Chapter 34
The room was dark, all but the small glow of light peaking in under the door. You could hear the music rumbling from beneath the floorboards, but the only thing I was focused on was the feeling of my heartbeat pounding like a lambeg drum against my rib cage as his lips came into contact with my skin.
My hands began to feel clammy as he lightly pushed me backwards, causing my back to come into contact with his old hardwood floors. He could've at least brought me to the bed, but I think we were both a little impatient, so I guess the floor works too.
He began to trail kisses down my neck before he attached himself to the base, sucking lightly. I could tell he was trying to be slow as his hands gently roamed my sides, gliding over my hip bones under my shirt.
I tangled my hands into his blonde hair, tugging at the roots as his teeth grazed the skin. I bit my lip in order to contain the small moan that so badly wanted to be released.
The music was slowly fading out and it was suddenly like we were in our own little world. The world where everything and everyone is perfect. Everyone feels, everyone smiles. Giggles are shared and love is spread.
"Can I?" He asked, his accent rolling perfectly off his tongue. He bit his lip as he awaited the anticipation of my answer. I nodded, my heart rate automatically accelerating even more as my shirt left my body. A smile made it's way to his face as his piercing blue eyes roamed my body; causing little goosebumps to fill my skin.
"Kiss me, please.", I begged as I pulled his head down to meet mine. His lips finally met mine, making an explosion fill my veins as his hands began to ignite each exposed area on my upper body. I whimpered when his hands slid around to my back, unhooking the thin piece of clothing that separated us. "Niall, please." I moaned, unable to control the heating and pressure inside the pit of my stomach.
"Khlo." My name tumbled from his lips in such a delicate way. As if it was so natural. Formed perfectly by his pink lips as he then sealed it with a feathery kiss to my now exposed chest. A wild fire spread across the new flesh, as his mouth worked it's wonders. My eyes closed, and back arched, a greatful pain shooting down my spine as he began to suck on my skin, working down towards my breasts.
Just then, a loud banging was heard against the old oak door, followed by a crashing of shattered glass. My eyes snapped open-
My eyes snapped open, blinking a few times to take in my atmosphere. The heat was radiating through the car like crazy, making my back stick to the leather. My head was resting against the glass window as I sat calmly, watching my parents fidget outside with my suitcase, as I also tried to figure out my dream.
Niall. I was dreaming about Niall. Not just any dream, but him touching me.. I had a foreign feeling in my stomach at how real the dream felt. It was as if I could still feel his fingers running down my skin.
My head shot up at the voice of my mother's that I had long missed as she slammed the trunk of the car shut. "Khloe, come inside, baby girl! Eek, I'm so excited!", she squealed as she practically ran into the house.
I sighed and wiped the small beads of sweat - that were starting to form on my hairline- away before I unbuckled and slowly got out of the car.
The weather here was so different from Georgia's, just in the few hours of time. I was blinded by the sun and the heat here was so much more intense than what my body had adapted to over the past few weeks. An eighty degree day here is as if you were stranded in a sauna, while as in Georgia, an eighty degree day is like being in a seventy degree day here- a light breeze, cloudy overcast, none of this humidity shit.
I squinted my eyes and slowly stretched before looking around the foreign, yet so familiar place.
Our house was made of light, sandy color bricks, standing tall on the front of the beach. Since my parents were home all the time, our yard was also taken care of -a thick shade of plush, green grass that was cut to the finest point; our glazed over, cobblestone driveway sticking out in contrast. Palm trees stood tall around the perimeter of the yard, guarding the beautiful flower beds that my mom had created.
She always tried to drag me out of the house to come and help her plant, but to be honest, the only reason I did was because I enjoyed picking out the flowers. I hated the digging in the dirt, and the messy mulch that she would lay, but I will always give her credit in the end for having the most beautiful gardens.
The one along the stairs to the front entrance will always be my favorite though. It's lined with small pink and orange hibiscus and then gradually fills up with beautiful, eye catching plumerias that are pink around the edges with a bright orange and yellow color in the middle. It just looks so.. happy, I guess.
I smiled and made my way towards the steps that eventually led into the entrance way. Our house was.. quite large, to say the least, so when my seventy year old neighbors, Ed and Jan, called my name, I was able to see them over the railing, on the side of their house in the small porch swing, and give a wave. Ed rested back into the seat and wrapped his arm around Jan, as they both smiled and watched their grandchildren run around with colorful calk.
They're so cute! I hope to have that when I'm old and gross.
I slowly entered the large french doors that lead into the grand entrance room. I hadn't realized how much I actually missed this place until I heard the small patters across the hardwood floors of the living room. A small, chocolate lab stood at my feet, her tail wagging and mouth agape as her floppy ears bounced slightly from excitement.
A smile made its way to my lips as I took off my shoes, pushing them to the side. I bent down, eye level with the puppy as she placed her paws onto my bare knees. "Rezzy!" I cuddled her into my arms the best that I could, laughing as she began to lick my face. I'm not usually the one to really like dog kisses, but for some reason, Rezlyn's have been the only one I've ever enjoyed. They're not all sloppy and wet like most.
