Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma?" Tony asked, "There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I wanna try it."

Jacqueline laughed and stood up. Steve stood beside her and she leaned against his arm, "I need a nap."

"We're not finished yet." Thor replied and everyone turned to look at him.

"And then shawarma after." Stark insisted.
