As soon as the ice around the palace melted, Rose sent a search party for Lynn, despite knowing it was hopeless.
"She could have been bluffing," she tried convincing herself. "She could still be around here."
But time progressed before her eyes and still nothing. They hand split up, searching all sides of Dria for any sign of her.
Dusk was quickly approaching and with the mess of Dria ending, being out when the sun had set wasn't exactly a scenario she felt quite comfortable with.
The fact that she could still feel a part of Lynn bonded to her meant she was still alive but Rose wasn't sure how long that would last.
Right as she was about to turn around and head back to the palace, something sitting at the horizon, beside her favourite volcano.
She approached it slowly, wanting a better look but as soon as she did, she regretted it. Not only did she see it, it saw her.
The Ice Dragon was far larger than any creature she had ever seen in all her life. It's scaly skin reflected the luminous lava and cold, white eyes proved he wasn't there to play games.
He approached her slowly and growled lowly.
"Hiya fella," Rose uttered slowly. "How are you doing?"
He sat down in front of her and exhaled a cold mist through his nostrils.
"Oh my," she muttered. "It would be great to talk to you but... I have to go."
She took a couple of steps back but he growled again and flew above her to he could block her way back.
"So you want to talk? Have a little chat?"
He growled louder.
"I see you don't. Apologies but what else do you want from me then?"
He began to circle her, exhaling slowly before glancing back her with hatred in his eyes.
Within a second, he blew a cold air in her direction. She managed to slimly dodge it, but not without a little mist gazing her skin, giving her a nasty burnt (ice burns Flames just like fire burns Icicles). She winced before fixating her eyes alarmingly at him.
"Did I provoke you? Not into small chat?"
He blew again, and this time he did was right on target.
Rose fell to the ground in utter agony, her skin immediately burning.
He blew again as she was down, adding salt to the wound.
"Stop," she choked out. "Please."
He paused for a minute, snorted then blew again.
At this point, some of her flesh had already burnt off and she look as though she had just walked through three kilometres of fire.
He blew once more and she coughed out blood, feeling her organs slowly freeze up. It hurt worse than any pain she and ever been through and she was certain she would die if he blew any more.
"Rose!" Bam's voice sounded distant but from her blurry vision, she could tell he wasn't that far. She could feel herself falling in and out of consciousness. One second Bam was running to her, the next he was in the middle of a battle with the Ice Dragon, the next he was on the ground. She didn't see what happened between the three moments but she could guess.
Bam tried using the last of his ice powers to bind up the dragon but, unsurprisingly, it wasn't enough to keep a creature of his kind down. He easily broke away at the binds and flew up before blowing down on them again.
Rose's condition got worse. More blood dripped out of her mouth, her whole body was badly burnt, and she would stay unconscious for longer and conscious for shorter.
The last thing she saw, however, before falling into a deep slumber was a blanket of ivies wrapping around the ice dragon and pinning it to the ground.
She fell asleep after seeing a figure sprinting towards her.
