The void dream Rose had not long ago returned. Only, she wasn't on top of the void anymore. It all made sense now. She hadn't unlocked access to the Earth Kingdom yet which is why she only saw the borders in the previous dream. But now she could see what was truly happening around her.
She circled the land in utter terror, tears immediately filling her eyes. The flames, the ice, the reason they were in the sky all made sense. They were consuming the Air Kingdom. The spreading fire burnt everything in its course, ice froze whatever the fire missed and the ground shook miserably in a violent earthquake.
Rose watched as the fire dropped down the the Earth Kingdom and comsumed the land mercilessly. Trees burnt and fell, grass and bushed were left as nothing more than ashes, embers and the remains of what once was.
The ice soon made its way down after destroying the Air Kingdom and began to freeze the embers. Freeze the land. The last of the wind from the Air Kingdom helped distribute the fire and ice. The ground trembled fiercely, making her fall to the ground. Then she saw it. The one behind the end.
Nat and her dragons.
She was beautiful but Rose knew better than to admire her. She had to run.
She sprinted to gosh knows where while Nat destroyed the remains of the kingdom. That was when Rose began to see people. They were springing around, trying to save themselves or friends and family.
Rose felt like a useless leader. She should be helping them, fighting against Nat but she wasn't.
Suddenly a pair of strong arms pulled her away from Nat's path and into a an alleyway.
"Rose, we need to get cover. Now!" Oliver's calming voice soothing her. She turned to look at him, only to see her own horror mirroring his.
He led her to a hidden cellar door and climbed in before her to make sure it was safe.
She was about to follow him when she heard a familiar voice shout to her.
"Bam!" She turned around to see the boy sprinting towards her. "Hurry! Bam! Bam!"
"There's no time, Rose. We need to get cover-" Oliver tried.
"But Bam-"
Just then a strong wind pushed the fire in his direction, consuming him. She heard his screams of agony and watched as he was being burnt alive.
"Bam!" She shrieked, running towards her, tears cascading down her sweaty face. "Bam!"
Oliver leaped out of the cellar and sprinted after, making it in time to save her from a falling building.
"We have to go!" He screamed at her.
"Bam!" She ignored him, struggling against his grip. She screamed and punched and swatted at him but he was much stronger. He dragged her into the cellar and closed the door.
"Bam," she sobbed against his chest, repeating his name over and over again.
Then a wind blew in through the cellar door and she fell into a deep coma.
"Rose!" A voice awoke her from her nightmare and was frantically shaking her.
She opened her eyes immediately, murmuring 'BamBam' quietly as she tried to steady her breathing.
"I'm here," he pulled her into his embrace and stroked her head soothingly. It reminded her of what Oliver had done, only since it was Bam this time, her heart was racing.
She hugged him tightly and cried on his shoulder, overwhelmed by her horrid nightmare.
"I thought I lost you," she sobbed. "I thought you died."
"I'm alright. It was just a dream. I'm safe."
She pulled away slightly.
"Is it just a dream though? It didn't feel like one. And a lot of the previous dreams I've had were visions. I don't want you to die."
He pushed a few strands of hair out of her face and stared at her lovingly.
"Eventually, I'll have to die," he told her. "Better sooner than later, right? But let's just enjoy our time together while we have it instead of regretting it in the future."
She caressed his face, tears still rolling down her cheeks.
"I know but I don't want to lose you."
He pulled her back into his embrace and she finished off her crying. It took about thirty more minutes but Bam did all he could throughout that time to calm her. He swayed her back and forth, rubbed soothing circles into her back, kissed her forehead or the top of her head lightly, stroked her hair. He did all he could think of.
When she finally pulled away, opting for eye contact, she sniffled slightly.
"I need..." She stammered, voice trembling. "I need to go to the border."
"The border? As in the Earth one?"
She nodded.
"I need to see Oliver."
"As in the Edidan? Why?"
"He was there in the dream. Last time I dream of something like this, Lynn dreamt it too. If he saw it too, it's a vision. If not, it's just me stressing. I have to see him."
Bam glanced at her questioningly but agreed nonetheless, secretly hoping that it was all just a dream.