"Hi, baby.", I cooed, chuckling as I pushed her down, making her sit in front of me. She's only a couple months old, but she sure has grown since I've last seen her.
I ran my fingers across her head and down her ears before I stood up, making my way into the house. The blast of air conditioner hit me as I entered the living room, plopping down on the cool, tan leather couch.
You could say that our house was also quite open. Tall, spacious windows that over looked the ocean (such a perfect place to watch the sun set as I had done for years), open arches that connected all the main rooms, a widely spread kitchen and a main dining area off of it.
When I was little, I would honestly get lost, and it would take me ten minutes to find my way. Now, by the time I was eight, I can assure you that I knew my way pretty well, but my friends on the other hand.. well, they usually ended up having to yell for me.
One thing that was always bad though, was that since it's so open, it echos a lot, so the games of hide and seek weren't as fun as they could've been.
"Khloe?" I glanced up to see my mom making her way down the winding, carpeted staircase. She had a firm grip on the dark wood railing as her eyes met mine. "Dad wants to know if you wanna help him in the library."
I knitted my eyebrows together, sitting up so I could pay better attention. "What does he need help with?", I chuckled, feeling my phone buzz in my pocket.
She had a devious smile on her lips, but tried to hide it with a cough in the arm. What the hell is she up to? "Just.. books and.. stuff."
"Um, okay...", I chuckled sending her an unsure look as I stood up and walked to the stairs, slowly passing her.
I pulled out my phone, checking the message as I made my way down the hall.
Niall-
How'd your plane ride go?
To: Niall-
Alright, just made me really tired. haha
I clicked the home button and shoved it into my pocket before lightly tapping on the door.
When I opened it, his big black chair was turned towards the desk that was piled high with soft covered books. Papers were scattered across the top, as well as a few pens and pencils that were tipped over in a black, metal wired holder.
"Hey dad, what'd ya need?" The chair turned around and I couldn't help but to feel weak in the knees. To say I was surprised was a little of an understatement.... or a big one. I couldn't help my feet as they quickly made their way across the room, not even giving my mind enough time to catch up. "Kaylee?"
She stood up, pulling me into her. "Yes, Kaylee.", she laughed. "Did you forget me?" I shook my head against her shoulder before pulling away to look at her again.
Her short blonde curls had grown out and were now cascading down hair back in a pin straight style. Her green eyes were big with excitement, popping out against her natural eye makeup.
"No, I could never forget you, but- just- I.. What are you doing here?! I thought you, like, moved across the world!" I could barely form words from the amount of shock I was in.
My best friend from five years ago, whom I have attempted to make little to no contact with was now standing in front of me. Up until eighth grade we were inseparable. My parents would call her one of their own, and her parents always said the same about me. Then, one day, she was just gone. Her dad had transferred jobs and they moved him to Ireland.
Being an only child, it was tough for me to cope with. I didn't want to go outside and make new friends, I just wanted Kay back. That was pretty much the year that I really became invested in having an iPhone, as well as Netflix. To be honest, five years had past, and I just wasn't expecting her to really ever come back.
"We did, but I'm back now.", she broke me out of my thoughts with a smile.
"For good?" I'm dreaming. I have to be.
"Yes! I just got accepted to Florida State University in May, so I came back last month." Backing up, I leant against one of the book shelves for support. "However, you had already left for.. where is it again?"
"Uh, Georgia." I nodded my head, the smile still present. I don't know how, but somehow we ended up sitting in the corner by the window, curled up in small beanbags as we continued to talk for a little bit, catching up on the things that we've missed out on.
Niall's POV*
I need to see her. Talk to her. Something! It hasn't even been twelve hours and I'm already feel like I'm going insane.
I wish I could have begged her to stay. At least through Sunday. My birthday is tomorrow, and so far the only present I want the most is for her to be here, but I know that's just crazy talk. It'd be selfish of me to stop her from going. I mean it's only one week, and plus she needs to be home. She deserves to see her family who probably loves and misses her dearly. It wouldn't be right of me to hold that off even longer, or stop her from leaving, just because I need her. That's not going to win my 'friendship' or whatever this is. Instead, that would probably just destroy it and make her mad at me, and that's the last thing I want.
I sighed and sunk into the couch of the frat house as I shot her a quick text, trying to minimize the chance of sounding desperate. I didn't want her to know that my head has imprisoned her. I didn't want her to know that I was constantly thinking about her.
I don't even know how this all happened, everything is going by too fast. I told myself that no girl was ever going to do this to me, but somehow Khloe has managed to. She managed her way through every crack and crevice of my brain, and now I don't know how to get her out.
To: Khloe-
How'd your plane ride go?
I sat impatiently, mindlessly tapping my thumb against the small screen as I awaited her response. Why is she taking so damn long?
Fuck, Niall. Get yourself together. This is not you.
I sighed again, fixing my snapback on my head as I rested into the back of the couch, watching Collin and Zak argue about whether or not Collin cheated in Call of Duty. After about a minute, my phone buzzed against my stomach, making it go light. My eyes perked up as I read the text.
Khloe-
Alright, just made me really tired. haha
I hadn't even realized I was smiling until Zayn walked down the stairs, calling me out on it. "Horan, get your head out of your ass and get a controller. The girl can wait." He smirked as he chucked a remote at me. A flicker of pain was shot through my hand as the plastic came into contact hardly with my bones, making me cringe and shoot Zayn a glare.
"Are you two faggots done yet?"
"Fuck off, Niall." Zak spoke as he shoved Collin by the shoulder with a smile. They both stood up, starting to walk towards the kitchen. "Do you guys want anything?"
"A beer." Zayn and I spoke simultaneously as he started messing with the game, setting everything up.
"So, where's Luke?" I couldn't help but to ask the one question that had been bothering me for the past three hours.
I was kind of expecting him to be here, moping about how for a whole fucking week he'd have to be by himself. But, much to my surprise, he wasn't.
Zayn just shrugged, taking his beer from Collin. I took mine as well, automatically breaking off the cap and taking a drink. "I don't know. He doesn't really come around a lot. I think last night he ended up sleeping at Khloe's." Absent mindedly, I nodded my head, taking another sip of the bitterly fizzy drink.
Wait, no.. I was with Khloe last night..
"What do you mean? Why do you think that?" That doesn't add up.. where the hell was he if he didn't come back?
"Why do you care?" I shrugged, starting the game. "I just thought because I caught him sneaking in this morning and then he had to get ready really fast and said he just came to get cleaned so he could run Khlo to the airport."
I nodded my head as the conversation started to die out. Where the fuck was he?
My phone caught my attention as it began to buzz against the couch. I paused the game quickly, earning curse words to be thrown at me by Zayn as I picked up my phone and unlocked it.
"The fuck, Niall? C'mon.." I ignored him, smiling as I read over Khloe's text.
Khloe-
Tell Liam to F off, will you please?
lmao
To: Khloe
Haha I'm not with him at the moment. Why
Khloe-
He won't stop blowing up my phone with funny pictures and it keeps buzzing and fuck it's annoying! haha
"Dude, put the damn phone down and play the fucking game." I ignored Zayn again, flipping him the finger as I continued to type, leaving the game on pause.
To: Khloe
Haha turn your phone off
Even though, I didn't want her to, it would definitely be a way to solve her problems..
Khloe-
I would but I'm trying to find a dress for my aunt's wedding, so I need it
:P
To: Khloe
Sorry babe, I guess you're out of luck. :P
"Niall, fuck!" I glanced up at Zayn to see him pull the controller off my lap.
"Hey!" I reached over, pulling it back from him and pressing the pause button again, pausing the game that he had started back up.
"Well then play the damn game or I'll just get Zak to again." I sighed and picked up the controller, finally unpausing the game. "I've never seen you do that, man"
"Things change, lad." I stuck with that, feeling my phone buzz in my lap. I bit my lip in order to contain myself from looking. He's right, she can wait for a sec. Just until I blow Zayn's brains up, which shouldn't take that long.
I fired a shot at the tank he was hiding behind before running around to meet him. He started to fire at me so I quickly hid behind the wheel before popping the tab on a grenade and chucking it towards him before taking off and heading in the opposite direction. My guy was quickly knocked to the ground as the explosion took place behind me, blowing up the whole tank.
"Fuck, mate!", Zayn shouted at me as I chuckled. My phone buzzed again and I smiled as I was finally able to look down.
Khloe-
guess I am.. well shit. hahah
okay, strapless or one shoulder?
To: Khloe
Hahaahah!
I think the strapless are sexy as hell, but send me a pic.
She responded immediately, making my eyes perk up.
Khloe-
That's what I was thinking. Not the sexy part haha but the sleeveless :)
"Yes, babe. I will." I glanced behind me to see Luke entering the house with a giant smile as he continued to talk on the phone, taking off his shoes and pushing them to the side.
He quickly turned around and his eyes grew wide while his mouth hung agape as I continued to stare at him.
"Gotta go, bye." He hung up quickly, smiling again as he held his phone in the air. "Khloe." I furrowed my eyebrows, nodding as I glanced back to my phone.
Maybe she just called to tell him something quick? Or remind him of something?
My phone lit up again as two small pictures flashed along the screen.
The dresses were both a light purple, cut off at the knee. Personally, I definitely liked the strapless over the one shoulder thing. It'd look good on her body.
To: Khloe
hahaha go with the no sleeve one. And were you just on the phone with Luke?
I took a quick swig of my beer, glancing around the small living room to see everyone indulged in their own conversations. Emily seemed to have sometime joined us as her and Collin sat on the floor making out.
I couldn't help the temptation as I leaned over and grabbed a pillow, chucking it at them. "Get a room!" They groaned and everyone focused their attention on them, stifling laughs.
I chuckled, glancing back to my phone as it lit up again.
Khloe-
uh, no?...
Sorry guys, I know it's a filler and it's short, but I promise to make it up to you soon.
I've been studying for finals so I haven't had a ton of time to write, but I at least wanted to get something posted.
Even though it's THE WORST CHAPTER I'VE EVER WRITTEN, I still hope you liked it, even a just little bit.
haha Love you! Xx
